Really disappointing. Visited on a Saturday night and no one at the host stand and only 2 people at the bar; should've been a hint since 2nd street was packed with people for the holidays. We grabbed a table ourselves and eagerly put in orders for some of their holiday cocktails. One in our party wanted whiskey, but, it's not on any menu provided at the table. He went up to the bar and simply looked at the menu there with no offer of service to provide it to him. The bad service was a consistent theme. I asked about beer and was told it was on the tv above the bar, but, I'm seated inside a booth facing the opposite way; no bother to provide some work around. After 2 rounds of drinks server was visibly annoyed that we weren't ready to put food in. We were the only group there at 7:30 on a Saturday night and it felt like they didn't even want us there. We ordered food, but, I kind of wish we hadn't. The wings were way undercooked; one of them was nearly raw inside. Absolutely disgusting. I won't be able to eat wings for a while after that. Bacon and brie sandwich was ok. Steak sandwich was ok. Fries were good. But overall we just wanted to leave. I feel for this location and I think the concept is good. But, the execution is so incredibly poor. read more

I believe the bartenders name that served us was Rachel. She was so sweet. Constantly checked in on us. She was so warm and made sure we had everything we needed. The place itself is super cute. They have a great selection of whiskey which my friend loves. I'm not a big fan of whiskey so I was so happy to see they had different alternatives to whiskey. I came here as soon as they opened on a Thursday and was immediately impressed with their drinks. I typically hate Brussels sprouts, but the ones they make here are something I will definitely be dreaming about for a while. However, there were a few items I really wanted to love but, sadly, didn't meet my expectations. The California figs were a major letdown--they need something extra, perhaps honey or some spice, to enhance the flavor. In my experience, they were quite bland. I felt the same way about the cauliflower--meh. On the bright side, I loved the mussels and the Caesar salad--they were very delicious. We sat in the outside patio, and it was really nice. The service was on point, and I'm happy I came here. Overall, I like this place and hope they make some adjustments, as I'm sure they are only going to get busier. read more

We came in server we had great. took our order we waited literally 40 min for a drink people who came in after us got served before us. They were saying drink is on its way I had 5 glasses of water before a drink. (Never got thebl drink) Finally when we saw the couple who came in way after us get a drink we got up and left honestly we went and ordered fries down the street and got them in 5 min better service and didn't look like he hated his job. 10 out of 10 wouldn't recommend this might not reach the owner we normally dont write negative reviews but really do better 40 min to drink water and no whiskey at all whiskey bar. read more

App came out with the entree and entree (steak frites) was missing some elements. No demi-glaze and when we asked for the garlic aioli as described in the menu, they brought us mayonnaise. For $40. Nope. Never again. This was definitely not a lounge experience worthy of the final cost. Will be sticking to some of the other whiskey lounges in town. read more

Not cooked properly (over cooked burger) and not a ton of flavor (fried burrata). After waiting awhile we had to ask the waitress to remove our dirty dishes. After she did, she did not wipe off the table, which again we had to get her attention and ask her to clean the table. Kind of a weird place. A lot of beer to choose from but the food and cocktails are ridiculously expensive.

Came here with the wifey for a late lunch. Our server Cindy did a great job recommending a few items on the menu. I had the pork belly sandwich and wifey had the butcher burger. Both choices were on point! We also had fries, one order was more than enough for us to share. For drinks, I had the naked and famous and angels club, both were delightful. Went here for food and drinks. Wings were horrible. We had buffalo and mango habanero. We ordered dinner. That also wasn't good. We got a steak sandwich, ribeye steak, and chicken parm. None of them were good. The steak sandwich was blah. The steak was disappointing and horrible. The only thing worth eating was the chicken parm. We only ate that. The drinks were ok. We were looking forward to try this place but it was such a big disappointment we will never go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

First time visiting Angel's Share. Saw that they were having a whiskey tasting for Wyoming Whiskey and that is what got my attention. Seated quickly in a booth. Our server, Gabe was outstanding. Super welcoming, informative and eager to please. Gave us quick overview of the restaurant and said he would introduce us to Hope, the woman in charge of WyomingWhiskey tasting. Order the fried goat cheese balls - wow they are delicious; creamy bite of heaven. 3 on a plate. For dinner we ordered croque monsieur & butchers burger. Along with a side of shoestring fries. The sandwiches were good although a touch "rich". Big plate of fries; enough for 3 people and they were perfect. While waiting for our food, Hope came by with a mini welcome drink featuring Wyoming whiskey. A bit too fruity for us - didn't emphasize the whiskey at all. We then ordered a flight of WW -3 one ounce pours; good for a tasting. Hope gave us the background of WW and the 3 whiskies we were trying. Food came out quickly and nice & hot. Kinda bummed there wasn't more interaction after initial overview to the whiskey tasting. I ordered another ounce of the small batch as I wanted to get a good feel of it. I would have enjoyed another tiny pour of their outryder whiskey just to compare to small batch but didn't want to buy another glass. I guess I expected more of a whiskey tasting and interaction through out the night. Like we've done in Kentucky and Tennessee. Perhaps the restaurant is too small to do this and have regular restaurant patrons. Wish they'd expand in the whiskey tasting aspect with a bit more umph. I've been to Angel's Share a few times and can honestly say I have been impressed. Spoke about it highly to friends and family as a must go and try. I will admit I have not gone since the head Chef Melissa has left and I can say, her presence is missed. I sat at the bar and ordered my go to "smooth operator" and it was different. I do not know if the berries they used were different but it definitely tasted better once the ice melted and it watered down. Okay. Maybe a new bartender. Learning. Possibly. Easy to move on from. Second ordered the mussels bc they looked pretty damn amazing on the gram. The mussels were cooked right and sourdough was fantastic but there was so much salt in the butter sauce they came in it was hard to imagine anyone enjoying that. I'm a salter and for me to say too much salt is a statement. Then I ordered the goat cheese balls which are my wife's favorite and they were basically a chunk of goat cheese dropped in a vat of oil. Absolutely No presentation other than placed on top of random lettuce and sliced apples whereas I'm pretty damn confident they used to be on a bed of mixed greens w a drizzle of something and good enough to photograph. That was a huge bummer bc those were a favorite. Then to be safe, we ordered the shoestring fries which were just regular fries w lots of pepper. No shoe string. Just fries w pepper. I choose appetizers and to sit at the bar because I appreciate trying a bit of everything and the attention you get at the bar. Here I figured I would get the simple and safe staples and one new item. It was a disappointing experience all around even for simple foods. I have no idea who the Chef or sous Chef is now but there should be a consistency with any entree in flavor and seasoning. If you compare Angel's Share to the food at Nick's or Viaje, there has always been a how you got it before will be as you have it again. You can trust the flavor profiles. I'm sorry Angel's Share as much as I like the vibe, the whiskey, the ambiance of the place, it's only going to get you so far in Belmont Shore. I do hope you get back to how your menu was tasting prior to Chef Melissa leaving or at least bring her back to consult on your current selections and work w your Chef to get that menu right. There is a ton of promise for your place and I wish you all the best in getting it as you had it. But right now, you're going to just be a stop and grab a drink then go have dinner elsewhere and that just breaks my heart because I want to see you succeed. read more

Wow! To say that we were impressed with Angel's Share is an understatement. Such an incredible addition to the Shore. It all started with our waiter, Gabe, who was one of the best waiters we've ever had. Kind, charismatic, attentive, and a storyteller. He started with a story of the restaurant, which was appreciated, and made great recommendations from there. The drinks...smooth. Gabe recommended the "Four Freedoms" old fashioned and it is whiskey forward and just smooth and delectable. They have an extension whiskey and beer list. Truly impressive. Food...delicious. Portions are shareable and we shared fries and the New England Reuben, which was surprising in all the best ways. Gabe informed us that the chef changes the menu often and we cannot wait to try more. Our dinner ended with some information on their membership and after the amazing experience we had, we are absolutely considering it. We will be back soon and we will be often. I was looking forward to going to a local whiskey bar coming in from out of town. It was extremely over rated. The high class environment was ruined by the shiny black metal walls in the back. The food and drinks were okay. However, I can have much better food and drinks for the prices elsewhere. The staff was really friendly but the management not so much.
