Family Saturday Funday headed to Anchor Down Dockside!

Anchor Down Dockside located in Seaford on the water is a Gem! The menu has a phenomenal list of seafood, delights, and specialty cocktails! Those that don't eat seafood, like myself, there is always a beef, steak, or chicken choice or vegetarian options. We had Reservations and Service was prompt and engaging throughout our stay. While eating outside on the dock by the water, we got to see a family of swans come through the canal as well as some geese with their young ones. They do have a covered area outside for those who want to avoid the sun directly. This place should be closing shortly for the winter months so call before you go, but try to get in the last weekends of summer to fall.! Kudos to the owner Jen

I've dined at Anchor Down Dockside twice now. The seafood here is excellent. Last time I came here, I had the Montauk Fluke Oreganata which was delicious. The restaurant is located right on the water. You can't beat the view here.

I am not sure if the experience I had today at anchor down dockside was a one off or not. Unfortunately, my experience at this establishment was below par. After family beach day, my family and I were craving some lobster rolls. We saw a local spot in Seaford that look like they had a beautiful scenery and good food. Once we arrived, we noticed how the restaurant was not busy even for a holiday. We thought we looked out, but it was actually the opposite. we had multiple waiters come and try to help us but only one was actually helpful and even then, she wasn't the best. We had waiters with attitude, lack of drive and extremely long wait times. We were actually told by one of the waiters that our calamari was on the counter waiting to be picked up. EVEN THEN it took another twenty minutes for it to arrive at our table. The calamari tasted like something you would get last minute at jones beach not a restaurant on the water. Only reason this review is two stars and not one is because of the amount of lobster that was on our lobster rolls. Then again, the lobster roll wasn't anything out of this world so was it really worth the two stars? The restaurant seems to care more about it's Instagram page and getting new people to try it out rather than keeping them there. That happened to us and we will not be coming back.

Been wanting to come here forever! Instagram I'd always see and be like we must get over there! That day finally came. I loved my burger and my lemonade was amazing. Service was good. We came late afternoon so it wasn't to busy. It was nice sitting by the water on a nice day. I'd highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed everything we ate. The soups were delicious. Drinks were yum. Our waitress was very nice and extremely helpful. We ate waterside and really enjoyed the seaside table. Enjoyed our time at the restaurant it was very classy. We definitely would go back.

    Lunch On The Water

Great quiet secluded place on the water. I would come for the atmosphere but the food was good as well. We got the clam chowder which was excellent. We ordered the fish tacos which were good. The spaghetti with white clam sauce I would not recommend. The steak was solid. Enjoyed a peaceful lunch on the water.

Ok, we never leave reviews HOWEVER, this one deserves one.. this is a hidden gem and way worth the visit.. what more can you ask for, quiet ambience, on the water, great friendly staff.. AND the food, amazing is not enough to describe it.. we had the Montauk Fluke (first timer) highly recommend.. we also had the overly packed phenomenal Lobster roll (New England style).. if you're looking for a great seafood place this is the place!

Wonderful service and amazing portions! Colossal sized plates! Loved the whole setting of this cozy little place. Beautiful outdoor seating with a view of the water and the lovely surrounding homes. The twinkle lights, the cool breeze and fantastic menu made for a some splendid dinner with great friends! We enjoyed some delicious appetizers, the lobster fries- gah gah gah! Super delicious- I loved the cut of the fries- addicting. The calamari was nice. Great golden fried bits of goodness- yum. I ordered the surf and turf and it was such a huge serving- tasty. I tried my friends salmon and it was so flavorful. We all shared bits and bobbles of our meals with each other and we loved it all. We ordered the almond cake and key lime pie for dessert and although they had a nice flavor the KLP was a bit small and deflated. Overall, we left pleasantly pleased and stuffed to the max with lots of leftovers. Go see them. You will enjoy every bite! OHHHH THE BREAD!!!!!!!! Yasssssss!

Everyone I bring here from the city loves this place, which is conveniently close to my boat. I'm a regular in the summer, and the proprietor is a lovely woman. The bartenders are fantastic, and while I've never sat at a table, my interactions with the waitresses have always been pleasant--they're all sweet. The place exudes a charming New England atmosphere. They host a variety of special nights, like Crab Leg Mondays, Lobster Tuesdays, and Clam Bake Wednesdays, which are even better than Taco Tuesdays. The lobster rolls and drinks are fantastic!

Ask the Community - Anchor Down Dockside

Is this restaurant actually open? Do they take reservations ? I have tried calling over the past couple of days and nobody answers.

They were closed due to the storm and had also posted on Facebook that their phones are down and to email info@anchordownny.com. They should be back open but I am not positive.

So this past Sunday we checked the website and the Sunday Family Day specials were still listed. Our family went to celebrate a birthday and planned on ordering off that menu. After being seated I noticed we were missing that menu so I asked our server and was told, they no longer offer that menu. We were all seated and had started ordering drinks by that time so we stayed. My disappointment and frustration is the menu was and still is today as I write this, listed on the website. I believe the menu should have been honored since the restaurant is still advertising it and the same entries are and were still be offered, just at a higher price.

We went early because we were seeing a show. 5:30 pm on a Friday. So restaurant wasn't busy at all yet. What was a little frustrating was that waiter came over three times to get main dinner order. I don't understand the rush. We were eating the appetizer and almost done. No indication that we were in a rush. Yet he felt the need to come over again and interrupt to get the dinner order. As opposed to letting us finish the appetizer, clear table. And then come back. I know it's ingrained to flip tables. But come on. Otherwise. Highly recommend

I still get the mixed kebab because the all you can eat is way too much for me. Don't sleep on the collard greens. I would order an extra serving so you can mix them with eggs in the morning. Did we wait an hour for our table? Yes, but it was well worth it. There was a spot at the bar where we can chill and all catch up with the peeps we hadn't seen in a min. It was nice to have that time because there was silence when we sat and got our food. We were hungry. One thing I will say, they took away the bowls of olives. I mean I was probably the only one that looked forward to them, so I get it. But holla at me if you feel the same way. Until next year Carvalhos

They do not take reservations on the weekends so be prepared to wait 35-40 minutes for a table since it tends to get packed in the evening. They do have a big bar to have a drink and wait in the meantime. The staff is very friendly and attentive which I loved, they made sure our table was clean and our drinks were filled. Now the food, their appetizers that they bring to the table were just ok; the sweet plantains, rice and beans were pretty good. The French fries were undercooked which no one at the table touched. The salad could have used a little more color but the dressing was really good. The meats themselves were good but could better. I really enjoyed their picanha; it was cooked a perfectly medium. It was juicy and flavorful. The chicken legs and turkey wrapped in bacon were so delicious and well seasoned. When it came to the skirt steak, short ribs and other cuts of meat, I felt like they were on the drier side and not as tasty. They never asked how we liked it cooked (medium or well done) so we just got whichever temperature they were served. I was also disappointed they didn't have chicken hearts since I always look forward to those when I go to a rodizio. Each person rodizio is $54 which is definitely on the higher end and the prices on their website are outdated. I would probably not return; there are more affordable rodizio with higher end cuts.
