This is an order at kiosk, seat yourself and they bring your food kinda place. We sat outside as inside felt a bit warm. Our food started to come out very quickly and everything had solid flavor. I did get one wrong taco on my trio but they were good about fixing it. Overall the service was on point and food was good. Tried Talkin' Tacos for the first time today and ordered the chicken quesadillas to-go. The food itself was fresh and flavorful -- you can tell the ingredients are quality and everything was prepared well. The chicken was seasoned nicely and the tortillas had a good texture. That said, I was a little confused by part of the experience. My order came with a small container of what I initially thought was soup, but later realized was more of an au jus-style dipping sauce. That makes sense now, especially since the quesadilla felt a bit dry on its own -- I just didn't realize I was supposed to dunk it! I also expected the usual sides like salsa, pico de gallo, or sour cream that typically accompany quesadillas at most Mexican restaurants, but none were included. Since I didn't check the bag until I got home, I didn't have a chance to ask -- that's on me, and I regret ordering online for the first time. The outside courtyard is such a lovely entrance for this spot! The inside is also very colorful and beautiful. Spud was so wonderful and welcoming! I have been to Talkin Tacos recently and over the course of the last couple years the Jacksonville Beach location is a kind of cool decorated restaurant bar. I enjoy the best thing is the Bora tacos with the consume. The burritos are good but for me, I always order double approach. The service is order on the kiosk and it was brought to my table quickly and offered a free bottle of water, which was very nice. This is a cool spot to have a drink and get some tacos. Try the sampler platter Trio tacos magnetic. The only thing I felt was not that great was the Horchata, which seemed thick and over sweet other than that everything else was hot and delicious. read more

We got the queso and a taco trip with shrimp, mahi and steak Al pastor. Also enjoyed the sunrise punch. The queso was good, not amazing but solid. The tacos were SO good. The Mahi was my favorite! The talking taco is such a great place to enjoy unique taco options. There Birria taco was nice, tender and cheesy and I love their steak taco with pineapples. The Caribbean taco was not as good as I'd hope for, but that is my personal opinion. Cherry lemonade didn't have much sweetness or tartness so I give that like a three out of five I ordered the queso and apparently they don't automatically come with chips, I guess It wasn't that obvious because the party next to me also didn't order it so I didn't know they didn't come with chips so we both had to get some chips. They came hard and stale after we ordered them too, so not necessarily worth it. I do wish the corn tortillas were double stacked instead of single. I was on lunch break and had the taste for some tacos decide to try them out here as Orlando just recently gotten one. Upon arrival their restaurant is like party club ready it's def a vibe. It was pretty empty since I did go before the lunch crowd. Their menu boasts an impressive variety of taco options, from classic carne asada to creative vegetarian options like roasted cauliflower. Each taco is bursting with flavor, with perfectly seasoned fillings and fresh toppings. When my food came out it looked absolutely delicious, their tacos were about 16 bucks for 3 tacos and I believe they only offer corn tortillas not flour. Okay, I hate to be the negative one. But this place sucks. To start off, it's outrageously overpriced. One burrito was $16. And yall can see the size of it from my pictures. It's nothing to write home about either. Bland, dry, and we waited over 30 minutes for it. On top of that, they don't offer complimentary chips and salsa. That's another $9. I'm assuming they don't have a liquor license, because they have a bar and "mocktails" on the menu. No beers or seltzers either. Thank God next door is a brewery. Last but not least, it's all self serve. When my partner and I had walked up to this place it looked like a club, with random people walking around in skimpy outfits looking lost. Eventually after walking in I finally asked someone what the deal was and what we were supposed to do. We were directed to 3 iPads where you place your order. Then you sit wherever you want, including the places next door if you want, and they will come find you when your food is ready. The food was bad, the service was bad, very over priced, awkward, and it costs an arm and a leg. They seem new, but they need to get their crap together before they charge nearly $20 a burrito!!! There is touch screen for ordering but the staff was also super friendly and very willing to help. Had the queso and chips. Very good. The chips had a good flavor and were slightly warm. Not stale tasting or too thick or too thin and salty. Queso wasn't spicy either. So we got the Caribbean tacos. It's a crispy tortilla bottom with steak, shaved thin and sliced plantains and an avocado creme with cilantro. Flavors were great I really enjoyed it. The staff was extremely helpful with using the computer to place our order and they were very quick with fulfilling the order. Wasn't helpful think we were cutting into her screen time. We decided on 2 quesadillas, 1 of them with extra chicken. Get to the drink section, she wants a sprite. Asked the same girl if they have sprite she looked at us like we were dumb and chuckled a little and said we don't do fountain drinks. Well they only have jarritos or lemonade. Lemonade was free refills for $5, no regular lemonade... not too sure on lemonade with Mexican and didn't want to chance it on Jarritos. We ended up adding lemonade into our "cart" of 2 chicken quesadillas 1 with extra chicken. One order of what we think is queso. And 2 lemonades was SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS!!!! So looked at each other and left. Outrageous pricing. Rude staff. Also not sure why every menu option you can say no to takis but takis were never in any of the pictures! Totally bummed out and disappointed... We went somewhere else and got the same things. But instead of lemonades we got a water and sprite. I also ordered the regular Birria for comparison. He got the Birria Ramen and a side of Pico De Gallo with Chips. I must say, the bao birria was very good. I like that it combined two of my favorite items for a unique meal. The regular birria was very cheesy and perhaps some of the best I've tasted to date. The portions were good as I couldn't finish both meals and they tasted just as good the next day. He ate all his ramen and while he claimed that he's not a fan a birria this changed his mind. The setting there was very chilled and you can seat yourselves. Upon arriving we were greeted by one of the staff there and she gave run down on how to order since it was our first time. They have kiosks that we order and you put your name, number, and pay all on the spot. Then you just have to find a seat and they'll call your name out. The service was very fast and we got our food very quickly. The food came out hot and fresh and did not disappoint. The staff was friendly when it came to a misunderstanding with one of our orders and accidentally ordered meat in their meal and they made the dish again without the meat. We apologized for the confusion, but they were very understanding of it all. I look forward to coming back and trying more of their other dishes! read more

The tortilla chips, (which are an a la carte item) seemed like they came out of a bag. I had the trio of tacos and tried the carne al pastor, fish and the Caribbean carne. The flavors were good, but the corn tortillas were really really tough. My husband got the birria which was my favorite. You really needed to dunk the tortillas to get them soft. So the other day my wife and I went to Talkin' Tacos. On a Wednesday. "Whaddyou mean you went for tacos on a Wednesday?" asked my son, unable to wrap his head around the concept. "What can I say?" I answered. "We wanted tacos." We did. So we went to Talkin' Tacos. It's a relatively new place on Beach. The inside is well decorated and music plays in the background. The ordering process on the kiosks is pretty easy and straightforward. In addition several pleasant employees were willing to assist us when we told them it was our first time in the restaurant. So of course, we got tacos. What's nice is the taco trio option on the menu lets you select three different kinds of tacos. I chose the chicken achiote, the carne asada and the birria tacos. My wife got the mahi taco, the Caribbean carne taco and the steak al pastor tacos. We also got an order of plantains and pico de gallo and chips. These two sides came out first. The plantains were not very warm and were not the soft plantains I was used to. I don't know if they needed a bit more time in the oven or if they weren't quite ripe enough. They were fine but I wouldn't order them again. The pico was good. The chips seemed like they came out of a bag, which is fine, but perhaps the restaurant could buy a warmer to keep the chips in? My wife and I agreed that warm chips would have been a nice touch. As for the tacos? All were good, but again, the food could have been a touch warmer. To me the star was the birria taco. It come with a little cup of consommé (almost like a thin beef soup) that you dip the taco in. The consommé was really tasty and we found that we were dipping the other tacos into it. Also the chips. And my fingers. Mmmmmmm, consommé! The tacos do have lots of sauce and toppings on them, so prepare to get messy. The taco shells were different as well. They weren't quite soft but not hard either. Almost like a softer tostada as opposed to a taco. They tasted good but were not what I was expecting. Several employees came over and asked how everything was and if we needed anything. The food is amazing and always SO consistent. We have never been disappointed and we come here a LOT. I like to mix and match the tacos with my current preferred combination being the Caribbean Carne, the Bang Bang Shrimp, and the Birria. All are outstanding and it's impossible to rank them, I'm just glad they give you the option to pick 3. On cold days the birria grilled cheese and tomato soup are next level comfort foods. For starters you can't go wrong with the guacamole or the Street Corn in a Cup (crushed Takis on top?! Yes, please!!). The churros are to die for- cookies and cream are our personal favorites- and the tajin and chamoy gummies are a delicious and unique treat! Service here is outstanding. Everyone is super friendly, helpful, and prompt! We never find ourselves waiting long for food. You order from a kiosk, which is super convenient for those of us frequent fliers who know exactly what we want, and there is always someone nearby to help newcomers or the tech averse crowd. The restaurant itself has a great vibe. The neon and black look awesome together and the signs are great photo backdrops! The patio is beautiful and the perfect spot to enjoy your meal, especially when DJ Gonzo Style is out there dropping beats! I went to check out Talkin Taco based on a positive recommendation. The pictures looked good enough and the place had decent reviews. However I was disappointed. The concept is good but I don't think it is executed well. Firstly the place looks great; open, vibrant, trendy. That's about it. The kiosk ordering is not very efficient. As I sat observed persons visibly frustrated with the system. The food: I ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos and they were...not good. The fish was dry and lacked flavor. The street corn is heavy, cloying and does not come across as authentic. Good service and great ambiance are not a substitute for mediocre food. read more

As we entered we were greeted by a worker letting us know how to place our order, for credit cards there are 2 kiosks on the side and for cash orders, you order at the bar. At the kiosk we noticed that not all options available for online ordering were available in the restaurant. The bf was looking forward to the Birria grilled cheese or Birria ramen but neither were available on the kiosk, not sure if it was sold out but it was not an option at all. We ordered the southwest chicken tacos, birria tacos, the street corn and 2 Mexican Cokes. The southwest tacos has great flavor, dark meat chicken and the spicy Mayo was slightly spicy. It was a good middle of the road for spice levels. The street was good, but I prefer non canned or non boiled corn, so the corn was a little mushy. The flavors were wonderful, and not over powered by lime. Birria tacos were good, a little dry, but great flavor overall. The consume itself was delicious, the bf drank the leftovers after he finished his tacos! Overall the ambiance of this place is cool, a very chill environment. They are not yet serving alcohol, but I'm not sure if they intend to serve it at any point. They have since expanded to multiple locations and while primarily in Florida, I believe that they have since expanded beyond the Sunshine State. This particular location is in Jacksonville, Florida. The ambiance is hip and upbeat and utilizes black lights and almost has a more nightclub feel than a fast-casual restaurant. You order at kiosks, which cuts back on the human interaction (and saves on labor costs). I'm not a fan of this, but it is what it is. It is also more expensive than other Mexican restaurants, but again, it is what it is. Talkin' Tacos is a decent, but expensive, choice. I have only had their birria tacos and they are good. Ultimately, I would recommend Talkin' Tacos. read more
