I also knew it was a good pick because my buddy Aaron had been there previously and enjoyed them. Plus they have a good selection for those on Vegan and Pescatarian diets! My new fav taco spot! How have I not been here sooner?!?! Grabbed some tacos before a concert at Five. This place was busy but we scored 2 indoor seats- on a cooler day I'd love to enjoy the sneaky outdoor patio out back. Staff was friendly and awesome and clearly loved the food here. My absolutely favorite was the mushroom taco- so fresh and delicious and overflowing with veggies. If I wasn't going to a concert right afterward I woulda ordered a second helping lol. I came here with my dad for lunch. I had a great time better than my last experience. Any of the tacos are amazing especially taco was a walk-in taco always a favorite. I had the sangria. Overall the food was good, but the overall experience was not because of how much this restaurant nickel and dimed us. Be aware that there is no free water (only $1 bottles) , there's no chips included, and they charged us higher prices on the bill than the prices on the menu. And this wouldn't be so bad if the prices were affordable, but things like the guacamole and street corn were both $13 dollars, which is crazy because those are usually side dishes. So if you want the best bang for your buck here I'd recommend just getting a taco cause those are pretty filling and only around $7, but overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. These were the fattest tacos in Jax! We had the Al Pastor, Suadero, & Barbacoa Tacos; chips with salsa and Guacamole. All the food was fire. The portion sizes for the tacos were on point, the flavors of each of them were fantastic. The barbacoa sauce was spicy. So beware. The Al Pastor is only available on Friday & Saturday. But oh so worth it. We had two drinks- the daily special marg and the Paloma. Both were made with the right portions and a great addition to the meal. The service was fantastic all around. We ate inside and talked to the cook and line staff. Everyone was very friendly. This places vibe reminds me of city life in another country. There are about 12 tables inside and outside. Delicious tacos. I got the cecina, al pastor and the boracho fish taco. Cecina was my favorite but they all were good. The fish taco came with a mustard sauce which isn't my jam. I was walking my new neighborhood and stopped to check out this cute spot. I'm from Southern California and I travel to Mexico every few years so my Mexican food pallet is a bit spicer than most in JAX. I was the first person in the door and was greeted by the staff right away. After a quick look I decided to steer away from Tacos which I can find anywhere and went to the Huaraches. They hand make their blue corn tortillas so that was a slam dunk for me. They were a bit thinner than I have had in the past but still tender, fresh, and delicious. I decided to add the Ribeye for a bit of protein. It was a bit more like carne asada with some added fat that I didn't really enjoy. That said, the dish had great flavor with homemade black beans, crispy cabbage, and several traditional sauces. My server also brought me two different spicy salsa, one green and one red. I enjoyed both of them for different reasons. The red had a good heat kick and the green was a nice addition to the ribeye steak. I will definitely be back to try some tacos and the enchiladas. This is one of the more authentic Mexican places I have found within Jacksonville and Saint Augustine. read more

I am hesitant to review this place as it is my favorite spot in Jacksonville and I really don't wanna draw too much attention to it but let me tell you it is phenomenal. A little hole in the wall hallway restaurant with some beautiful patio space. Be sure to stop by on Friday or Saturday for tacos Al Pastor, but don't turn them down literally any other day because the menu is stacked with delicious options. The service is always top-notch as the waiters are attentive and proactive. This time around I got their margarita special which came with a souvenir cup that a completely different waitress asked if I would like for her to clean it off for me to take home as we walked out. I visited Taqueria Cinco with two fellow yelpers Bobby and John after our 20-mile bike ride. The ambiance was enjoyable, featuring music and both indoor and outdoor seating. However, the food did not meet expectations. Specifically, the Al Pastor Taco was overfilled and fell apart during consumption, and the carnitas taco was excessively greasy with minimal pork. The flavors were also overpowered by cilantro, and the sides of rice and beans were bland. Additionally, there were no fountain drinks or complimentary water. Overall, I give this establishment three stars due to the subpar food and lack of complimentary beverages. Sodas and beers were priced very reasonably, but without refills it limited us to just one beverage. I would have given this 2 stars but because of the great service I made it 3. My daughter introduced me to this place a couple of years ago when I was still living in the Tucson, AZ area. I loved it then and have loved it every time since I moved here in Dec 2025. I always get the Enchiladas Verde which are fantastic and very filling. I went today for the first time over a weekend. I saw they had a brunch menu and decided to try the Tostada Volcan. It was also fantastic. The combination of eggs, chorizo, potatoes, black beans, onion, tomatoes, cabbage, queso cotija, salsa quemada and cholula mayo was sumptuous. I told my server that this would be a great hangover remedy. I haven't had a hangover in 40 years but I'm sure there a lot of younger folks that like to party Friday and Saturday nights in the 5 Points area. Their brunch is only on Saturday and Sunday between 11:00-3:00. Wake up late and head over. You will be glad you did. I will also add, the place has a good vibe and the service and the servers are great. It's my go to Mexican restaurant in Jax. I'm quickly not missing all the great Mexican restaurants in the Tucson area. read more

We have historically enjoyed their outdoor seating but the ambiance inside reminds me of every great Baltimore and New York restaurant I've been to before where space is maximized, and the interior is used to to set a cozy atmosphere. As always, we were greeted immediately and service was excellent. The crew there is just fantastic. This time I had the shrimp tacos with rice and beans. The tacos...phenomenal, the shrimp flavored exquisitely, the fried shell elevated these like everything else I've had here. What I didn't expect was for the rice beans to be so amazing. The texture, the taste, the best I've had anywhere. I've historically considered rice and beans to be a standard, an afterthought. As with everything else done here, excellent and next level. Topline review is that the food here is ridiculously good. If you like tacos, this is absolutely the best choice in the area. they have a ton of vegetarian options that you don't frequently see on menus here, like nopales and huitlacoche, but I rotate between the ribeye cecina, the chorizo, the al pastor (weekends only). the carnitas, the cochinita pibil, and the campechano. The last two are probably my favorites, with the campechano marrying up both the ribeye and chorizo with nopales in a super spicy combo. You can end up with a more expensive meal than expected, because three tacos can be $16-20 depending on what you order. Seating inside is very limited, but there's a beautiful (and much larger) backyard for nice days. Service is very friendly. read more
