The employees are very welcoming & willing to provide assistance with ordering when you very first walk in the door! My group loved the decor (fluorescent, eye-catching, authentic)! The most important thing is each of us LOVED our meals (flavored very well; filling)! What we didn't adore is there are no soft drinks (dispensed from a tap or fountain system). There are some flavors in glass bottles, however! Also, we weren't expecting this to be an alcohol-free establishment. We love a good margarita with great Mexican food!

This place looked fun and hip so I decided to give it a try. Food--6/10. I tried the birria ramen. The flavor was okay and I was several bites in not able to place what seemed off to me when I finally realized there was no cheese. I guess a birria anything feels a little off with no cheese. I checked the menu and realized it doesn't mention cheese so I'm guessing this is how they just make it but it feels like they miss a major aspect of the whole birria concept. Service--5/10. They've been open for a while but the staff just feels lost with how to fulfill their duties. They don't even take your order they point you to the kiosk and are very standoffish if you need assistance. When they brought my order to me, they just kind of tossed it on the table. I was sitting at while waiting and walked away. Atmosphere--8/10. Probably the only good thing I have to say about this place is it has a very aesthetically pleasing environment. Nice patio seating. Beyond that it lacks any real appeal to me.

This was my first time trying this spot since its opened. Been craving tacos and wanted to try something new. I'll first start by saying the process to order was super easy, they have 2 kiosk near the entrance of the door so you walk in and see the menu and order. The food is a bit pricey to be honesty, we ordered - Steak nachos (8.5/10) $15.99 - Mahi Tacos (6.5/10) $15.99 - Caribbean Tacos (9/10) $15.99 - Mango Lemonade (7/10) $4.99 - Strawberry lemonade (7/10) $4.99 - Chips and queso (4/10) Caribbean tacos were the star of the show!!! loved the plantains with the salty. So good The steak nachos had a twist with the corn and it was so very good. Mahi tacos were good but I have had better I liked cantina Louie's better Lemonades were good just wish they tasted a bit more fresh which is really just a preference but it was good. The service was great and prompt The chips and dip was my least favorite, the chips were stale as all get out and the cheese tasted more like a nacho cheese than a queso for the price I was disappointed. Definitely edible just not my preference. My friend got the chicken ramen and said it was delicious, however they lost track of her order and she waited a good 25 min after we all received our food for her to have to tell them they forgot her food. Once they were notified it was brought to the table within 5 min. The ambiance is modern and clean. Bathrooms were spotless!

First time visit to Talkin Tacos. It was easy to find and plenty parking available. We ordered at a kiosk, but plenty staff working to help with questions. Ambiance was casual and had cool murals on the walls with a neon vibe. Started our meals with a mango lemonade, it was nice and sweet. Our meals were good, husband got the birria tacos and I got a taco rice bowl. The sauces in the bowl were interesting and added a tangy, sweet flavor. Churros were not great, barely any cinnamon sugar coated on them so that was disappointing and I threw them out. Flavors were ok, we found the rice to be lacking any flavor. There are sauces and hot sauce available. But these are not traditional Mexican flavors, despite the horchata, churros, and Tajín & chamoy desserts on the menu. Maybe more of a fusion take on Mexican, in my opinion, as I found the flavor to be lacking.

Mexican options are limited in Oakleaf so I was very excited about Talkin' Tacos coming here. We gave it a couple weeks after opening to settle down before trying. First off, maybe I'm just becoming a crusty old man, but I'm not a fan of ordering off a tablet. And not getting chips & salsa at your table is a red flag for me. That being said, the food was pretty good. I had the birria tacos. They're not the best, but they're pretty tasty. My son had the birria grilled cheese with a spicy tomato soup for dipping and he went crazy for it. My youngest enjoyed her tacos as well. Horchata was very tasty, but I was unable to take advantage of the complimentary refill as they ran out. At 6PM on a Saturday. That's just poor planning. Was it good? Sure. Was it worth $100 for a family of four? Absolutely not.

This was just ok for me. The drink was not flavorful at all. I ordered online and it was ready by the time I got there. The kid's steak taco did have a little kick to it so keep that if mind if you order it for a kid. I think I might try it again. There was a good bit of people inside.

It's always exciting getting a new restaurant in Oakleaf and for once it's NOT a chicken restaurant! And anytime there's birria, we're there! My family of 4 went to dine in on a Saturday at 6p. For a new restaurant, it surprisingly wasn't slammed. When you walk in, you immediately go to the left where they have 2 kiosks to order from. There were about 7 or 8 people in front of us, but it moved fairly quickly. There was a staff member handing out physical menu cards, so that helped us know what we wanted by the time we got to the kiosk. I would recommend checking out their menu online and getting a feel for what you want so you aren't taking an eternity at the kiosk. Just fyi, only kids meals come with a drink and not all entrees come with a side. The meals gets pricey! After ordering we got a table number and had to choose our table. They have indoor seating with tables and bar like seating on one of the walls. It's surprisingly smaller inside than I thought it would be, but there was enough seating where nobody had to wait. There's outdoor seating as well. We chose to sit outside on the patio since it was nice out. The food came out in about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, they didn't bring all 4 of our entrees out at one time. My husband and I ordered the birria tacos. Those came out first. Everything tasted fresh. I was able to order the birria on flour tortillas since I don't like corn tortillas. The tacos had a good amount of meat and cheese in them. With a squeeze of lime they were really tasty. The consume to dip the tacos in was good. Could have been a little more flavorful for us, but overall was decent. I wouldn't say it's the best birria I've had, but it was good and my mouth was happy. We both ordered horchata as our drink. It was more creamy than other horchatas we've had and A LOT more cinnamon. They dumped a ton of extra cinnamon in it after being poured onto the cup. We enjoyed it though. Just make sure you're a cinnamon lover if you're going to get it. After we both got through about 2 tacos, our son's food showed up. He ordered the birria grilled cheese. It came with fries and spicy creamy tomato soup to dip it in. He thought it was delicious. He was hoping it also would have come with the consome for a true Birria experience. Thankfully they gave us a good amount for the tacos, so it wasn't a problem sharing. He also ordered a pineapple Jarritos for a drink and loved it. I didn't get to try his sandwich but I did try a fry. He thought they were great. They were crispy and almost had a battered coating on the outside. I thought they were awful, but it's because they tasted like they were fried in the same oil as they put the corn tortillas in. No likey that flavor at all. A few minutes after he got his meal, our daughter got hers. She had the kids meal and chose two tacos, fries and a miniature apple juice. Her tacos were actually really large. I was impressed. She also took part in our consume and dipped her tacos in it. She gave two thumbs up to her meal. So the disappointment of this place was with us not knowing it was a kiosk ordering restaurant. With two smaller kids it would have been nice to have water at the table along with chips and salsa while we waited for food. Because we had to buy something to drink, our meal started at $60 and then turned into $75 after the drinks. Not thrilled about this. My husband is respectful and always tips, even though nobody did any table service for us, and our total then came to $98. I understand it pricey to eat out nowadays but no water at the table, no chips were provided on the table or even as a side dish to our $16 tacos? For this price and what it was, I can't justify coming here often for $100 for dinner. The food was pretty good though so I would tell anyway to try it once. For the price though, I can't justify coming here often.

The 30% off code - LOVETACOS - is good on the entire menu on Taco Tuesdays. The deal & code are advertised on a window poster you'll notice as you walk up in addition to another poster advertising a great lunch deal available. I ordered the Shrimp Tacos (corn tortillas, lettuce, breaded fried shrimp, chipotle mayo, and cilantro) minus pico & they were great. The shrimp were freshly fried and steaming hot. I had to wait a bit because a large catering order was being finished as I arrived. The manager offered me a free Jarritos and apologized profusely for my wait. I took it as a good sign that their tacos are that popular plus it gave me time to enjoy the gorgeous murals by ARTBYJAE. I visited the Baymeadows location (open until 3am Fri/Sat & 1am Sun-Th) & they now have a second location on Parental Home Rd (open until 1am Fri/Sat & 11pm Sun-Th).

The floors were sticky and our shoes stuck to the floor. The women's restroom was out of order. The kiosks seem like a good idea but nobody there to ask questions or to get your drinks. If you can catch one of the two people working as they bring out orders you are lucky. The menus on the kiosks are pretty informative though and tell the ingredients for each item. Kiosk automatically adds 20% tip unless you change it. Considering you don't have any interaction with employees until they bring out your order other tipping options might apply. They cook to order which is nice except you don't get your drinks or your appetizers until it's your turn. There is a comment section to type no tomatoes or special instructions. Mine still came out with tomatoes but they promptly remade it for me. The food is pretty good. No complaints there other than having to remake one of my tacos. The chips and queso was pretty good. Chips were dusted with spices and served hot. We tried 6 different tacos and they were all very good. The tortillas were toasted on the grill which makes a big difference. You can get flour or corn tortillas. The chicken and steak were marinated before grilling and were big cubes and plentiful. The menu has a pretty big variety including a kids menu with chicken and fries. The last comment is their fountain machine for drinks. The coke tasted off. They may need to recalibrate it. Drinks are served in small clear throw away cups and the lids don't fit very well. Refills are hard to get. You have to wait for someone to come out of the back. If these small complaints don't bother you the food is very good.

We came for a quick impromptu Taco Tuesday date night, as we were trying to eat at another restaurant near that had a long wait time. Tepey's started its roots as a small food truck during the Covid-19 pandemic while Luis and team worked on building out the brewery. I ordered the Wet California burrito with steak, and it was mostly rice and beans with very little steak. The "wet" was just queso poured over the top and onto the plate.
