I love getting my nails done with Tommy. He always knows exactly how to shape and design my nails. His wife also does a great job on my toes. The artwork is amazing! I highly recommend coming to get your nails and toes done with Great nails.

I searched on Yelp for a salon with at least 4 stars, this place seemed like it was it! Super short notice, I don't get my nails done often but I have an event tomorrow and didn't want my hands looking like "worker" hands and so I went in. He did take me right away, he had a great attitude, seemed like a nice guy, I wanted a full set, I had never heard of his "gel" nails before which are like press ons with the gel inbetween. I was skeptical and because he guaranteed they would stay on I still tried them. He asked how I wanted them and I said I wanted them between coffin and square, I guess because they are pre shaped you can pick either but not something in between. I went with square, but big mistake, he could not shape them, sand down the sides, round the edges, I literally have squares on my fingers, I cried, right then and there - I'm so disappointed in the outcome. I told him I absolutely hated them, one is smaller than the rest, he said it was not. He did not offer to correct these, although he did offer the next ones on him or something along those lines but I have my event tomorrow, I wanted my hands to be gorgeous tomorrow. I won't go back, I hate my nails and just thinking about the blocks on my fingers makes me feel awful, natural nails never grow like this. They're not even straight.

I'm in love with my Halloween nails. This is the 5th time I've been to Great Nails and I have never been disappointed. They are both really friendly every time I see them. Definitely found my regular nail salon.

He has a great vibe and does amazing nails. He is really upfront with his pricing and it's really affordable. He gave me a fill and gave my wife a manicure and a pedicure, oh and he waxed her eyebrows. He finished everything in like an hour and a half. 10/10 would recommend

On a whim, my sister booked us an appointment with this nail shop & I was extremely impressed. Although the outside/inside isn't extravagant, it's most definitely comfortable & the couple did an excellent job on my nails. Unfortunately, I forgot his name but he was extremely quick, efficient and precise. I'm in love with my nails and I've never had a set that has been shaped so perfectly! We will most definitely be coming back!

Appointment, quality, customer service I had a wonderful experience with this Nail Salon. I called and made the appointment and was easily accommodated. Then was running late, and i rapidly got a text reply and they were so polite. I was given very clear pricing and the quality was incredible. I showed photos of what i was going for and without hesitation, they did exactly what i asked. Other places make me find color matches, when they went above and beyond to help. Every request was given with with care and top notch service. This husband and wife duo, who run this business, is a force to ne wreckoned with. Thank you and I will definitely be back!! read more

Tommy is extremely unprofessional. I was actually really happy to have found someone in town that does Gel-X. (Gel-X was basically press-on thats are adhered with gel and cured and designed on top). Mine started lifting and popping off in 1.5 wks. Let me give a little gist as to why I am giving Tommy this one star. I found Tommy 3 wks ago and he did a really nice gel-x set on me and took the nail design inspo pics I showed him and did his thang, which luckily they turned out cute. Fast forward 2 wks, I need a new set cus a few of mine popped off and I had weekend plans so I was trying to get right. I booked a 3:30pm appointment with him and he confirmed with "Ok! Got you down!" The day comes and I realize traffic is bad and I need more time, so I text to let him know I will be there at 3:45pm but maybe sooner. He replies with "take your time I'm a little behind" Me thinking he needed more time, I came at 4pm (30 min after my initial appointment) He lets me in his salon and asks me to wait in the salon lobby since he was still with a client. After waiting 30 mins, I texted him at 4:30pm and ask how much longer cus I had a 6pm appointment after. He reassures that he is almost done and we were good on time. Now at 5:20pm (over an hr later), he texts me asking me if I could come back after my appointment, offering me free nails and even doing a house call. Which did not work for me. So we reschedule for today (July 3 @ 4pm) and guess what? As I pull up at almost 4pm, he sends me a text asking if I can come at 7 or tomorrow morning! Hell TF NO!! Last minute?!! I am DONE with him and his unprofessionalism. This is the problem with techs, they don't know how to prioritize their time. Tommy and I even spoke about it too. The previous owner of Great Nails (which Tommy took over last year but sold and now rents a small room inside a Latino hair salon) would overbook and clients would complain. Hypocrite much? I don't know if Tommy overbooked or didn't prioritize his time, either way, it's unacceptable. Maybe cus he thought he was giving me a free nail set, he can do what he wants. I am still a client! I was't coming for no free shit. The fact that he thinks it's ok to cancel on me last minute not once but TWICE, is what really bothers me. ------- UPDATE: *Let drop the review for my first appointment* He was in the process of moving and setting up his room, so he didn't have much set up yet. He was talking about himself saying he the best shit and what nots. Said I wouldn't be disappointed and blah blah blah. Yeah, l liked my nails but it wasn't exactly what I wanted. His work may be nice but there are plenty other techs that can put out great work. He thinks he's some hot shit cus he came from SoCal. Gel-X is to me is cheating anyways. Lazy work. He didn't have all his material, his uv lamps were dying, and in the end he drew this bullshit Lord of the Rings shield looking design, but I didn't want to make him change it after he did all this work on it. I didn't hate my nails so I wanted to give him another try when all his stuff was set up properly to be able to give a real review. I never got that chance cus Tommy unprofessionally cancels last minute. Free or not, does not excuse cancelling last minute TWICE. If he thinks that he is not wrong, he is DA LU LU Btw, his spot had little to no parking and the area isn't the safest. Busy but a lot weirdos. read more

Sadly, this once peaceful accommodating nail salon of which I gave a full five stars. It's now being run by a very small minded tyrannical inadequate nail technician the "brother-in-law". His obvious inadequacy show when he seems to be only able to do long nails. I'm sure he will reply about the physical attributes of my nails. Alright, I know going to a new nail salon can be scary. BUT LADIES, GENTS, BOYS, & GIRLS.... COME HERE. this salon is owned by a husband and wife duo. they're so, so sweet and listen to all your needs/suggestions. the wife typically does the pedicures and the husband does the nails. and one thing about the husband (tan) is that he will give you what you asked for!!!! best nail shop in vallejo, period. read more

Great place! They respond quickly and do great work! I came in for an acrylic set but Tommy suggested gel x pre sculpted tips based on my natural nail bed and he made the best decision for me. I consider myself a clumsy person but I've had these nails on for more than three weeks and none of them came off!! Found this local nail salon and searched by ratings. So the entire nail appointment was good. I did a mani/pedi deluxe service. However, the nail technician did not do a very good job on what I wanted. I thought it was NOT even close to the design I showed her on photo #2 (stock photo). Disappointed actually since the entire bill was quite steep and I also left a tip. Not sure if I would go back here again. To be fair, the pedicure was great and because no design was done. I wish the main nail technician did my nails as I heard another customer raving about him. read more

This place is awesome! I had been going there for some years but new family members TOMMY & BIN are running it now. I call Tommy my "nail tech wizard" because I no longer tell him what I want. I pick colors and he does his thing! Bin, his woman is amazing on pedicures. Make sure to call for an appointment because most times they are busy...I don't go anywhere else and won't be no time soon. Love their work! read more

I truly recommend this place best shop in Vallejo !! I got my nails done by Tom and he has a very good vibe and makes you feel soo comfortable. I love the set he did on me and he was quick!! You will not be disappointed . He also does gel x which you will not find in shops here in vallejo and to my personal preference I think it's better than acrylic just because it lasts longer and it looks way better!!! read more

My cousin and i *had* to get a mani/pedi the night before her wedding, so we were forced to choose from all the local places, none of which have great reviews. Long story short, it was a terrible experience. I've never had such a difficult time choosing polish. They do not seem to have many name brand polish options (mine started chipping literally the very next day), and a lot of the bottles seemed old and separated, despite that the rest of the shop was clean and bright enough. I was harassed by some local riff raff right outside the shop (some Disgustor repeatedly demanding that I raise my skirt hem so he could see the rest of my tattoo - NO. no. NO!!!). While my nails were being painted, another lady came in. Because there were only two people working there, my guy *rushed* through my nails seemingly in order to get to her more fancy, more expensive nail job. In doing so, he CUT my finger badly, and it bled long after we had left the salon, and it throbbed for hours afterward. My cousin also got a brow/lip wax and she had a HORRENDOUS reaction to the wax. So red and blistery, so bad, i thought the groom was going to kill me. A trip to Target and a couple of aloe vera slathers later, it started to calm down (phew). Hopefully the wax wasn't dirty or too hot. The best part of the experience was getting to watch old music videos. Can't say much for the services. read more

Long overdue review but let me just say I love this place! I've been coming to Great Nails for a couple years now and they never fail me. Typically I come in for acrylic sets and I'm usually very particular with the way my nails are done, but every time I've come in they give me exactly what I want. Although I was a little skeptical with the new people running the place the service was still amazing. There's only a few people working, but they work fairly quick. I went here on the recommendation of my mother. Would never go back. The pedicure was short and lacking. Seriously everywhere else I have gone is at least 30 minutes for a pedicure she was done in under 20. Wanted a new set. They asked me what shape and length I wanted when I stated I like them short and coffin they told me not possible. I have gotten this same shape and length done with other more skilled individuals. They didn't ask me if I wish to proceed which I didn't. Which I didn't. I have never walked out mid service before but now I can say I have. Music choice was horrible EDM or Lionel Richie both of which were loud and uncomfortable. read more

I used to always go here to my girl Julie for my pedicures and last month I came here they told me her and her husband were out on vacation, I got a pedicure anyway because I already drove there and you know when you just have that 1 person that you go to, well I wasn't too happy with the girl that gave me my pedicure. Today I called to see if Julie was back and I was told that she moved to Reno, Julie and Tan were there best! I am so upset I can't believe they're gone.... Time to find another spot read more

When they say great nails- they mean it. Called in earlier on a Wednesday and got an appointment for three people later that evening. There was only two people working at the time but let me tell you.... it didn't take very long. Tan is AMAZING. He did our acrylics and he's really good at what he does. Goes really fast but makes the nails look sooooo good. We showed him pictures of what we wanted and he knew exactly what to do. Really listened to us when we asked for length, shape & color. Great Nails is not as great as one would think... went to the shop for the first time and was somewhat disappointed for the money that I paid... and I spent over 175 dollars for 2 Pedicures 1 manicure and a powder nails. You would think they cut your cuticles prior to doing the powder but no... pay extra and u get it done. Although they had no customers when we went my husband said he felt as if the young lady doing his pedi was rushing... he woo the be coming back and neither will I. The polish used for my toe nails was old and streaked. It look decent in the shop but when I left into the sunlight, it looked terrible. Went back and had them take off the polish and just did a clear with a design... 5 dollars extra. Great nails is definitely NOT for me. Will never EVER coming back. I should mention they use the minimal amount of product for your service... MINIMAL. Unacceptable. read more

She was very satisfied and still after a week is still satisfied with the work ! Different experiences but we both had a good time and the staff are very nice just wish the outcome of my nails were different! Would go in again maybe for the manicure but no more acrylic for me . I'm giving 3 stars because our experience with the staff was great and my mom had a good experience with her nails but I sadly did not .
