I'm new to the area so I booked an appointment with An Elegant Affair Salon with an open mind. The place is located across the street from Springtown Center so there was lots of traffic/activity. The lady was nice, and had friendly conversation. As for cleanliness, I didn't see her wipe down any of the chairs even though a customer was there before me. Unfortunately, she also cut her own nails toward the end of my appointment while my nails were drying (UV/gel) so I found that very shocking and unprofessional. On top of that, my mani/pedi was mediocre so safe to say that I won't ever take a leap of faith here again. read more

This Covid pandemic has made people weary about going out, including myself. Sometimes you can only do so much yourself trying to DIY gel nails and giving yourself a mani/pedi. I did ok but having a pro definitely is much better. I decided to actually get out to get a mani pedi to remind myself how it's like to be a girl again. Mostly I missed the ladies who work here and was glad to catch up with Tina who did a great job with my manicure and Boma who gives the best foot and leg massages with pedicures. The shop has changed to accommodate covid guidelines. There is plexiglass between you and your manicurist and pedicurist. Plexiglass is also placed between each nail drying station and each pedicure chair. As busy as the ladies are, they wipe down the seats and counters after each customer use. I can't wait to see them again. If you're a new customer, it's better to call for an appointment, you won't regret it. read more

Paid $90 for a refill + French mani w design and a pedicure and am not happy with my mani. - I wish I had realized that the great reviews were for the two older ladies. I had to keep asking my technician to make my nails on each hand the same length and to even them out so they weren't all pointing in different directions. Ultimately it was clear she had no idea how to do nails since the color is totally uneven/see through (needed more coats but it was too late when I noticed) and the shape of the French tip looks like a toddler did it. Am only adding a star because the nails look okay from afar and the pedicure was fine. read more

I went here for the first time today. I think I was lucky to get in at the last minute. These are very busy ladies! They were so warm and friendly! Booma did my toes. She was amazing! She took a longer time, massaging my legs and feet, than most salons do. Tina did my nails. She was great! I loved the way my nails turned out! Everyone in the salon were incredibly nice. I called at 12:23pm and they got me in for a 12:30pm appointment for a pedicure ($25). I'm new in town, so instead of driving far away to have my nails done with a lady I've been doing for years, I decided to look for a salon near home. I came across this salon with great reviews. My first time at the salon was with Tina and I like it. I normally have acrylic nails done every 2 weeks, so I booked with Tina again, because I don't like to be going with different people every time. When I got there Tina said this other lady is going to do your nails. I didn't like that, but since I had to leave today at 4am, I had no choice. ( this happened yesterday 10/27/22). It was my first time going to this place and Dianne was the sweetest! She made my experience very comfortable. I let her pick my nail color and she did a good job. It looks natural, but still had some sparkle to it when you look up close. I really liked how Dianne took her time and she did a good job with details. I definitely recommend going here! This was my first time here since I've been visiting back to the area. All of the nail salons in the American Canyon/Rancho area of Vallejo are okay but I was kind of unsatisfied with the customer service. This salon was the highest rated outside of Napa county and I see the reason why. The staff was super friendly and kind. Within the first 10 minutes, you could tell they had lots of long time, return customers and it's because they treat them well and like family. The pedicure massage was one of the best I've had in a long time and the prices are really good for the quality of service they provide. I'll happily drive across town to come here from now on. read more

This is definitely my go to nail salon. Tina, Vouma (sorry if it's misspelled!!) and Jade are amazing! Forget all the other salons in Vallejo cause this is the place to go. I only recently started going here regularly almost a year ago and I wish I had found them sooner. The staff here is so friendly and they all take the time to get to know and chat with you. Customers here are loyal and almost every time I'm here, I run into someone that has been going there for several years already. Yes, you may have to wait a bit despite making an appointment, but it's honestly worth it for me because that shows they take their time to do a good job on each client. I'm never disappointed when I come. Just a little tip: bring cash if you don't want to pay the credit card fee. read more

We're on vacation and I was looking for a little pampering. This place has favorable reviews so decided to check it out. I wasn't able to get through on the phone so just stopped in. What a great place. The ladies were all super nice. Considering I didn't have an appointment the wait was very reasonable. The technician Duyen did a great job with my mani-pedi, she's very gentle. My 8 yr old daughter was patiently waiting for me and the ladies were all so sweet to her. They even painted her nails and didn't charge me. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I called in @9:30am to see if I can get an appointment in today. She told me to come in @2pm. Yay! I was in desperate need of a mani/pedi. I come in and a man greeted me. He made me sanitize my hands, checked my temperature and made me sign a waiver. The salon looked clean and chairs were 6 feet apart. Very organized. Everyone there is really friendly. I never had dipped gel done before and Tina assured me that it would look great. She did not disappoint. I am very happy with everything. I definitely recommend calling and making an appointment. She mentioned that they're not taking walk in's and their hours are actually 9am-6pm. Open everyday except mondays are closed. read more

This was my first time here and I will be back. Clean salon, friendly staff, fast and great nail technician. The only folks allowed inside the salon are the ones with active appointments only. They ask you to sanitize your hands, they take your temp and have you fill out a short form. Plexiglass separates you from any other human. They spray your seat and clean their station between appointments. They also gift you some of the tools they use during your visit. Lol, Tina the owner is very friendly with amazing customer service and she took time but didn't spend all day doing my nails, they look amazing and with great precision! Yeah, they are allowed to open again. Today was my first time back since end of February (I am a regular). You have to have an appointment and the salon has been refigured for safe distancing and they follow all new safety protocols. It was safe, clean and wonderful! I was very hesitant to go back to a salon but after today I encourage you to go back and help these small businesses to survive. read more

After waiting 30 mins, I texted him at 4:30pm and ask how much longer cus I had a 6pm appointment after. He reassures that he is almost done and we were good on time. Now at 5:20pm (over an hr later), he texts me asking me if I could come back after my appointment, offering me free nails and even doing a house call. Which did not work for me. So we reschedule for today (July 3 @ 4pm) and guess what? As I pull up at almost 4pm, he sends me a text asking if I can come at 7 or tomorrow morning! Hell TF NO!! Last minute?!! I am DONE with him and his unprofessionalism. This is the problem with techs, they don't know how to prioritize their time. Tommy and I even spoke about it too. The previous owner of Great Nails (which Tommy took over last year but sold and now rents a small room inside a Latino hair salon) would overbook and clients would complain. Hypocrite much? His work may be nice but there are plenty other techs that can put out great work. He thinks he's some hot shit cus he came from SoCal. Gel-X is to me is cheating anyways. Lazy work. He didn't have all his material, his uv lamps were dying, and in the end he drew this bullshit Lord of the Rings shield looking design, but I didn't want to make him change it after he did all this work on it. I didn't hate my nails so I wanted to give him another try when all his stuff was set up properly to be able to give a real review. I never got that chance cus Tommy unprofessionally cancels last minute. Free or not, does not excuse cancelling last minute TWICE. If he thinks that he is not wrong, he is DA LU LU Btw, his spot had little to no parking and the area isn't the safest. Busy but a lot weirdos.

Pedi: My toe was cut so short I am still in pain the next day, product was left on my leg, skirt was covered in lotion, tips completely uneven. Mani: rushed through, no base coat, sloppy application, uneven ends, chipped within hours. Longer version: I came in with a friend for the same mani-pedi so I was able to compare our service. We were shown to chair next to each other. I was waved to put my feet in the basin. It was hot and I yelped, then noticed no liner (friend has warm water and liner). She started over with a liner, then filled it until it spilled out on the floor. The manicurist left my manicure to clean up the mess. She returned to my mani without washing her hands after cleaning the dirty floor and was not wearing gloves. I had asked for short pedi and long mani. I got short mani and cut to the quick pedi. The pedi cut 3 toes down to the quick, when she used the acetone I actually jumped in pain as it stung in my fresh cut. The filing hurt and was uneven. Her massage was painful, she just dug into my muscles instead of gently circulating the scrub. She didn't wash the scrub off as I came home with a big, dried patch of it still on my leg. She got lotion all over my skirt. The mani was sloppy. She didn't pay attention, rushed through the process, forgot the base coat, and skimped on the layers so it was uneven showing through. I expect smooth, glassy looking finish. This many was full of uneven ridges and smudges. She started my mani after my friend's manicurist, stopped to clean the floor, and finished 5 minutes before my friend's manicurist. It looks terrible and started chipping later that day. I guess she didn't injure me like the pedicure. It's the day after and I am limping with pain in my toes. Avoid.
