My boss got the chicken tacos with her combo plate and said they were perfectly seasoned and tender, with a balance of flavor that showed real attention to detail. I got a mixture of the chicken, pork, and steak tacos that were all near perfection with beautifully developed spices contributing to the enjoyment of the taste. The rice and beans that came with the tacos were lovely and complimented the overall dish with a nice balance of unique flavors. I was heading into work at Sam's club and this truck was in our parking lot decided to try them. They were very polite and friendly. So that was a plus. I ordered the shrimp fajitas (because I was going to reheat it later and figured it would be the easiest to do that) I did ask that they go light on the peppers and onions and also cook them extra because I like my veggies soft and mushy. It came with 4 corn tortillas. I decided to eat 3 hours after ordering on my break. I enjoyed the fajitas they do chop the shrimp up which I didn't mind as much as I thought I would. They did offer me either mild or hot sauce and since I don't like a huge amount of spice I got the mild and now would like to try the spicy to see the difference. It came with rice and beans those were the average kind. I would definitely like to return when I'm not in a hurry and taste some of their other food and that's the plan! In my home state of California, this place would be a solid 3.5, maybe even a 4. But guess what? You ain't in Cali no more, carnal. I ordered the 3 taco combo with carne asada, pollo, and pastor. Chicken didn't have much flavor itself but it never does at most places...not sure why I get it but I usually do at a new place. Carne asada and pastor had good flavor, with a decent sprinkle of onion and cilantro. The sauces are great! I got 1 mild and 1 hot, definitely recommend asking for extra. This place has potential, but it's true, if you're from the west it's not going to scratch that itch. The people working there were really nice. The carne asada taco was really good, but my chicken taco's meat was hard and rubbery and the whole taco was dry. I also got a carne asada burrito, I asked for no lettuce but got lettuce in it. The burrito taste was solid but the cheese was really overpowering - greasy. The food did come with mild and spicy All in all, I'd be willing to go back. This place is a Go Fund Me project on steroids. And that this place is not only a taco truck, but a pupusa factory makes it a new regular place for me to take my friends and family. The truck is owned by a 19 year old college student who is using the funds for the truck to make her way through her degree without debt. That reason for being, alone, made me feel great about eating for her cause. The tacos were packed, barely having enough tortilla bring both ends together so 2 tacos were so filling. They added that extra touch of offering bottled gaseosas to go with the meal. A family owned business, it was such a charming experience to see this gal working alongside her father. Our first time here, we happened to escape a crowd toward the end of the night and not only got the outside table all to ourselves, but the owners also got out of the truck, sat with us and had a delightful chat with us. By the end of the night we were family and I was already making plans for my next visit. It truly felt like going to my cousin's house to catch up. I've spotted this truck up and down Blanding BLVD a few times. Mostly between Wells and Townsend. I stopped by one day and ordered four tacos. Two pork and two steaks. The truck itself was very clean and the young lady taking the order was nice. They do accept both cash and plastic. The tacos were good. I like how they have two corn tortillas instead of just one. I also received two containers of the Verde sauce. I think they could have placed more sauce in each container and I would have been good with one. I was a little disappointed that chicken was not on the menu. I was told by a friend that they don't do chicken because it doesn't sell as well. Some people have a diet restriction that doesn't allow them to eat pork or steak, not myself but I do prefer chicken. I'll definitely be back. read more
