Vagabon is a great Korean barbecue restaurant. The service staff was great and it's an all you can eat type menu. The restaurant was very clean and large TV screens playing K-pop music as far as the food. There was a wide variety of beef, pork, chicken and certain seafood, like shrimp and octopus appetizers were included. We chose the cheesy corn the popcorn chicken both were very good. We had a fit full tasting of all the choices. We enjoyed the spicy pork belly, the spicy beef and the teriyaki chicken were our favorites. Just make sure you get there early enough as a place fills up quickly and people were waiting outside by the time we were finished there is a two hour table limit, but that didn't seem to be a problem for us. John wanted ice cream- so we were headed to Whit's and as we approached he changed his mind and announced he wanted to try the taco truck that is always parked at the end of the plaza and get ice cream. "One taco" he said. Oh look- they have tostadas he said (my fav). Alright. I wasn't going to have ice cream anyway- I can have a tostada. Mr. one taco ended up with three because they don't sell them al la carte. Ha-ha. So John loved his tacos that we carefully ate in the new car parked just a few feet away from the food truck. My tostada had a puddle of juices that by the end- had ruined the shell. My food was good- but not great, meanwhile John compared it to one of our favorite places and said he liked it better. OH- ok! I was heading to Whit's for custard when I saw a few people waiting for this truck in the adjacent parking lot. I looked at the reviews, which were very good, and headed over to check out the menu. I decided to get two tacos - carnitas and pastor. The cost of a single taco wasn't on the menu but when my order rang up, it was $7.53 with tax. At $3.50 each, clearly the 3 taco plate on the menu for $8.75 was a better deal but I only wanted two tacos. I chose corn tortillas over the flour ones and the order was up quickly. After the first bite, I was confused. There was really no seasoning in the carnitas. The meat actually tasted like tuna. It was very strange. I put that one down and bit into the pastor taco and out came a huge piece of fat. The saving grace on the plate was the salsa and the chips. This wasn't a good first experience at Mr. Taco. In size and concept, these tacos reminded me of the $1/$1.50 tacos at the food trucks in LA and at $3.50 each, I think they were quite overpriced for the quality of the meat, both of which had really no flavor to them despite the toppings. I've had much better tacos at food trucks in the past and I understand this place has multiple trucks and restaurants. read more

So the food was good. Really good. However the prices are a little steep. 3 tacos and chips and question $23. We opted for the other taco place in this plaza the following day and we recommend them over Mr Taco. read more

The food truck is so tasty and fresh! The pork carnitas were so well made and crispy like I likey!!! My friend had the burrito and I can only assume it was perfection as she moaned...."this is the best food I ever had!" Everyone loved the 3 taco deal very much and no matter what they got...fish, shrimp, chicken, pork.....they loved it!!! We were on beach blvd. Had been my go to stop for Mexican food that was familiar to what I've enjoyed in California & Nevada. In the past 3 months, the quality has gone steeply down hill. This Mexican food truck is easy to see from beach Blvd. They are in a part of the parking lot with lots of lights and isolated from the main building behind them. The food we ordered here was very well prepared. It was made on spot. It tasted fresh. That is a unexpected surprise from a food truck. That implies the fresh cut and prepped the food the morning before loading the truck. The cost are same as any Mexican restaurant. The wait was short. Consistency is key. Especially when tacos are involved. Mr. Taco delivers the most scrumptious tacos on each passing visit. Plus, they're open so late that even when you've had too much to drink, you're not obligated to hit up the BK drive thru. This was my first time eating from the Mr. Taco truck. I've passed the truck many times and decided to try it out with my friends who were visiting from Tampa as I've heard great things about the food. I ordered the three taco deal, hard shell beef, soft shell chicken and steak. The beef was my favorite. My friend said the pork was really good, so next time I'm trying the pork on a quesadilla. The tacos come with onions, sour cream, tomatoes and lettuce. All the ingredients were very fresh, both of veggies and meat. You also get chips and salsa and a green spicy sauce. If you do not like spicy foods stay away from the green sauce. I loved the green sauce! My food was served with a smile. The gentleman was very helpful since this is my first time. Two years ago, after a wonderful evening with Jax YelpFolk Amy M, Gabriel N, Tyler W and our former-fearless-leader Matt C, late-nite sustenance was needed. Matt suggested hitting Mr. Taco - which was in the parking lot of the last stop on our UYE crawl. When don't tacos sound like a good idea and the excitement on Matt's face told us that we had something special to look forward to! The prices are great! $7.50 for 3 tacos, chips and sauce (a little extra for fish or shrimp)! So many options to choose from: asada, pastor, carnitas, chorizo, chicken or ground beef - each served with tomato, onion, cilantro, lettuce, cheese & sour cream. I usually opt for corn tortillas - they serve two with each taco and grill the outer shell for just a bit of crunchiness! The shells hold together ery well and drippage (a real taco spoiler) is minimal! Mr. Taco has become a regular stop on my way home after leaving the Beaches (frankly, it's a good reason to cross the Ditch) and makes the ride home a little happier! read more

I'm not a food truck connoisseur. Other than a couple of times in Portland, my truck experiences have been limited. So I count my lucky stars that Mr Taco was my first real late nite food truck moment. After a fantastic time at Southern Swells (you NEED to go there), my stomach was crying out for something tasty and greasy (in a good way). I'd heard many people sing the praises of this food truck (looking at you Matt), so I had to give them a try since they were within walking distance. At that time of night, the only tacos they had left were Asada, Pastor, and Carnitas (white people translation: steak, cubed pork, shredded pork). That was the perfect sampler for a 1st time customer. I added a bottle of pineapple Jarritos because nothing beats Mexican soda when paired with meat, cheese, and vegetables in a corn tortilla. The tacos were phenomenal and those morsels of flavor were exactly what I needed. I can't wait to go back. Next time I'm diving into the Camarones and Chorizo. read more

This taco truck is serving up average Tex Mex food. I had two beef tacos and a chicken tostada. That came to $14, which for what I got was seemingly pretty expensive for a low overhead food truck. I should've gone to Taco Lu for better food at almost the same price point. read more

Stopped by last night and picked up Burrito and Taco , both ground beef. Added Queso and chips. I would say the food was ok but expensive for the meal. The salsa is as thin as water and none will stick to the chips. Burrito Taco large cheese and chips $40.00 !! read more

Pretty pissed off. If you're going to advertise avocado in your almost $17 steak salad bowl, then make sure it's in there. I ordered from postmates and I am absolutely shocked this place charges that price for what I received. Coming from San Diego, I know good Mexican food, and this is definitely not it. Over the past few years, the Jacksonville Food Truck industry has upped its game. But anyone who knows Mr. Taco's food trucks knows they've been here since day one. They always have delicious, fresh food with a variety of tenderly cooked meats. I'm a huge fan. This was my go to food truck for some late night tacos. Hopefully this time was a fluke. I was super stoked when my food was ready in about 5 minutes. I should have know immediately. It had already been cooked. Easy to tell, and me having been in the restaurant business, cooking a head of time can be great, if done properly. Not this time. And definitely not properly. Everything was cooked twice in the worst way. The steak literally tasked like it was cooked on top of the shrimp or fish. (I only had the steak in my order) There are still a few reasons I'm giving it 3 stars. 1. The customer service is top notch for a simple food truck. They are always very kind and welcoming to any guest. 2. I have had too many good experiences that out-weigh the negative ones like this time. I'd say they are amazing 91% of the time. 3. Still waayyy better and sometimes faster than taco-hell, albeit a little bit more pricey. read more

Ordered from DoorDash. Ordered two taco salads. One with Chorizo was good but a little bit salty. The other taco salad wasn't too salty so I think just chorizo. The menu did not mention retried beans or we would have excluded but we were able to ignore them. Not a big deal as most people like them. Queso is a little runny but still very tasty. read more

If I had to vote for one restaurant to remain open the decision wouldn't be tough. Mr Taco food truck would be the last one standing. If you come to Jax Beach looking for tacos and go anywhere but here, I guess you hate great food! The food is great, cheap, and consistent. I know I can get a chicken burrito today and again next month and it will be full of the same exploding flavor. The guys that the truck a are friendly whip up your food very quick. I've had the tacos (regular and fajitas), burritos, and quesadilla...all have been on point. No matter what day you drive by you will always see people in line and you should kick yourself if you don't stop and join them. There aren't many places in Jax that make me truly want to continue to come back but this taco truck stole my heart...now only if they could deliver to my house then it would be pure gold! But seriously do yourself a favor and stop by you won't be disappointed. There are a few trucks around town plus the actual restaurant. Make it a point to stop by one of these today! read more

Mr taco serves some of the best, authentic tacos in Jax hands down. The carne asada tacos, nachos, and quesadillas are THE best in Jacksonville. Love mr taco. Delicious authentic Mexican. We go probably 2 times a week and always get the steak tacos. Best thing on the menu. The salsas are hand made, fresh corn tortillas. Man. Just great tacos! read more

My boyfriend and I (and all of our friends) LOVE Mr. Taco. We just recently moved to California and one of the hardest things was leaving our favorite taco truck. The food is always fresh, delicious, and cooked to perfection. Ronaldo is our favorite. Super amazing customer service and our go-to dinner. P.S. We found Mr. Taco through Yelp and were very happy!! Authentic Mexican food was delicious, chef's and staff were nice and the portion sizes were great. I was so full after I ate my meal. Great food at a great value. I wasn't impressed a few months back with the Mr Taco physical location but was told the truck was the bomb in a good way. So I tried the Mr Taco food truck at Beach Blvd near Southside and ....had to go back a few days later for another batch of food for everyone in the house. Great quality tacos at a fair price, very quickly. If you like Tacos and see a Mr Taco truck, pick some up and you will be happy you did. read more

Can't believe there are no reviews yet however they seem like a new food truck. Everything is wonderfully fresh!!! Including the corn tortillas which make such a difference, they are double tortillas because they are thin, light and crispy! Fresh salsas and chips come with your tacos which you can order a la carte. We had carnitas (the best!), carne Asada and shrimp tacos. Best authentic Mexican I've had here in a long time! Drinks, took over 30 minutes for a pineapple one and three skinny- we joked the food would arrive first, but we were very wrong. Then, the waitress waited for us to try- I think it was a newer person at the bar. We tried to like it, but somehow it tasted like flat sprite.our server took them away and made us them herself. Now, those were great. Small side of guac was brought after that- meant to go with the meal, but we were so hungry we just ate with the chips. It was very good- fresh tasting. Then we waited. And waited some more. Asked about the food, then waited some more. Finally, we cut our losses and asked for the check minus the food that never came. The band was starting next door and we wanted to celebrate the bday girl. Pic 1, text just after 8pm- shows me joking that I was going to eat my friends food since she was headed over from next door and taking a bit and we had ordered 10 minutes prior. Pic 2, text shows us giving up- 9pm. So over an hour wait on food that never arrived - even if busy that would be a deal breaker. We were excited to try it too- disappointed.

I had my first meal there when I visited Jacksonville Beach recently. Got the grilled bone-in yellow snapper, which was a daily special. Fresh, meaty, smoky. It was served with mixed greens and apple salad, some grilled green onions and freshly made corn tortillas. All paired well with the fish. The tortillas were about 0.75oz per piece. Moreover, the dish was served on a HUGE cutting board! I also ordered a side of Spanish rice, but surprisingly the manager took it off from my bill, saying that "[he was] glad that I enjoyed the meal so much"! The first meal was indeed impressive; it had been a while since I had had such Mexican food last time. So I decided to give it another try the next evening. Ordered the Carne Asada (asked for rare) and sub the beans with extra tortillas (to avoid high GI food). But the steak was disappointing: the first time it was served ~medium-well. The second time it was ~medium-rare so I did not complain twice. However, it was quite chewy. One reason was that, as you can see from my picture, the meat was not rest long enough before it was sliced and served. Service was good, friendly and quick. The restuarant was a bit noisy but I enjoyed the energy. Moreover, there were lots of beautiful decors and murals. I really like the tiger painted on the wall of their main dining area. So in short, I would recommend this restaurant if you like Mexican food. I would recommend the seafood and slowly-cooked stuff, like their short rib and pork shank. And I will dine in again the next time I visit Jacksonville Beach.
