Lamb momo - IG @bougiefoodieboi
Kyle W.

I went here around 7:30pm on a Sunday and it was still pretty busy, but we got seated within 5 min. This place has nice, eclectic ambience with Nepali/Tibetan vibes as there is a lot of items and paintings laying around the restaurant walls and furniture. It is a smooth transition from the bustling Capitol Hill, although it is closer to the light rail station which is convenient for commuting but also not located in the busy Pike/Pine area of Capitol Hill. We tried 2 different momos (fried momo with lamb, chicken tikka masala) and Annapurna curry with chicken. The fried momo came with 3 different dipping sauces that supplement very well, and I liked the spicy one and the peanut one the most. The chicken tikka masala momos were interesting as they were on a small skillet with green peppers and onions. The Annapurna curry was well spiced but a bit watery, but there is a good amount of chicken. All 3 dishes were more than enough for 2 people to share. Service is good as water refills were present and they deliver the food promptly. Service charge 15% is included, which is pretty good as most other places force 18-25% service charge which can be way too much if they do not adequately deliver on service.

Annapurna was incredible! The food was delicious, the ambience was just right for our small get together, and we had a lovely time. One brief caveat before I rave about the food--the intake process is highly unorganized. I asked the first individual I saw about our reservation and he just told us it's "on the other side". Okay, where? We go across the hall and down and someone greets us, then asks if we want a table. I remind them about our reservation and they are unsure if they can seat us. Then as the woman who is helping us is grabbing menus, another man comes and asks us if we want a table... they are just not coordinated. They ended up seating us at a far away corner of the restaurant and at some point the man came to us and said "look you're over here away from everyone! Don't you love it??" Weird. Okay but onto the food. The momos (we got 3-4 different kinds) were all absolutely fantastic. we also ordered a few curries and went with the medium spice level which I think was right for a table that claimed to be able to handle a bit of spice but in reality can't handle too much. Personally I would have gone spicier. I ordered a chai and it was heavenly! So flavorful but it didn't end up conflicting with my sleep so that was great. The recommendations from the server were all excellent and every dish was loved by the table which leads me to believe it's hard to go wrong here. Ultimately after we were seated everything was conducive to an enjoyable time--great company, great food, and nice ambience that struck the balance between bringing the food at a reasonable pace but also giving us space to enjoy ourselves.

Went late on a Sunday night with 4 people and we were seated immediately. The food was very flavorful, and my friend who is pescatarian was well accommodated for. The garlic naan was so good, I wish we had gotten two. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

I've been here for take out and dine in multiple times, and I've enjoyed my experience every time. This has been one of my favorite restaurants since I was in high school.

Solid Indian foods that I had in Seattle. Went here for my friend's bday (she loves Indian foods and doesn't eat meat, but I do). We sat down in the basement but it's alley cause the services here are great and it makes up for the lacking of sunlights and the street views. We order bunch of dishes (non meat of course) but I managed to order a lamp curry dish...man it was delish - of course the others too since we finished them all. Love this place.

We weren't sure where we were going on Broadway and decided to pop into Annapurna. I've walked by it forever (in relative terms - it's older than my daughter who I brought with me). We were seated immediately in the Yeti Bar (it was only 4:45) and supplied with excellent pappadum. We ordered the lamb kothay momo to start with. We followed that with sekuwa, garlic naan, and one of the classic combos (I missed the name but it has a chicken curry). The momo came out very quickly and were fantastic. We loved them plain and with the various sauces. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. The chicken curry was fantastic (we ordered 2/3 spicy stars). We loved all of the sides. I can't believe it's taken so long to stop by and try it. Our service was very friendly and the food was great. If you're in town try Annapurna.

Wow, what an incredible meal! We were overdue for a date night, and decided to hit a bar before Annapurna. Walking into the hallway decorated with lanterns and twinkling lights helped you immerse into the transformative dining experience. We got a table during a busy Saturday night. We lucked out on a 4top for 2ppl! We needed space for dishes. We went a little overboard on apps. If we should have passed on anything, it would have been the calamari. We love chickpeas, but the breading wasn't doing it for us. The tensing momo was above and beyond!! I also adored the crispy rolls. We decided on chicken tikka masala and annapurna curry with lamb. AMAZING! Combine them both if you're daring. It's hard not to keep dipping, and the naan was soft on inside and crispy on outside. Service was quick! Our copper glasses stayed full. Will be back!

Chicken Tensing Momo and Garlic Naan

Been here several times now and always love my food. Today we ordered chicken Tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, vegetable kofta, chicken momo, and garlic naan. Everything turned out great! The food wasn't as spicy as I was expecting, but it's so flavorful that I didn't mind. It has been spicier in the past. All the staff was lovely as well.

Chicken Tikka Masala

Solid nepalese and south asian place with dark lighting and the best mango lassi nearby. The Chicken Tikka Masala was well seasoned and adequately creamy but the chicken was a bit tough.

Samay Baji
Brett D.

The first thing I noticed was how yummy the smell was when I entered. The food lived up to the smell. I had the Samay Baji with chicken. I didn't know what wa all on it but each item was full of flavor and tasty. I love trying new foods and I was big disappointed.

Himalayan Curry

Second time wasn't as impressive as my first time, but it's so cheap that I didn't mind it. The paleek/saag paneer (4.5/5 stars) and the naan (4/5 stars) were the only dishes I was super impressed with.

Jaljeera
Sindu K.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. We ordered jaljeera, spinach momos, paneer chili momos, pani puri, malai kofta, and naan. The ambiance is cozy and comfortable. My favorites were the pani puri and momos, which were amazing. However, the jaljeera lacked the authentic flavor and was too mild. The malai kofta was too sweet, had insufficient gravy, and the kofta were a bit hard. The naan was just okay--slightly cold and a bit stiff. I would definitely recommend this place for the momos!

Annapurna curry is a solid 7/10. The Lhasa curry is for sure 10/10. Also can't go wrong with the Tikka rolls.

The currys were piping hot and delicious. I've struggled to find great butter masala in Seattle, and taste of India's hit the mark! Not pictured, but their naans are huge. My husband and I each ordered naan, and the amount of rice, curry, and naan was the perfect amount for a full serving of leftovers. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary samosa appetizers and chocolate torte dessert. Ultimately this place is fantastic and we look forward to coming back- would love to come on a summer evening and sit outside on their patio.

so, this place is pretty clearly, and almost objectively so, made exclusively for westerners…read more what i mean by that is that this place serves Indian food that will not attempt to challenge western palettes in any way - rather its goal is to have people walking out with a mildly positive attitude towards the food. if someone were to ask them how the food was, they will say that it's fine and say that indian food is an underrated cuisine. the first indication of this that caught my eye was on the menu, where it was listed that "all spice levels are American standard". The fact that this is on the menu at an *Indian restaurant* is pretty ridiculous, in my opinion. I'll get to the spice levels later The second indication was when the waiter brought out our naan, and said "Here's your naan bread". I almost laughed out loud at this point. Naan bread? Thank god we didn't order chai or he would've said "Here's your chai tea". when we actually got our food, it was as disappointing as I expected Despite the fact that I ordered the 'Hot' spice level (the second highest), this had utterly no spice at all. I know that I have a high spice tolerance, but you know it's not good when other people at my table who have a low tolerance cannot taste any spice whatsoever. I've had hotter dishes ordering the 'Hot' level at American restaurants! In addition to there not being any spice, there was pretty much no flavor at all to the curries. There was just no point to the gravy on both the Jaipuri "Masala" and the Vegetable Kofta, as it both cases it was quite bland and essentially tasted like nothing. The paneer and the kofta were ok - but nothing more than average. Again, the lack of any kind of flavor is just crazy. Our table also got the Biryani, which had decent vegetables but also suffered from a lack of flavor The roti and garlic naan that we got were really hard and difficult to break apart. not very good at all If you're Indian - do not come here - you'll get far better Indian food either a) at home or b) at another place If you're not Indian - I would highly recommend trying another place to actually get a taste of what Indian food is really like. This watered-down version simply isn't it. I would recommend Saffron Grill in Northgate for an example of Indian food done correctly on the positive side, one thing i appreciated about this menu is the customization available for different curries this is especially helpful when it relates to giving options to vegetarians, as it doesn't restrict people who are vegetarian to specific curry options having paneer, vegetables, and tofu options available for each curry is pretty good i also thought the spinach naan was pretty good. out of all the bread we ordered, it was the only naan that managed to be soft, and easy to pull apart the spinach inside tasted pretty good as well the complimentary samosas (although clearly reheated from frozen) and sweet at the end was a decent touch the portion sizes were also decent - the amount of rice that came with the curry was pretty significant

We were really hungry and decided to join them as I've had this spot saved too as the reviews were pretty positive. They were definitely very popular but we were put on the waitlist but I think it would be helpful if they took peoples' numbers as apparently they would just shout it outside. We weren't aware as we went somewhere else to wait as it was very cold. When we arrived, a different employee started cleaning a table for us and we waited but then the employee who did put us down was frustrated with us as he called us and no one of us answered cause we were elsewhere. We weren't sure if we had a spot after that but luckily the employee who was cleaning was done and offered that spot. They also did drop a glass cup after cleaning nearby which was concerning but they did clean it up right away. Once we were seated, it took almost a half an hour to get some to take our order. Luckily we did get our water refilled decently but there were a few times where our empty glasses were seen and ignored. I definitely think there should be staff training as it was non-existent. I understand being busy but you're across the convention center so it should be expected. The music was also so low I didn't know it was even on, they have a loud fan going on and even their TVs have no volume. It's a pretty awkward ambiance, especially with how they try to look like they are a upscale restaurant. It did take some time to get food and it seems like the kitchen was frustrated too as I heard the bell signaling food being ready several times. The food was actually good, especially for the price. The portions are generous. We never had paratha but our friend recommended it so we got the aloo paratha while my boyfriend got their butter masala and I got their tikka masala extra hot. It wasn't really spicy at all, definitely nothing like what I've had at other Indian restaurants. The curries were flavorful with good pieces of chicken. We might return if we need something nearby but there are definitely better options that I would walk for.
