Got lucky and came in and met Kathy who did my pedi and Alan who did my nails. They were able To work at the same time. The salon was pretty empty but very clean. Kathy and Alan worked quickly and did a great job. I especially wanna shout out Alan he didn't file my skin while using the nail file I told him I needed him to be really gentle because my skin is very sensitive to that and he was very gentle and did an excellent job! First time here today , trying to find a new nail place since moving to the area. The lady who did my pedicure was very extremely slow. Did not cut into my cuticles like I would of liked and berly cut my nails after I had asked for shorter. I believed I payed $60 do this service with gel. A different guy took over after to polish. David did my pedicure this last time and he also was very detail oriented and was sure the light gel color I selected looked like the color on the sample. Went in for a pedicure this evening and the young lady who took care of me did an amazing job. It was worth the money considering that I got more of a leg/foot massage than what I recently got at the Cache Creek Spa. I chose to not have any color/polish and the manicurist did her best work cleaning up the cuticles and trimming my nails to an even squared edge. The fine buffing work and attention to detail makes my nails look and feel clean and fresh. The place/salon was fairly clean and simple. I think they are going for a luxe look/theme with the chandelier and the silver colored pedi chairs with glittered bowls, but it kind of fell short of that ambiance. The fish tank in the corner needs attention and it is noticeable that this shop is a small family business when you see their little one taking a nap on a nearby couch. Had an appointment for a mani pedi at 5.30, got ignored until 6.15 when I just sat down in one of the pedi chairs. After that the lady kept pushing "gel" over and over. I get it you are trying to make as much as you can but maybe relax. The minute she asked me what kind of pedicure I wanted, Deluxe or another option a 3year old kid is now full blown crying. Takes the mother about 15 minutes to try to sooth the child but prior to that another costumer and I'm guessing the mother is yelling at the brother for making her cry. (Deep breath) as time passes it seems as if I'm bothering them for still waiting for my mani. I already want to leave. As I am about to say thank you but that will be all, I get moved over to the other chair for my mani. The mani was meh, no lotion no hand massage. Just mail cut, buffed and polished. I happened to see Good Nails was open on Yelp, which I was skeptical about, but then I called and WOW!! They have such a great set up out front! They take your temperature, have a check-in service, and give you sanitizer! They explained the whole process, including that the pedicure tubs were disposable and the nail files were brand new for each person, and I can bring them back for next time! She talked to me about it, and after finishing my nails, I asked her how much I owed her and she said don't worry honey. You don't owe me anything you deserve this!!! Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised, and she did an amazing job on my nails, including nail art. The salon is extremely clean and they have really good massage chairs that I absolutely love. I had the best experience here at Good Nails! I brought my mom and cousin here for my mom's birthday gift. I was a little bit self conscious, being a straight man going into a nail shop, but this place made me and my company very welcome and comfortable. Right away, they offered us doughnuts as I checked in at the front desk. I called about 3 hours ahead to make sure they could accommodate us. We were seated right away and they went to work on us like a well oiled machine. Our mani/pedi was fast, thorough, and attentive. There were so much above and beyond services they did. From the leg massage, scrubs, moisturizer, and general care they put in. I was surprised when I saw my nails looked so healthy and shiny??? I was like, wow, someone is going to think I have nail polish on. That was impressed! I was really glad to be able to get my pedicure. I get nervous trying to take care of my feet. Being diabetic, my doctor strongly suggested I take care of my feet to avoid getting the cracking scars. The owner and employees at Good Nails were the sweetest and made us feel valued. Way too far in between now a days that places make an effort to put in that make a world of difference! During the mani/pedi, mom my mentioned that it was her birthday and I was treating her out. So when we were all done, they gave my mom a gift before we left! I thought this was so sweet! I won't say what it was exactly, but it was one of my mom's favorite things to eat! TLDR: STAY AWAY!! I had to contact my doctor because of the redness & pain after self treating for over a week. I am unable to put on shoes. The doctor diagnosed an infection. I had to leave work to go to the pharmacy to buy oral antibiotics. For 7 days I need to take a pill every 6 hours with a full glass of water and food. I also need to do Epsom salt soaks 3-4 times/day and put a topical antibiotic ointment over the area. I haven't been able to sleep though the night since this happened. This is all because I went to Good Nails to get a pedicure last week. I have been going to Good Nails since they opened and it makes me very sad to leave this review. I need to share my story, it is not safe there anymore. This is the 2nd pedicure in a row that I left Good Nails and raced home to do first aid on my feet. And then prayed for days hoping it wouldn't get infected. You can easily look at the pictures and decide if that's a risk you feel like taking. Aside from being painful and looking terrible, dealing with this wound has stolen hours from my life over the past week. The first time they damaged my feet was on May 31st, a guy did my pedicure. First he cut the cuticle on my big toe with the electric file tool. It was pretty much bleeding the whole time. He also cut me in 2 other spots on 2 other toes. He didn't acknowledge that he did it. He was even trying to cover it with towels so I couldn't see it was bleeding. I'm thinking, dude, even if you cover it, I still feel it. He did use an antiseptic and got it to stop bleeding by the time he painted my nails. I got lucky that it didn't get infected. I was not planning to go back because I thought it was ridiculous how that was handled. But then last week I woke up to a text for 20% off any service and I thought, ok, maybe that was just a one time mistake. I've been going there forever, I'll give them another chance. I wish I could go back in time and make another choice. My appointment was 3:30pm on Weds 7/28. It was a different nail technician, if we can even call her a technician... First I didn't like how she was using the electric file tool to remove my nail polish. I even told her it wasn't gel. There's no reason to risk damaging my nails (or cutting my toes!) when the polish comes off with nail polish remover. The other lady/manager even came over and told her not to do that. The real damage happened when she took that purple callus remover and scrubbed my foot so hard she literally rubbed the skin off the side of my foot leaving a pretty deep wound. It hurt so bad. There was no callus or dead skin, no reason she even should have been scrubbing that spot. I can't imagine what she was thinking. Then when I showed her what she did and told her that she hurt me, she didn't even apologize. I couldn't believe it. I would feel so bad if I had done this to someone's foot. Nobody acknowledged it happened, they didn't care at all. At the end she told me I owed $40 and I told her I had that 20% discount text. She told me to talk to the other lady/manager who was crying in the other room. So I went to tell her at the front desk, she started asking something about the color and then doing the math on a magazine on the desk. It was super awkward. I left $32 in cash on the counter and walked out. On another note, also related to safety... When I arrived there was one other woman getting a manicure & pedicure and they put me in the chair right next to her. I couldn't understand why they would seat us right next to each other when there were so many empty chairs. It would have been very easy to seat the customers a few feet away from each other. I mean, we're still in the middle of a pandemic, we don't need to go out of our way to be close to people we don't know. Because I was sitting right up in her business, I can share that this lady wasn't happy with her pedicure either. She ended up having them remove the polish after it was done because she didn't like how it was on her skin around the toe nails. And ultimately left with a clear coat saying she didn't have time to wait because she had a flight to catch. And one final note regarding the lack of any sort of COVID-19 guidelines or safety protocol... The other lady/manager was not wearing a mask both times I was there. And her kids were there running around like usual. The older one was wearing a mask but the younger was not. The younger boy was asking over and over "why is Mom crying?" And the older one was telling him to sit down and leave her alone. It's really not relaxing for the customers when there are kids running around the room. And again, it being a pandemic, I personally would prefer the least amount of people in the room for less exposure. Not to worry, I won't be back. This time I learned my lesson. read more
