    Lychee martini & edamame
    Caitie A.

I have heard great things about Anchor Sushi Bar's happy hour & finally had time to stop in and check it out for myself. First, they have happy hour every day (weekends included) 4-6pm at the bar & on the patio. The patio was packed when we arrived but we had no problem finding a spot at the bar. Our bartenders were quick to serve us and offered great recommendations. We sampled the spicy California roll, the shrimp tempura roll, edamame, and pork dumplings. My favorite was the spicy California roll. It was so good that I didn't even get a picture of it before we scarfed it down! I also had a lychee martini. It was so delicious and "tasted like spring". I haven't stopped thinking about that martini since we left!

A cute little fun spot for happy hour. Definitely need to make a reservation since the spot is pretty small. Cute patio seating with good service. The happy hour drink menu is pretty good. Our favorite was the lychee martini. The food overall is ok. The best thing was the Brussels sprouts and edamame. The crispy tuna rice wasn't crispy... but the tuna wasn't fishy so I guess that's a plus. Everything else was decent, no real wow factor. Overall food is 3.5/5 but with the vibe factor 4/5 Would come back with friends!

This review is for 5/28/26. I stumbled across this spot earlier in the day and realized they had a happy hour. Their happy hour is pretty similar to Hudson House & I found out that they're owned by the same private company. I sat outside which isn't always my first choice because I don't enjoy being hot, but the shade from the trees and the over cast actually made it very enjoyable. My server's name was Omar. Omar was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and gave me a list of happy hour options that weren't even listed on the menu that I noticed other servers weren't doing. He always had a smile on his face and periodically made sure I was okay. I started with the spicy tuna crispy rice roll and the espresso. The roll comes with 4 pieces and the texture was different than I expected. It was actually a tasty entree and was just enough to leave room for more... (I'll note that it was the first and last happy hour item I ordered). Next I ordered the spicy tuna roll which is of course a basic roll, but I will say I actually did not like their version. It was played so neatly, but that add some type of salt on top of it which made it too salty (for my liking) and didn't really have much flavor outside of that. Next came the crispy chicken bao bun. It is $4 per bun for happy hour so I ordered two. The chicken was definitely crispy, but was not all that seasoned to me. The bun was of course very fluffy and the sauce and home made pickles sort of made up for that. Each roll for happy hour is $8, but some of the vegetate option ones are $6. All in all I enjoyed my experience, I enjoyed Omar, and will destiny return to try other items. It would have gotten 5 stars but the chicken and regular tuna roll lost a star for me. Other than that, I was pleased.

The girls and I headed here for happy hour on Friday...and everything was perfect! We enjoyed the patio, even though it was a summer day in the middle of Dallas. The misting fans were perfect and cooled everything off well. We ordered a few happy hour apps (1/2 off) and each got a few beverages...of course we had to have diet cokes. Our service staff was great - all knowledgeable and kind (even though a few food runners tried to deliver food to the wrong table). We'll be back...no doubt about it!!

Thought it was pretty good. It's a tiny little restaurant and tiny patio. I made a reservation and they accidentally marked it as a different party- so they got my table inside and we had to either wait 20 minutes or just sit outside. So we sat outside. The staff were all super nice and apologetic about it all. The sushi itself was really good! I got the Sweet and Spicy Roll, and Golden Mango roll (sadly not photoed).

Anchor yourself to something stable because this place will have you spilling your guts. Fish spoilage for sure. Disgusting. This was the second and last time I have ordered from Anchor Bar. I don't think their fish is sushi grade. I had to spit out two rolls because the fish tasted spoiled and old. Not to mention it's expensive as hell. I want my money back. And I want to know where this fish was from and how long it had been sitting. This experience really pissed me off. If you want salmonella or food poisoning, this is your place! If you want good sushi, go anywhere else. Oishi is the best.

We had a great time at Anchor Bar. We started off with the Edamame which was well seasoned and tasted great. We then got the crispy chicken bao buns which were my favorite part of the meal. The glaze on the chicken was incredible. Next, we got two speciality rolls- the baked crab and the best roll. Both were excellent and I would recommend them again. Lastly, the ambiance was good inside the restaurant and their outdoor patio will be perfect for cooler weather. Overall, we would definitely come back here.

Welcoming spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was excellent and the restaurant works together to provide you with an unforgettable experience. Your tastebuds will thank you, try everything! The lychee martini will be a staple! I loved how fresh the sushi was and the presentation. Great spot in Knox!

Had a Valentine's dinner reservation, we're seated quickly outside. The seats were still wet from the torrential downpour but we dried them off and kept chugging along. We got the Pear Martini and the Hibiscus Margarita, both were delicious. To eat, we got the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice to start, which was fantastic. Then the Hamachi Crudo, which was my favorite bite of the night. We got an assortment of nigiri, a few rolls, and the Brussel sprouts, which were very hot but very good. The Anchor Roll was great, the Chef's Pressed Roll could be skipped. The food took a while to come out but that is to be expected with a holiday dinner reservation. Our waiter, Omar, took very good care of us, and we will definitely be back to try their happy hour.

The Anchor Sushi Bar is a beautifully upscale nautical experience with the food quality to match. This menu Cascades from one of a kind Sushi to fresh sashimi to actual hamburgers and such. As you keep going down this menu is where things get interesting. Continuing in their expansive, Asian flavored items would be The Anchor Roll, the zesty fried rice, Sweet and Sour Brussels and house specials such as Thai noodle steak salad, Chicken Wonton salad. Sweet & Sour Brussels are so very nice and pack an unexpected punch. The art ranges from taught culture to entirely in Japanese posters from James Bond, to Sophia Loren and even Steve McQueen. I love it and happy to spend more time at this bar and enjoy the vibe that this spot has curated. Our server was Hannah and was so kind and welcoming and we appreciated her knowing this menu inside and out and curating a perfect afternoon meal for us both!

    Pear martini
    Gabriela Z.

Crispy rice and brussels were tasty. Edamame was gross. It had a spice on it that numbed my tongue. Miso soup was good, as well as lychee and pear martini. My friends liked the anchor roll but didn't like the sunset as much. Overall food was 3/5. Service was ok but they messed up our bill. Told us it was happy hour but charged us full price. If we wouldn't have double checked we wouldn't have gotten happy hour price. Patio was a great vibe.

I made a reservation and placed in the notes the occasion. The preparation and attention to detail was so appreciated. The food was good. In total transparency, the King crab was a bit over cooked. I believe this could be a one off situation because I have had crab here before that was perfect. Although I did not make a huge issue of it the brief mention of it I made to Dawn, my impeccable server, caused her to relay the dissatisfaction. Once the Manager, Deshon Ford, was made aware he truly went through great lengths to make sure I felt appreciated and the concern was addressed. Maggie was also a warm welcome and a delight to encounter. This is what was ordered: King crab: 7/10 the precut of the shell is very helpful. It did not have the natural sweetness I normally experience. The squeeze of lemon does wake up the flavor a little bit but the cook process did not afford the tender luxury as expected. The lemon butter sauce is good but could be great if using clarified butter with minced garlic and a hint of seasoning was considered. Crab fried rice: 7/10 the presentation and the way it was assembled is great. I also like the ingredients. I could not tell if there was crab throughout. I did see the pieces of shredded crab sprinkled on top. This would be a 10 if it was seasoned a bit more to wake up the palette and there was visible lump crab mixed in throughout along with brown butter. Meatball appetizer: 10/10 I could tell the quality of the meat is high. The ingredients and seasoning is on point. They were perfectly cooked. Still tender in the inside and a crisp on the outside. The sauce on top brought the flavor to a well rounded party in your mouth. Natural chicken: 12/10 I tried a few bites of this meal since it was not what I ordered and it was the best meal of all. The chicken was so tender, delectable and excellently cooked. The potato mixture and the capers are well paired and oh sooooo goood. Bread roll with fresh Parmesan:10/10 So fresh, fluffy, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The light and fluffy Parmesan sprinkled all over the top elevates the bread to the clouds. The fresh whipped butter is also a great element of flavor with every bite. Mediterranean salad: 8/10 I was thinking this sals did not come with lettuce. The crab, olives, feta, cherry tomatoes, and calamari are a great pairing. The calamari was a bit chewy. All of the other ingredients are good. I think the dressing could use more depth in flavor to help incorporate such good ingredients. Whalla: 10/10 this drink was so lovely and well balanced. A thoughtful mix of ingredients.Loved the smokey presentation.

The only thing that was brought to our table was dry bread and cold/hard butter. Our waitress name was Kristine and honestly she was the worst i've ever had! The oaklawn location is THE WORST location i've ever been too and I've been to all of the Atlanta locations, the Alabama location and all of the Dallas, Texas locations and I have NEVER had a bad experience. Meanwhile the waiter didn't bring my drink when she brought everyone else's then when I mentioned it she told me I never ordered one! The issue here was the entire right side of the table heard me order my drink and also state that I would be taking care of my sisters drink. We asked for the manager 10 times and someone by the name of Andrea showed up maybe 2 or 3 times out of the 10 with NO SOLUTIONS. The majority of our party ordered from the restaurant week menu so the orders were simple but incomplete and dissatisfying! My shrimp gumbo came out after 1 hour and 40 minutes COLD! Everyone else's came out decent, the waiter Kristine acted as if she ain't understand the issue! I stated that I didn't want any more gumbo after she said she can bring out another. I wasn't offered anything else although on the restaurant weeks menu there were 2 other options. Next, 45 more minutes went by and the waiter came out stating that the dirty rice that came with the majority of our 2nd courses was sold out. Next we all questioning what our options are. 20 more minutes go by and the supposed manager Andrea states that they are sold out of the 3rd course (cheesecake) that the entire table ordered. needless to say for the 2nd course the waiter stated that we could get crab rice instead of dirty rice. Most of us agreed and it came out DRY AF and nasty bug at this point we don't even care we gave up. All of the table received theirs but the birthday girl never got her rice so we asked questions of course the waiter is clueless and the rice later comes out separate from her meal! After that remember they said the dessert of our choice is no more so they bring the bill. We ask if we can get our cake for birthday girl and some guy comes and slams it on the table as if he has any reason to be irritated after what we've been through! The bill was complete bullshit! At that point we don't want our food, we've had a terrible experience but there really wasn't any accountability for anything! We were met with blaming of being short staffed and the kitchen! NEXT, I state that I wont be paying my bill until I speak with the manager and our waiter inappropriately asks me my age! Why that mattered and why she asked me that is still unclear but I tell her my age has nothing to do with my asks of her! Next she explained the check saying that I received over $25 in discounts and after my calculations that was a lie! I went ahead and paid the bill out of frustration although I should've left the shit on the table and walked out! The waiter watches me pay and skip the tip and then INAPPROPRIATELY STATES that I skipped the TIP! I proceeded to tell her that she DIDN'T DESERVE a tip! Her attitude continues and I don't care nor do I say anything else. I approached the manager Andrea to ask one more time if she was really the manager and her, the waiter and some other lady were smirking! THIS experience was Unnecessary , Unacceptable, and Unprofessional and I will not stand for it! I want a refund as this food was thrown in the trash! All of your staff at every location should be on one accord and i'm just not going to accept how we were treated at this location! You all literally ruined a birthday and that's sad!

Service was also great and they stopped by ever so often to check in on us. They also have the option to eat outside... Considering it was fairly cold we opted to eat inside. The only major con about this place is the parking. I know it's now their fault, but during peak hours it's very difficult to find street parking. I'm not sure if they have their own dedicate parking lot.

Off the bat, really enjoy the diverse menu at si tapas. We ordered about seven plates and they were…read moreall decent, the bread was fantastic. Our main concerns were that, none of the dishes really stood out from an ingredients standpoint. Food seemed kind of bland and not memorable. The state we received was also completely raw when we asked for it, medium rare. The ambience of this place is precious, but I can see it getting pretty packed on the weekends. Wanted to go here for over a year, and after my experience, I probably wouldn't go back again.
