I would like to start my review with the positives of Anker. The decor is charming and welcoming and the deck was lovely. The food was amazing. Everything we had was delicious. Kudos to the chef, but he or she better talk to the front of the house or they will be out of job. The drinks were atrocious, the worst maybe we have ever had. The bartender had no clue how to make drinks. My husband tried a few cocktails but they were off every time. My red wine was cold, not room temperature but cold. Actually had condensation on the glass. When I asked about the wine, the bartender said yea, we keep it in the fridge. The server upstairs gave us lunch menus, it was dinner, and never even came back to ask us anything. He was cuddling up with another server at the bar. Both apparently working, but PDA not appropriate. We decided to go downstairs hoping for better service. There was no bartender or server downstairs. We complained to the manager, so after a few minutes of him trying to justify the afore mentioned, he served us. We had a gift certificate hence the only reason we stayed. Our bill was over $200 and the experience was awful. Unfortunately we won't be going back, and it's a shame because the food was very good. Oh, and there were literally 2 people upstairs and then 3 downstairs. read more

The food is like of typically tourism quality and nothing to highlight. Food is served really slow and waitress Jessica messed up our order 2 times and didn't even say sorry. 20% gratitude is included in check by default, which is ridiculously too high! Definitely not recommend! read more

The food at Anker is very good, as are the servers. But, it appears the kitchen isn't equipped to handle the volume of take-out orders they're fulfilling. Two times recently we waited and waited for our food, even though the restaurant itself wasn't full. We know staffing is an issue throughout the area, but it's not ok to keep in-person customers waiting so long for their food. read more

Fish collars! Our waitress Selena was so helpful and prepared for our questions and highlighted the large fish collars among the shares. We were a little nervous but the plate was beautiful and tasted fantastic. The chef is doing great stuff here. Staff was very friendly the top deck is a little loud but love the view and atmosphere. Excited to come back for brunch soon! read more

So after not being able to be seated at Claudio's we wound up at this disappointing disaster of a restaurant- the "New England clam chowder was awful - seemed to have been microwaved and didn't quite heat thoroughly or come together - and it was filled with all kinds of superfluous ingredients that don't belong in a New England clam chowder - scallions and pieces of fish and I don't know what else. Not NE clam chowder - The lobster roll said it had something called YUCU in it and when I asked the waitress what it was she said a kind of garlic butter - which we found out later was actually a citrus fruit and the lobster was soaked in it / was chewy and without flavor. The fries were half burnt and inedible and the salad looked like it was from a spring mix and thrown on the plate- if that wasn't enough this meal w tip cost a whopping $140 - Please chef - take some lessons - horrible and will be cooking from home from now on !!!! read more

New management / ownership does not look good. Took 20 minutes for someone to come get a drink order and the restaurant was not even half full. The menu is trying too hard to be something it's not. Half between confused tapas and trying to be a Hamptons restaurant. read more

Service was poor before the Corona Virus; it is now terrible Tried to order take out dinner At 2 was told to call back at 4:30 At 4:30 was told call back at 5;30 Asked what fish was available for dinner " don't knew yet" At 5:30 was told to call back at 5:45 Told them I was a regular repeat customer - they were not interested Ambitious menu but can't deliver Won't try again read more

If you want location and ambient, this restaurant is a good choice. It is located on a busy street and they have a lovely deck on the second floor. Service was good, food took a while to come. We all enjoyed their food, it was delicious. But the portion is definitely small. The side dishes look way more than the main ingredient, to be honest, for the price I paid, I expected more food. We wanted to order deserts but I gave up that idea because I didn't want to get a cube of cake (lol). We walked to the ice cream place on the same street and each got an ice cream cone. The funny thing was after the ice cream, my mom said "now I finally feel full." read more

Well this place was a waste of money! Lets start off with being ignored to be seated. That should of been a huge red flag to walk out. We made eye contact with multiple employees and were either ignored of I must of forgotten to turn off my invisible button.... Waited a long time for the mediocre clam chowder to arrive and the drinks we ordered shortly after being seated were served well into our meal. They did everything backwards. $76 down the drain! Don't get hooked by the cute pictures! read more

Not much to say...but you're paying for the location and the view. The kids meal of pasta shells and tomato sauce was larger than the adult entree of three shrimp tacos. The kids Fish Fillet is grilled fish not battered. The Watermelon/Tomato Feta salad.....smallest salad Ive ever seen. Star was extremely friendly. But disappointed with the food/prices. read more

To the waitress that served us... Please wear your mask . Wearing on your chin does not help.

Service is horrible here- 2 people that worked there walked right in front of us and didn't offer us to sit down until we asked if they were open. They finally sat us down and took at least 20 mins for them to take our order. Clam chowder soup was not even hot & food wasn't good! drinks were ok. I don't recommend this place at all read more

While we appreciate the recent influx of new and interesting restaurants that the Mueller team has opened, one must not lose sight that there is a large population of locals here who cannot afford the exorbitant prices on any one of these three restaurant menus. Places like these do raise the bar and yes, change is good, but not at the expense of working class people who cannot go out with their family and afford a decent meal. Keep that in mind Anker, when you price a vegetarian dish of broccoli rabe and mushrooms at $26 bucks. read more

We were the only guests here at 8 pm, a tell tale sign. Nice atmosphere, but that's about it. Server was clueless, rushed us to order, ridiculously small portions for the price. A $16 glass of wine for a skimpy 4 ounces? Limited menu. I ordered the cod entree and it was the size of my palm - $38. Food was good though, but the $300 bill was a surprise since we all left hungry. There are far too many other choices in Greenport for better everything. Skip it. read more

The interior is really nice but I can't say the same for the food. Two of my friends and I ordered a lobster roll but it was basically salad stuffed in a hotdog bun and the lobster was treated more like a garnish. For the amount we paid for the meal what they brought us out was pretty laughable. The service was not great either, we were rushed to put in our orders because apparently the chefs were told ahead of time they could leave early since it was a slow evening for business. We didn't even get a bread basket like the other guests had, we noticed this on our way out. So I was confused why they even seated us if the kitchen was going to close. I wouldn't spend my money here again. read more

The food was ok, what there was of it. The restaurant has a very limited menu. The portions are extremely small while the prices are very high. The staff was enthusiastic, though they seem to forget there were patrons dining a few feet away. Didn't take a chance on dessert as the prices were as high as my entree. The food tasted good but not worth the money. We left hungry. read more

Simply put...the drinks were watered down, the service was not responsive, we were not given cocktail napkins so the drinks dripped. The waiters changed on us without acknowledgement. Good:. We were seated quickly. My sangria rosé was good and plentiful. I recommend the place but hopefully the service improves. read more

I've eaten all over the N Fork this summer but I think Anker is the best dinner I've had. Sitting up top over the harbor is really beautiful and the menu is totally unique. This chef is doing things with fish that I've never seen before - fish collars and swordfish marrow. The salads are amazing too, and cocktails are excellent, too. It isn't often that you have a totally unique experience that's also delicious and satisfying- that's what we just had at Anker. read more

Honestly ordered 2 beers, sorry out and 3rd waited as my sister received her martini and finished with receiving my my.... took the check and left. Unfortunate as beautiful space and plated food looked terrific, and staff was very pleasant but only 10-12 people in entire place! read more

What a disappointing meal at Anker last night! I ordered the Fried "Shaved" Flounder, and when it came it was very flat as if it had been pounded by a hammer. It was almost all breading, with just some very tiny pieces of flounder inside the breading. Also, it was hard to cut and chew. It was just very tough. It was served with only a tiny cup of dipping sauce and another tiny cup of some pickled garlic and chilies. Not much for $24. In hindsight now, I should have sent the plate back and ordered something else. This place is just all show, very pretentious. I will definitely not be going back. read more

The bright + airy upstairs bar caught our attention during our first visit to Greenport. We had an early dinner and cold glass of wine on their beautiful roof. The view was so pretty, the staff couldn't have been nicer, and the food was delicious. Fresh fish and veggies. We didn't order dessert but saw a few go by...wow! Will definitely be back next time we're in town. read more

Anker - Bar area downstairs - Seafood Near Me - Greenport, New York

A let is great. Love the bar downstairs in the winter and the outdoor seating upstairs when the weather is nice. The fish collars were great. read more

We order lobster rolls at $35 which were small and rubbery. Sent back Bacon,Egg and cheese focaccia. Bacon was not crispy but thick and rubbery . Had to use a steak knife to cut it. Focaccia was grilled so hard you could not eat it like a sandwich. We had claim chowder at $16 for a small bowl . It was like eating butter and had no claim flavor. Service was good but food was wasted calories read more

Came here as a last resort. Seating was tight and the sun was beating on me. Luckily, we were able to get a new table when another table was cleared. Waiter was very accommodating. Ordered four dishes. Kids fish sticks, scallops dish, bone marrow dish and flounder dish. Starting from worst to best. Scallop dish - looks like they cut up 2 large scallops into multiple slices. Huge waste to have on the menu, $20 for 2 scallops! Flounder was basic but edible. Bone marrow dish was ok. The kids fish sticks was a hit for the kids. Both my boys were able to share the dish, plentiful to share. Check came to $98. read more

Worst meal I have had in a long time. Menu is terrible. Food was tasteless. Waitress was great

Extremely overpriced. Extremely small portions. Very gross food. The mussels are cooked in something green that tastes exactly like canned chicken soup. Kids meals are $14. My son had a very small plate of shells with tomato sauce. Very Chef Boyardee. We are still sitting here and I'm already so furious with the prices for the quantity and quality I'm writing the review from the table. read more

Nice decor. Bartender was very cool. Wost Lobster Roll...All "greens" and fluff... and tiny amount of lobster. All Hat NO Cattle as they say. Poor excuse for a Lobster Roll....should be called a Salad Roll sprinkled with a little lobster since the lobster was more of a garnish than the Greens!! read more

Worst hostess. Did not honor reservations we booked. Manager claimed he'd make it right then disappeared. Disappointed given the price of food. Would never go again. Save your time and money. read more

Had a fantastic meal last Fri at Anker. I was with 2 friends and wandered in for happy hour raw bar, and ended up striking up a conversation with the chef Axel. He told us about a special dish they do - Swordfish Collar - and invited us back for dinner. We liked his passion so we did, and have to say that was one of the tastiest and enjoyable dishes I've ever had. The 'collar' comes out as a large single piece - in our case shared by 3. It could easily have fed 5 or 6. The swordfish you slice off the collar - in large pieces similar to a typical swordfish serving - was fantastic in every way. The presentation was memorable, the taste was phenomenal and the size was more than generous. The only wrinkle is it takes a long time to cook - for a large piece over 45 minutes. The communication was not great about that initially, but the Manager Mike and the wait staff did their best to keep us happy and patient (ok, they lost out on patient:-) ) . In the end we were really impressed and very happy they took their time to prepare it right - it was truly a fantastic and memorable meal. Many thanks to Mike, Axel, and the wait staff for a great dining experience. read more

Went with visiting friends and everything was great from the service to the food! Had fresh clams, oysters and asparagus to start. For main we had swordfish which was delicious! Service and ambiance were wonderful!! read more

Hostess extremely rude, told us 20 minutes when we ended up waiting an HOUR. Had a table of 6 come in after us and got sat right away, that's when we realized it was the hostess friends who got "special treatment" so we obviously had to wait longer. Once had we ate and got the bill, the same RUDE hostess said her goodbyes and made sure we knew she was annoyed with us. So I am writing this review because me being In the restaurant business as well I would never treat anyone the way we were treated. Good mood or bad. It actually put a damper on the night because of a 16 year old hostess. Needless to say, we will not be returning. If I could but no stars I would. read more

Great terrasse setting for dinner. Excellent service. Clam chowder was excellent as was lobster roll.

I gave it a star for atmosphere. Unfortunately, everything else was idssapointing. The menu is limited and the server was clueless and unaccommodating. We were a party of 4 people for lunch and 3 out of the 4 of us were not happy with the food we ordered. The price is not worth the product here. read more

Anker is an exceptionally fine restaurant. The chef is extremely creative and the food is spectacular. Everything we had from the charred Swordfish to the Panacotta with berries was perfect. We loved the ambiance, view and service, This place gets an A +++. read more

So good last time we had to come back and try more. Staff is so welcoming and our server was fabulous! Extremely well versed with the menu and accommodating of our boys. At her recommendation we had the large collars and brisket! Never knew I liked collars but this was fantastic! Very interesting but tasty menu read more

Came here for lunch a month ago. We ordered a salmon salad and fish tacos. Food was very tasty, portions could've been bigger. Four stars as service could've been better- Waiters were lingering at the bar and not all that attentive or friendly. read more

Not ready for prime time. On a quiet weekend evening, service was remarkably inattentive, the lobster roll was a paprika-laden mistake, the fish tacos were bland, and the bathroom had been neglected. read more

Food is too expensive. Small portions. Very slow service. Will not be back. Limited menu. Will need to order a pizza after dinner.
