Excellent service, food was great. The inside has basic tables and chairs but everything is clean. My husband got the lunch bowl and I shared the Nachos with my son. We also got the strawberry mojito (non alcoholic). The meat is fresh and I was told by the guy working that their ground beef is ground there at the restaurant. The shrimp was on the smaller side but you get a good amount and they were so delicious! They were out of their Barria Ramen but we were told it cooks for hours and is a top seller. We can't wait to try other items on the menu. read more

First time here and wanted some tacos. The neon lights on the front of the business are blinding and a bit much. We walked in and you immediately see the two kiosks to order. The floors were sticky and our shoes stuck to the floor. The women's restroom was out of order. The kiosks seem like a good idea but nobody there to ask questions or to get your drinks. If you can catch one of the two people working as they bring out orders you are lucky. The menus on the kiosks are pretty informative though and tell the ingredients for each item. Kiosk automatically adds 20% tip unless you change it. Considering you don't have any interaction with employees until they bring out your order other tipping options might apply. They cook to order which is nice except you don't get your drinks or your appetizers until it's your turn. There is a comment section to type no tomatoes or special instructions. Mine still came out with tomatoes but they promptly remade it for me. The food is pretty good. No complaints there other than having to remake one of my tacos. The chips and queso was pretty good. Chips were dusted with spices and served hot. We tried 6 different tacos and they were all very good. The tortillas were toasted on the grill which makes a big difference. You can get flour or corn tortillas. The chicken and steak were marinated before grilling and were big cubes and plentiful. The menu has a pretty big variety including a kids menu with chicken and fries. The last comment is their fountain machine for drinks. The coke tasted off. They may need to recalibrate it. Drinks are served in small clear throw away cups and the lids don't fit very well. Refills are hard to get. You have to wait for someone to come out of the back. If these small complaints don't bother you the food is very good. read more

Taco Way - I order the MEXICAN STREET CORN from this place and as soon as I opened it. It smelled rotten. - Mexican Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

I visited Taco Way for the first time recently on a Tuesday to check it out. They have two kiosks at the counter that you order from. The 30% off code - LOVETACOS - is good on the entire menu on Taco Tuesdays. The deal & code are advertised on a window poster you'll notice as you walk up in addition to another poster advertising a great lunch deal available. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos (corn tortillas, lettuce, breaded fried shrimp, chipotle mayo, and cilantro) minus pico & they were great. The shrimp were freshly fried and steaming hot. I had to wait a bit because a large catering order was being finished as I arrived. The manager offered me a free Jarritos and apologized profusely for my wait. I took it as a good sign that their tacos are that popular plus it gave me time to enjoy the gorgeous murals by ARTBYJAE. I visited the Baymeadows location (open until 3am Fri/Sat & 1am Sun-Th) & they now have a second location on Parental Home Rd (open until 1am Fri/Sat & 11pm Sun-Th). read more

My sister, son and I were looking for something for dinner at 10pm on a Tuesday. There wasn't much open but I happened to look and was pleasantly surprised that Taco Way was still open!! My sister placed an order and picked up the order. Since it was taco Tuesday we each got three birria tacos. The meat itself was fairly flavorful and the consome was decent. I appreciated they charred the outside of the tortilla and it was nicely crisped. Since I'm from Southern California, I was expecting some type of hot sauce like all of our taco shops offer, but sadly there was none. I would have loved a little spice, but the tacos were very good with the onions. I was pleasantly surprised they were out of cilantro, which for me makes me happy since I'm not a fan of the stuff. Overall it was a good meal and for Florida, they were pretty decent birria tacos. read more

Upon entering i was greeted, theres just 1 person behind the counter and everything else is ordering via kiosk. Theres lunch specials but I went on Tuesday so only Tuesday deal apply, a 30% your order if you put the code in the kiosk. I ordered chips & guacamole and Birria Ramen Ramen The guacamole didnt have much flavor and the chips tasted bland. The birria was flavorful but something about it just felt off.. and the ramen noodles were just the type you get from the supermarket (the instant kind) so it was just okay. The person behind the counter was nice enough to give me cup of water when I asked and all. Food, service and ambience were all average and would come only if I really had no other option and wanted to eat around the area read more

To start the Al pastor is not pork as they do not serve pork. Its shwarma. Or halal meat of some sort. It is not spanish at all... the shrip are tiny little frozen shrimp from who knows where and taste disgusting. On top of that i paid over $20 for one wet borrito! You would hope that since its over 20 dollars that you would get local cought or Florida shrimp at least. But no, you get disgusting tiny frozen farmed shrimp. This is my 2nd time eating here and it was bad the first time as well. The food is not good and is fake spanish. Taco Bell is more authentic than these guys and that is saying a whole lot. read more

We stopped by for Taco Tuesday to give this place a try. They do offer a couple of specials on Tuesday - on our visit it was only chicken tacos. You have to but three of one taco and you can get three of other tacos (all chicken). We also tried the esquites and it was very good. The place is very clean and small so it's not crowded or loud. Pros: * small place that allows for great customer service * good portion size * taste was great Cons: * only cons is that Taco Tuesday specials are limited to a few tacos We really enjoyed the place and the customer service. We will be back. read more

Delicious! Fall off the bone tender beef, with a deliciously spiced consommé and flavorful tortillas. It also wasn't soggy despite getting takeout. Best part of it - it is halal! Getting food was fast and quick, we were in and out in about 15 minutes. Highly recommend! read more

Taco Way - De Birria Tacos - Mexican Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

I am not really a taco person, but I love Birria however way they serve it. It can be a ramen, a taco or a quesadilla, I am all for it! Taco Way definitely hit the spot on how Birria should be made! Slow cooked, tender flaky beef and a flavorful consommé! I am a noodle person, so of course I have to try their Birria ramen. Although a tad salty for my taste, I still enjoyed it! I will definitely order it with rice next time. My husbands Birria tacos were perfectly made, crispy with a generous amount of meat, he was indeed satisfied and full, which we seldom experienced when eating tacos. Place is clean and service was fast! Do check them out! I will come back for rice bowls and fajitas. I also saw James posted a naan bread instead of the usual corn tortilla, and I can't wait to try that the most! read more

Tried this place out for lunch the other day and it had some good, but also had some bad. The service was average the lady behind the counter was cool, now as far as the food goes I ordered the Birria tacos with their mexican street corn and a Jarritos fruit punch soda. Only took about 15 minutes to recieve my order which wasn't bad. Tacos were good, but the Street Corn was NOT, it had an odd flavor to it and it was watered down, I couldn't finish it. But at least the Tacos were on point. However my biggest complaint was the outrageous price, $30 for lunch, one meal thats it. I have seen cheaper prices for Birria tacos at sit down restaurants. If you decide to order from here, just get the tacos. read more

The food is good. Plenty of parking is available. The staff was very friendly. Nachos and salsa are complimentary. We tried tacos, chicken nachos and the chicken rice bowl. This place is reasonable. Most menu items are $10-$15 dollars. It was not bad but does not taste like authentic Mexican food. We probably will not revisit. read more

Loved love love the Taco Way. My wife is out of town, my kids, and I like to try new spots and we had pegged this location for a few weeks now. They only been open a couple of months, but if their food stays this good, they'll be there for a very long time. The chef had worked in Miami for a number of years, and the family is from the Middle East. So why does the family from the Middle East open a Mexican restaurant? Well, they actually have taken Middle Eastern spices and Mexican cuisine, emerge them together. The result is a party of flavors in your mouth . Parking is convenient, services stellar, and the ambience was diner, but the dining room is very clean. But you wanna know about the food? Mexican Street Corn - I love Mexican Street corn however this dish very too far away from the Mexican style for me. And while I love, corn, and I thought this dish was good. It was not a dish that I loved. Taco Bell - now this was something special, large portions, perfectly grilled chicken, along with all the fixings. Perfect for my daughter who is dairy gluten-free. GET THIS DISH. Wet burrito - this is my sons go to any Mexican restaurant we go to and he loved his burrito. He's a big eater, but he only could eat half of the food that we brought out. So remember big portions. Shrimp tacos - this was my dish, and I thought it was fabulous. I worried that the spicy mayo would overwhelm me as I am not a big spice person. But I shouldn't have worried because it was absolutely fabulous and the chef came out and told me they make it in the house. We happen to come on a day, after their AC had gone out. It was not uncomfortable inside, but I know they were frustrated because of the weather that took it out. But like I said, we didn't mind, we were not uncomfortable, we enjoyed the food, and we absolutely love talking to the family about their concept, their plans, and how they came up with the idea to merge the two cultures into one flavor. read more

Super great tacos! I am a taco person, and when I was looking for different birria tacos, my sister found Taco Way. I decided to stop by on a lunch break because it sounded pretty good. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and the gentleman at the front showed us to the tablet to place our orders. They have pictures on every item on the tablet but do have a large menu overhead with descriptions. We happened to go on a Tuesday so I got the birria special and a jamaica. My friend got the chicken quesadilla, jarritos and a soda. We sat down and a couple minutes later they brought over some complimentary warm chips and homemade salsa. I have to say, the salsa was amazing! You could tell the tomatoes had been charred, blistered or something because there was this lovely smokiness to it. The consistency was great and I was happy! Then our meals came. The birria was lovely! Super moist with a nice amount of cheese, onion and cilantro! The consume was also very good. My friend loved her quesadilla. She wished it had some pico so she just threw on the rest of the salsa and added some chipotle mayo and ate it up! The meat is all halal which is pretty cool. I do not personally observe but love that it opens up Mexican food to more people so I am all for it! The service was great, the restaurant was clean and I will definitely be back! Please try this new, lovely family business! read more

I have to be honest this is probably one of the more difficult reviews that I have written because I've debated if I was even going to do it. The customer service was phenomenal; the young lady who greeted us was friendly, delightful, and extremely knowledgeable of the various menu items. That was very appreciated! The tacos that I had which was the Caribbean was outstanding! The flavorful chicken and the Caribbean spices truly popped and made this a phenomenal taco. My friend had the ground beef taco which she said was more greasy than she's acclimated to. Here comes the dilemma. The dining area was beautifully decorated with very bright vivid artwork on the walls and they had very nice set up, which made it very convenient for the customer. However, the restroom was one of the nastiest, with long term mess. I was not sure if I would ever go back after going in there because it made me wonder how was their kitchen. Then The owner came by introduced himself (very friendly man) and asked how our experience was. We told him the food was great and I told him in detail of how bad that bathroom was. He stated he would get it taken care of immediately, though I did not go back to make sure. Prior to the bathroom experience this would have definitely been a 5 star and had the owner not walked up to us, this would have been a 1 star so I met in the middle at three. The food and customer service hands-down, a five. The cleanliness a 1 read more

Are these the best tacos I've had in Jax? Taco Way!!! Yes. Tacos Árabes. Properly cooked steak with a lovely tahini salsa, radish and cilantro on fluffy naan bread. I only ever want to eat these Puebla-style tacos from now on. I did try one steak taco with the corn tortilla which was also good... but I'm telling you... on naan... paired with their spicy house made green sauce and lime juice. Chefs kiss. Will definitely be going back. If you know me.. you know I don't geek out about tacos... but seriously! Needed a quick dinner but didn't want to sacrifice taste. I had some corn tacos with mozzarella cheese and beef. Everything from start to finish was absolutely amazing! My fiancé and I ordered two servings of the Birria Tacos, along with the Street Corn and the Chips & Queso -- and every bite was incredible. The Birria Tacos were bursting with flavor, loaded with tender, juicy meat, and paired perfectly with the rich, flavorful consomé on the side. The Street Corn was just as impressive -- fresh, vibrant, and seasoned to perfection. Honestly, if I wasn't already full from the tacos, I would've devoured the whole bowl! The Chips & Queso were another hit -- warm, cheesy, and full of flavor, with the chips adding a perfect crunchy contrast. The service was a 10/10. Our food came out quickly, everything was fresh, and we were greeted with kindness and a big smile from the manager, which made the experience even better. All in all, it was a fantastic meal and a wonderful experience -- we'll definitely be coming back! read more

Very quick service, especially around dinner time. Inside was clean but the floor was very sticky. As for the food, I had a to-go order of the Birra Tacos, looked amazing, but fell a bit short. Queso lacked in flavor but Salsa was decent. I wish the birria consume was better with the birria tacos, consisted of just Onions and broth. Chicken Quesadilla was a winner fajita style with the peppers and onions... but lacked the sour cream dip. Overall it was a below average experience. Everything needed to be seasoned more. Nothing special about the tacos. I would try it again if they work on the above. (Customer service of the Staff was very green behind the ears.) read more
