The interior is really nice but I can't say the same for the food. Two of my friends and I ordered a lobster roll but it was basically salad stuffed in a hotdog bun and the lobster was treated more like a garnish. For the amount we paid for the meal what they brought us out was pretty laughable. The service was not great either, we were rushed to put in our orders because apparently the chefs were told ahead of time they could leave early since it was a slow evening for business. We didn't even get a bread basket like the other guests had, we noticed this on our way out. So I was confused why they even seated us if the kitchen was going to close. The staff was enthusiastic, though they seem to forget there were patrons dining a few feet away. Didn't take a chance on dessert as the prices were as high as my entree. I've eaten all over the N Fork this summer but I think Anker is the best dinner I've had. Sitting up top over the harbor is really beautiful and the menu is totally unique. This chef is doing things with fish that I've never seen before - fish collars and swordfish marrow. The salads are amazing too, and cocktails are excellent, too. Simply put...the drinks were watered down, the service was not responsive, we were not given cocktail napkins so the drinks dripped. The waiters changed on us without acknowledgement. Good:. We were seated quickly. My sangria rosé was good and plentiful. I recommend the place but hopefully the service improves. read more

What a disappointing meal at Anker last night! I ordered the Fried "Shaved" Flounder, and when it came it was very flat as if it had been pounded by a hammer. It was almost all breading, with just some very tiny pieces of flounder inside the breading. Also, it was hard to cut and chew. It was just very tough. It was served with only a tiny cup of dipping sauce and another tiny cup of some pickled garlic and chilies. Not much for $24. In hindsight now, I should have sent the plate back and ordered something else. This place is just all show, very pretentious. I will definitely not be going back. read more

The bright + airy upstairs bar caught our attention during our first visit to Greenport. We had an early dinner and cold glass of wine on their beautiful roof. The view was so pretty, the staff couldn't have been nicer, and the food was delicious. Fresh fish and veggies. We didn't order dessert but saw a few go by...wow! Came here as a last resort. Seating was tight and the sun was beating on me. Luckily, we were able to get a new table when another table was cleared. Waiter was very accommodating. Ordered four dishes. Kids fish sticks, scallops dish, bone marrow dish and flounder dish. Starting from worst to best. Scallop dish - looks like they cut up 2 large scallops into multiple slices. Huge waste to have on the menu, $20 for 2 scallops! Flounder was basic but edible. Bone marrow dish was ok. The kids fish sticks was a hit for the kids. Both my boys were able to share the dish, plentiful to share. Check came to $98. read more

We order lobster rolls at $35 which were small and rubbery. Sent back Bacon,Egg and cheese focaccia. Bacon was not crispy but thick and rubbery . Had to use a steak knife to cut it. Focaccia was grilled so hard you could not eat it like a sandwich. We had claim chowder at $16 for a small bowl . It was like eating butter and had no claim flavor. Had a fantastic meal last Fri at Anker. I was with 2 friends and wandered in for happy hour raw bar, and ended up striking up a conversation with the chef Axel. He told us about a special dish they do - Swordfish Collar - and invited us back for dinner. We liked his passion so we did, and have to say that was one of the tastiest and enjoyable dishes I've ever had. The 'collar' comes out as a large single piece - in our case shared by 3. It could easily have fed 5 or 6. The swordfish you slice off the collar - in large pieces similar to a typical swordfish serving - was fantastic in every way. The presentation was memorable, the taste was phenomenal and the size was more than generous. The only wrinkle is it takes a long time to cook - for a large piece over 45 minutes. The communication was not great about that initially, but the Manager Mike and the wait staff did their best to keep us happy and patient (ok, they lost out on patient:-) ) . In the end we were really impressed and very happy they took their time to prepare it right - it was truly a fantastic and memorable meal. Hostess extremely rude, told us 20 minutes when we ended up waiting an HOUR. Had a table of 6 come in after us and got sat right away, that's when we realized it was the hostess friends who got "special treatment" so we obviously had to wait longer. Once had we ate and got the bill, the same RUDE hostess said her goodbyes and made sure we knew she was annoyed with us. So I am writing this review because me being In the restaurant business as well I would never treat anyone the way we were treated. Good mood or bad. There were only a few other diners and waitstaff were standing around, yet no one even greeted us for 25 minutes. I had to flag the bartender over. He apologized and acknowledged their lack of service, specifically saying "we suck" and offering the first round of drinks on the house. The rest of our meal continued this way. Food was good, but small portions and overpriced. We again had to walk up to the bar to pay our check only to discover he had comped one drink (not the round). Definitely wouldn't go back! Food was excellent. Service was absolutely terrible. My wife and I are super low maintenance, but the wait staff was awful. I waited so long for a glass of wine I actually went to bar and got it myself. We each took turns walking over to waiter stations to grab water, utensils etc that wasn't brought to us. When we first sat down the first words out of the waiters mouth was "what would you like to eat". Just strange. The table next to us was gone for over 30 minutes and their food remained on the table the entire time. We finished appetizers and our plates weren't cleared for over 10 minutes, until we called a bus boy over... again, food was great- but service was not even close to ok. read more

on 8/16/22 my family and I eat @ Anker, then ask for a bill. my daughter ordered black sea bass salad, however as a result of logistics they replaced the bass with cod, but charged us sea bass pricing, I ordered roasted mussel, and after eating the mussels we asked for bread to drip into the garlic butter sauce and was charged $ 6.00 for 3 pieces of bread. felt like being robbed without a gun. the good news is our server Jessica K was awesome. Anker has great food, excellent service, outstanding cocktails, and a beautiful view from many seats upstairs. One note that I hope they'll improve, the vegetarian options are limited and the choices that are offered are served in very very small portions. If anyone in your party is a vegetarian, they'll leave hungry, even if they fill up on bread. The options are delicious, but so so small. I don't mean "this place should have giant portions," I mean "this is a reasonable appetizer, but a main dish needs something more than a few cubes of beet and 1-2 spears of asparagus -- protein, fiber, carbs or just more veggies. The vegetarian option when we were there seemed to consist of less than one whole beet, albeit deliciously prepared, and a couple of spears of asparagus with some very thin crispy rice discs that tasted good as well. Because of this I'll probably only be back for cocktails (the ones we tried were outstanding), but will go elsewhere for meals. read more

Started with a wonderful foamy lobster bisque with sepia tortelloni, deliciously spicy ceviche, and local scallops on a bed of thin sliced heirloom tomatoes. Entrees, mahi mahi tacos with a spicy mayonnaise and the freshest striped bass were impeccable! Try ALL the desserts if you can -- they're quite peerless. Good selection of wines, with emphasis on Austrian whites. and a nice complement of local craft beers (Greenport and Montauk).
