The mini facial was so amazing and relaxing. The pedicure was great. You can choose the type of facial and pedicure you want. So thorough and the facial isn't was very sweet. On this visit we tried the Gaia Wellness pedicure for the first time and it honestly impressed me more than I expected. I'm on my feet constantly for work and I deal with a lot of problem areas. Tammy didn't just do a basic pedicure. She really focused on my feet and worked on the spots that needed attention. She checked in, made sure the pressure was right, and took her time with the callus work. She's extremely detailed and you can tell she actually cares about the end result. I visited Gaia Organic Nails in Benicia for the first time in years- moved and away and totally forgot about it till today. Wow this place is not your typical nail salon. The atmosphere feels more like walking into a spa than a nail shop. It's tranquil, dimly lit, and instantly relaxing. The greeter was extremely friendly and professional. There was a small wait for a chair (maybe 10 minutes), but honestly it was expected and didn't bother me. I got a dip manicure and the lavender pedicure, and everything about the experience was thoughtful and calming. They really set the mood with soft music, low lighting, and intentional treatments for each service. Once I was seated in the massage chair, they offered to start my manicure while I was still getting my pedicure -- which I loved and appreciated. I personally chose to keep the services separate. Still, the fact that they asked showed how considerate and accommodating they are. The lavender pedicure included all the essentials but with elevated touches: * an exfoliating scrub with a generous leg massage * warm lavender gel foot soak * a leg mask * warm towels wrapped around my legs * and a hot stone massage Every step felt purposeful and so relaxing, I genuinely enjoyed every minute. For the dip manicure, I really appreciated that they did it the correct way. No curing under a UV gel lamp, just proper dip technique, which is surprisingly hard to find nowadays. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience and feel it's important to share. I had dip nails done here about four weeks ago and paid $50. When I returned, the same service was $65--a nearly 25% increase in just 30 days, which already felt excessive. More concerning, though, was the quality of the service itself. During my appointment (on a Monday), I noticed the technician seemed unsure. I've been getting my nails done for years, so I know how dip nails should look and feel. These felt unusually thin--almost like regular polish--despite the dipping process being done. I mentioned this to the technician and asked if someone else could take a look, but I was told no. I left feeling uncertain, though they looked nice at first. Within two days, five nails had completely fallen off. I went back to the salon, and another came off while I was there. After just three days, I only had four nails left with any dip on them. They sat me down quickly to "fix" the issue, but unfortunately assigned me the same technician. I again asked for someone else and was refused. He replaced the missing nails but did not redo the remaining ones, even though I explained that the issue seemed to be with the foundation and that they would likely continue to fail. He dismissed my concern. As expected, within two more days, the remaining nails also fell off. For $65, I would expect dip nails to last at least a few weeks--not fail within days. Instead, I ended up sitting in the salon three separate times, each visit lasting 45 minutes or more, just trying to get a basic result that should have been done correctly the first time. This was a frustrating waste of both time and money. I gave them an opportunity to correct the issue, but the lack of accountability and quality control was disappointing. Love this place and it is my go to place! Kelly is phenomenal and gave me exactly what I asked for in one stroke, didn't have to keep wiping off and redoing she is very talented. Every time I come here I never have to wait. The astomoshere is so relaxing i love how it's dark and not all brightly lit like most shops. It's very unique in that way and is why it stands out from the rest. Yes it can be pricey but with all that I said it's worth it to pay the 5 or 10 bucks more. I enjoy coming here for my pedicures. I like the back room's ambiance. Dimmed lights, quiet, and peaceful. Unlike other places, it's not chaotic, not a lot of conversations between the employees, and relaxing. Dan did my pedicure and he did a great job. He was gentle, had attention to detail, and the massage was longer than most. One star deduction for the price point. I chose the $55 pedicure package but came out to be $75 with gel ($20 more). Went two months on a Thursday evening for a pedicure, thought it would be relaxing after a stressful work week. The older woman asked me if I wanted my nails cut. I specifically told her NO because the last time I was here they were cut down to the nail beds. Guess what this woman did,, cut my big toe nail, now we have to cut nails even though I said NO! Then she starts digging in my toes, pretty sure she is blind and should not be doing pedicures. Then the owner comes in raw meat showing it to everyone. Highly recommend nail technician LT. She did an amazing job on my dip gel nails. All my nails are the most perfectly shaped I have ever had. $70 for dip gel nails and $40 for a pedicure. Although, I do wish they had offered me other options for dip gel on two of my toes as well as for my nails. The spa was nice and serene. I came on a Saturday at 2pm and it was not busy at all. My Mom and I have been going here for the past few years but never again after the last three experiences. First poor experience left me with an infected toenail. I didn't think anything of it, maybe the pedicurist was having a bad day and it had never happened before. Second bad experience was yesterday - they exfoliated my Mom's foot until she bled (see picture). You can also see the raw spots lower on the toe joint. The pedicurist ignored her when she tried to pull her foot away as it happened and we didn't see the blood until she finally stopped. Third was the manicure I received yesterday after the pedicure incident. I had made the appointment for gel nail design. When I tried to explain what I wanted (small Mickey on one nail, small star on another nail, the rest just color with no design) they said they couldn't do it. I just wanted to leave at that point so I agreed to do what they said they COULD do. They didn't shape the nails, they didn't do gel, and they didn't do the designs that I asked for. When I went to pay (yes I still paid, you never know what someone is going through), I mentioned what happened. I still wanted to pay for their time but I asked for at least a discount. They didn't believe what happened (my Mom went to the car, she has cancer and was exhausted) but I told them to go ask the woman who did it to verify I wasn't lying. They went to the back to ask, then came back and offered a small discount - think it was 10% or something. In hindsight, I shouldn't have paid at all, but again, I wanted to pay for their time and I just wanted to leave. I'm not sure what to do at this point other than hope it doesn't get infected (again, Mom has cancer) and never go back. I'd advise everyone to do the same. read more

As I entered the shop, a lady approached me and asked what I wanted I said I wanted builder gel and they told me that I needed Gel X. They also told me that they had no one to do the design that I wanted. A few moments later, another woman walks up to me and says she has a lady that can do the design. I said OK so they proceed to put gel X nails on my fingernails and I asked for square round the lady was filing my nails into an almond shape. They also looked very crooked and not symmetrical. She also left product underneath my nails and couldn't get it out with a drill. I said I was done with the service and didn't let the technician finish. I was so angry. Will not be going back. My daughter's nails were also not what she wanted. The flowers looked like a 1st grader drew on her nails. She also changed her entire nail color to her liking. This place can use better lighting because it's so dark inside and they can benefit more if the nail techs knew how to do art. read more

I have been going to Gaia for over five years now and except for one time when the technician cut a little too vigorously ( there was blood involved ), I have never had a bad experience. Very courteous and professional. Prices are reasonable for the services, it is clean and nicely designed, and very relaxing. I bring my own soy based polish remover as well as halal polish, base coat and top coat although their polish selection is amazing. I highly recommend Gaia.
