They were a solid pair from a road bicycle that appear to have a sealed bearing, which is quality for certain. He also gave me some tips for a long bike tour that I was about to undertake. He was very honest and candid with me and didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need, even though I asked him specifically what he would recommend to me. He mentioned the shop is largely for the community and is a charity of sorts. When I was there they had an open bike repair center - where you are free to use the tools they have to fix your bicycle. There were a number of children there taking advantage of this free service offered. A great place to stop by if you are on a tour and could use some parts/components cheap, need to use the tools or gain some insight from the workers there.

Curtis treated me like someone whose time and questions truly mattered. He listened to what I needed, asked thoughtful follow‑ups, and never once tried to upsell me into something that didn't fit my needs or style. Curtis knew the details of this bike without ever sounding rehearsed. He kept me apprised of the bike's progress, build, and readiness. At pickup, he walked me through an orientation and maintenance tips that were actually useful and never made me feel rushed. Pricing felt fair, and the post‑sale service was just as good. Curtis tuned the bike before I left, double‑checked the fit, and encouraged me to come back for complimentary adjustments after a few rides. If you're looking for a place that combines expertise, friendliness, and genuine enthusiasm for cycling, Black Rock Bicycles deserves your business. I left with a bike I love and the confidence that I can rely on them for anything I need down the road.

Kiwanis is amazing!…read more I highly recommend visiting them. They have great staff and prices for used bikes. I am all about reusing old bikes. They take great care of rebuilding old bikes and I really love that about this place. Next time I am in the market for another bike this is my stop. We got an old kids bike from a relative and I remember that Kiwanis can resort old bikes. I thought we could give it a try and man was it ever a great idea. I will definitely be back. I like supporting local shops and especially non-profits. If your looking to get an expensive brand new bike this is probably not the place for you. But if your looking for a good bike for a reasonable price, this is an amazing place to go. I am just super happy with their service. I can't say enough about the great service and treatment we got. Obviously, treat others the was you want to be treated but the gentlemen who work on the bike was outstanding and very polite. Again, I highly recommend checking them out. Just amazed at this place. They have plenty of parking and the location is not on a busy street which is nice. Also, I saw people there fixing and tuning their own bikes. I think they have classes there for that. I am not sure but it is a good way to learn and do your own maintenance on your bicycle. I am definitely considering on taking a class or two. That is all I could think of for now.
