Have passed Annabelle (previously Nora) for years but never been. That changed last week when I stopped here on a whim with friends while checking out first Friday art walk across the street. So glad we did! It was a gorgeous night and no one on their cute and inviting patio. We just did cocktails, beer and wine...and an appetizer (crudo with caviar, delish). they gave us the most delicious bread and butter even though we were just drinks but I'm sold, I'll be back for full dinner soon!

Nice restaurant week meal in January 2026. Great service and interesting, well made drinks. The appetizers we tried were all very good--the squash soup was gingery and hearty, the leeks were nice, and the salad with calamansi vinaigrette was refreshing. The entrees were also good, my friends liked the branzino and mushroom risotto, my lamb wasn't my favorite--it was a strange rectangle of meat, it was a bit tough, and the brown sauce wasn't very flavorful, and the parsnip puree was fine. The desserts were quite good--we tried the raspberry chocolate mousse, eggnog cheesecake with whiskey ganache, and orange curd cake; dessert was probably the best, most consistently great course. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly, not too loud and not rushed.

Came to Annabelle for restaurant week with one of my friends and had such an amazing time. From start to finish, everything was on point. I started with the squash soup and it was super warm and packed with flavor -- honestly the perfect way to start the meal. For my main, I got the branzino and it was cooked to perfection, really well balanced and just done right. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse and it was also great -- rich but not too heavy, and a perfect ending. My friend also loved his food and the cheesecake dessert! The ambience is such a vibe -- cozy, stylish, and just really good energy all around. Also have to mention the bathroom mirror because it's elite for selfies. Our server Chris was amazing as well -- super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Overall, amazing food, great service, and great vibes. Would definitely come back soonnn

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The restaurant is lively and I was able to grab walk in seats at the bar. Dinner was exceptional and the bartender was attentive and polite, his recommendations were spot on.

Annabelle is in such a cute spot in the DuPont/ kalorama area and the bar is beautiful, so I really wish I liked it better. The food is outrageously overpriced for what you are receiving. The quality is generally there, but some of the dishes miss the mark. Pork belly was too fatty, and most of the dishes were just okay.

Annabelle provided one of thee BEST restaurant experiences I've ever had! The feng shui was pure perfection! We were seated in one of their private rooms and it felt like we were in a literal greenhouse. The air was so fresh and the natural made it feel like a movie! The gold accents and pops of color were so pleasing to the eye. The staff was so attentive and informative. They welcomed us with smiled and insight regarding the menu! They were polite! I want to give a HUGE shoutout to the estaurant Manager Dina and our waitstaff Arin! When I say I LOVE them! They made us feel like we were the only guest and more over they made us feel like more than just dining guest! Dina and Arin are perfect examples of what 5 Star customer service looks/feel like! The food was nothing short of extraordinary! The oysters were ridiculously fresh and tasty. The mignonette and lemon with the oysters were a perfect pairing. We also had the Braised Pork Belly and the Roasted Leaks! The pork belly was seasoned so well and the hosin ju was a match I never knew I needed! The leaks we new for me and they were DELICIOUS! They melted in my mouth. I could've eaten 10 more LOL!! Our cocktails were good, they felt like they were made with fresh ingredients. I could taste how fresh the basil and mint was in my Basil Mint Mojito. My friend got a Mezcal Paloma and you can tell it was a fresh squeezed grapefruit, they smoke flavor wasn't overpowering. Light but deliberate. Extremely well crafted cocktails! For our entrees we got the Branzino with watercress salad and King Salmon with roasted fennel! The branzio was cooked to perfection! The watercress salad was but the flavor palette was excellent! The king salmon was tender and moist! Paired with the rusted fennel, grape tomatoes and sauce vierge, I felt like I was on a cloud! Everything was SO good! To finish it off we had the Vanilla Bean Peach Cheesecake and the Lemon Blueberry Poppyseed Cake. The cheesecake was by far the creamiest cheesecake I've ever had an I don't even like cheesecake! It was a great balance. The lemon blueberry poppyseed cake had the right amount citrus and blueberry. They poppyseed brought a great texture! Literally EVERYTHING I ate was amazing! I definitely plan on going back and recommending to everyone I know! Thanks for an amazing experience Annabelle

When researching dinner options for this trip, I stumbled across Annabelle, a retro-chic restaurant near Dupont Circle/ Embassy Row. The large blue awning and corner spot helped my Lyft driver easily find this restaurant. I fell in love with the beautiful restaurant. The prints on the walls, which vary in style depending on the room, the bold colors and prints of the seating upholstery, and the artful plant hanging from the skylight created a nice ambiance. I did note that the restaurant was loud; I heard snippets of conversations from several tables. The menu is seafood-forward. On the night of my visit, smoked salmon, oysters, scallops, snapper, cod, and bass were available. Steak, chicken, and a pasta dish rounded out the curated menu. I had the roasted beets and parsnip salad. It was, in a word, divine. Of course, I am partial to both and have to admit that I greedily gobbled up the salad quickly. The wild striped bass was bathed in citrus butter and was served with sweet potatoes and fennel. It was well composed, and I regret not being able to finish it, especially if I wanted dessert. I went with the citrus crème brûlée, which was not a great choice. The dessert came out perplexingly, both hot and cold. So hot from running the dessert under the broiler and cold from being stored in the fridge? Both extreme temperatures in one bite. It was just not a pleasant taste. Service was attentive. The table was cleared and cleaned quickly, refills were brought out before my drink was empty, and my water glass was continuously filled, all of which, I really appreciated.

My friend and I visited Annabelle for Restaurant week in DC and it was incredible! Let's get into the details: First things first, the ambiance is very sultry, quiet, and upscale. The restaurant is dimly lit inside so when you put on your best outfits to go, make sure you get pictures before coming inside. The bathrooms were extremely clean and well maintained as well. Loved it. The service was outstanding. Our server Chris was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and each recommendation he made , we loved! He also did a great job of giving us enough time to enjoy our meal and chat, but also made sure we were not neglected. All of the food came out in a timely fashion , even though when we visited, it was nearing closing time. Very impressive and an incredible experience. Now the eats, wow. My date and I started off with this Squash soup and bread for the table and wow! One of the most unique food my Pallete has ever been blessed with and I enjoyed every millisecond of it! Run, don't walk to try this. My date loved her oysters as well and said they were very fresh For the main course, I had the braised lamb. 10/10! This lamb was everything I expected and more. So flavorful, tender, and the flavor profile was absolutely exquisite. My date ordered the branzino and said that it was to die for. So flavorful, just the right amount of flakiness, just amazing. Dessert kept the good vibes going! I had the eggnog cheesecake and my goodness! I wish I could recreate it at home. It was absolutely delectable and I savored every bite. It was light enough to be enjoyable but favorable enough to let you know that it's still a cheesecake. My date loved her torté as well and she really enjoyed that it was not overly sweet. For drinks, I tried the Oaxacan holiday that our server recommend and it was amazing. I love spicy drinks and this was just perfect. Overall, Annabelle became an instant favorite for us and we will be visiting again, restaurant weekend or not!

What a special place from one of the best restaurant groups! The interior is so dark and cozy, dimly lit and romantic. I love the vibe. Before 6 on a weekend it was pretty quiet but quickly picked up with lots of people coming in. The only negative was the service between courses and waiting was kind of slow. However, the food was excellent! I loved the beef tartare which was so fresh and light. The oysters were delicious and not too briny. Each dish was smaller in serving size and healthy. You will not have leftovers but each course is still an okay size, but the food is on the lighter side. I loved the steak tenderloin. Literally so tender and cooked to perfection. I only wish they served more mashed potatoes with this dish. I also tried the mushroom risotto, lighter than other risottos and almost soupy. Lots of flavor going on in this dish and so yummy for a cold night. The server gave us two mini chocolate chip cookies to end our meal - perfect! I will be back.

From the cod (fishy) to the wagu the tempature of the foods were lukewarm/room temperature and in some cases the food was not seasoned. However, the dessert was delicious.

We had a really nice family dinner at Annabelle. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. The small plates were my favorite. I loved the Spanish octopus and the Parisian gnocchis. The flavors were rich. The bread and butter were also outstanding. My main dish (Amish chicken) was good but not mind blowing. I felt like they could have done something different with the dark meat. And the sweet potato puree was more like a sauce. The German chocolate cake was stellar! Don't miss out on that! The service was fantastic. Really friendly waiter. He was great! The restaurant is fancy and great for a special occasion dinner. I would recommend checking out Annabelle.

Came here for a date night recently and had the best and intimate dinner with my boyfriend. I think I saw somewhere in the precious reviews that there is valet, but when we came there wasn't ? (Do with that as you will lols) but we found street parking relatively easy to find. Annabelle's is a beautiful fine dining restaurant located on the corner street of Florida Ave, and I had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The waiters were professional and so kind, and really did made a great effort to ensure that my boyfriend and I had a nice enjoyable dinner together. I started off my meal with grilled oysters and they were DELICIOUS. I'm not an oyster girl at all, but thoroughly enjoyed these - they sit in some kind of butter sauce and I gobbled them down quickly. From there I had some grilled octopus and their chicken dish which both were cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a quiet dinner with your person with an intimate ambiance, Annabelle's is the perfect place to go!

Super popular tourist spot (and with good reason!),I def reccomend making a reservation. Luckily for my visit on a Saturday at 1pm, the wait to be seated wasn't too long, only about 10 minutes. I've never had oysters anywhere besides New York so I wanted to try them here and my mom got the fried oyster deviled eggs. Our sever Stephanie was such a delight and probably has the coolest pin collection I've ever seen. Also the restaurant just has a really beautiful atmosphere to sit down and enjoy some really great hospitality. Onto the food! Oysters were smaller than I thought they'd be but SO FLAVORFUL and just the right amount of brine, and slid beautifully from the shell 10/10 The deviled eggs were given a 10/10, presentation was beautiful and the pickled relish was a well rounded addition We then finished up by sharing the cheasapeake eggs Benedict! Which featured their famous crab cake. The HOLLANDAISE?? literally danced in my mouth. The crab meat was so tender and buttery! Only difference I would've loved if the smoked paprika that was on the deviled eggs to also be featured on the Benedict! Over all it was a very lovely and sense awakening experience 9/10

Old Ebbitt is famous for it's crab cakes according to the server so you know what direction I went in. They were more like a Maryland crab cake which has a ton of meat. They also asked that all attendees in your party are present so remember that to be seated. Situated near the White House, and directly across the street from The Department of Treasury, it's an ideal spot for a meal before or after site seeing. What's clear about Old Ebbitt Grill is its longstanding appeal. President McKinley was such a fan he reportedly lived there during his Congressional days. Presidents Grant, Johnson, Cleveland, and Roosevelt all stopped in, basically making it a hot spot in Washington. If it's President approved you should go also!

The food is solid, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the service is always perfection. This time I had the Filibuster Smash Burger. OMG so good! The menu said the sauce had jalapeno in it but there is not even a hint of spiciness on this burger. However, it is a total huge mess to eat so I had to eat like a grandpa, cutting the burger with a knife. But I didn't care because I loved this burger! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take many photos because my phone was dying, but the hostess was incredibly kind and offered to charge my phone for me in their space. That small gesture made the experience even better. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The biscuits were perfectly done--not dry at all, but buttery, soft, and even better with the pimento cheese spread. The combination was amazing! My steak was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, while the broccoli had the perfect crisp texture that added a nice balance to the meal. The restaurant itself has a beautiful rustic yet modern atmosphere. The dim lighting creates a cozy feel, with most of the brightness coming from the natural sunlight that fills the space. Between the incredible food, welcoming service, and inviting ambiance, this spot is definitely one I would return to again.

Dined in restaurant on a Saturday around 8pm. When I approached the hostess table, she asked "table…read morefor 2?" even though I was by myself. She was most likely on auto pilot and appeared embarrassed when she realized it. I politely smiled and said (confidently), table for 1. We solo diners need to be loud and proud! I digress... Before being seated I found the restroom. I found it odd that it was extremely dim. The main dining room was brighter than the restroom! I also saw the Photo Booth. Interesting addition. $5 for pictures. I was seated at a small round table with two chairs by the window. The restaurant was plenty busy, and I'm just glad I wasn't asked if I wanted to sit at the bar (I didn't). My server Noel brought two bottles of water: still and sparkling. I requested lemon slices, which he brought. And I proceeded to finish the entire bottle of sparkling by the end of the meal...guess I was thirsty! But I appreciated the option of both. I forgot to ask for a straw, but saw them in a container at the register right behind my table, so I got one myself. After ordering I noticed a nearby table had some bread so I asked Noel if they served complimentary bread. He said yes and apologized for not bringing it initially. Not that I needed it, but I don't eat bread with butter often and this was a night out to indulge a bit. There were two slices, nothing special. My food arrived within about 10-15 minutes and looked so scrumptious. I ordered the lamb and short rib meatballs and Brussels sprouts. The meatballs were pretty good, but what made them even better was the tzatziki sauce. I didn't realize the green rice was on one side of the plate until I was almost done. That tzatziki sauce was really all I needed to go with the meatballs. It was cool and creamy to go with the dry, meatiness of the meatballs. I honestly wish there had been more of it! I did not finish the rice, which didn't look super appetizing because of the intense green color. I will say though, I'm not a fan of spicy food but the tzatziki had a kick. I think perhaps due to chopped jalapeños. I tried to avoid them once I realized. The Brussels were delicious! Roasted to perfection, not too charred and not too mushy. I requested the green goddess sauce on the side because I'm not a huge sauce person, but once I tried it, I couldn't stop. Again, the combination of the creaminess of the sauce with the flakiness of the Brussels was a genius pairing. During the meal the beverage manager stopped by. I didn't have any drinks with the meal, but perhaps I will return to see what they have. Noel brought the bill at my request, then brought over the portable device so I could pay at the table. While that process is efficient, it's always awkward leaving a tip when the server is standing right there. Anyhow, overall it was a good experience and a delicious meal!

It ended up being a little dry, but the fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and a hit with everyone at the table. My son had the NY strip steak with mashed potatoes and really enjoyed it. The steak was cooked well, and the mashed potatoes were incredibly creamy and smooth. I ordered the sugar snap pea salad with salmon, and it was exactly what I was looking for on a hot summer evening. The salad was fresh, light, and refreshing, with a subtle hint of mint that really made the flavors pop. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with the salad. My friend ordered the sugar snap salad with chicken Milanese, and the portion was enormous. The chicken literally covered the entire plate! It looked delicious and would easily satisfy a hearty appetite. The Mac & cheese was cooked well with a nice crust on top. Overall, the food was fresh, the portions were generous, and there was something for everyone. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in DC.

We visited…read moreover the 4th of July weekend, and even with the holiday crowds, the experience was just as great as always. We've only been here for brunch, and it has been consistently excellent. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the restaurant is always clean and inviting. One thing that really stands out is their customer service. On our last visit, we arrived just five minutes before they switched from the brunch menu to lunch, and they still let us order brunch without making us feel rushed. That kind of flexibility and kindness really makes a difference. If you're a fan of Bloody Marys, don't skip them here! They make one of the best I've had and it's the perfect complement to brunch. The atmosphere is lively but comfortable, and unlike a few other restaurants we visited during the summer, they actually keep the air conditioning on, which made our meal much more enjoyable on a hot day. One thing to note is that the restrooms are located downstairs in the hotel next door. They were clean and easy to find once we asked. Overall, Chef Geoff's West End never disappoints. Great food, excellent service, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere keep us coming back every time we're in DC. It's definitely one of our favorite brunch spots, and we highly recommend it.
