"Very bad business" I am very disappointed with my experience at Nails Care in Vallejo. I have visited this salon twice, and unfortunately, the customer service was poor both times. During my most recent visit, I specifically requested a particular nail technician to perform my service. Instead of honoring my request or explaining why that technician was unavailable, the manager insisted that another employee do my nails. As a paying customer, I believe I should be able to request the technician I feel most comfortable with, especially when making an appointment or arriving with that expectation. If a requested technician is unavailable, staff should clearly communicate that information in advance whenever possible and offer customers the option to reschedule or choose another technician. The manager's attitude came across as unprofessional and dismissive, which made me feel like my preferences and concerns did not matter. Good customer service involves listening to customers, communicating respectfully, and making reasonable efforts to accommodate requests. Management could improve the customer experience by training staff to explain scheduling decisions politely, acknowledge customer concerns, and provide clear alternatives when requests cannot be met. Because this was my second negative experience at this salon, I do not plan to return. I hope management takes customer feedback seriously and works on improving communication and customer service. Establishing better appointment procedures, confirming technician requests ahead of time, and encouraging more respectful interactions with customers would go a long way toward rebuilding trust and improving overall satisfaction read more

Small salon. Not friendly, employees chattering and laughing in native language after I asked if the only service they offer is gel nails since all I saw on the walls were gel polish. Specifically asked if I could get just a basic pedicure. The tech insisted on the extra $5 service for gel nails. The gel lamp was filthy, salon could use a dust, sweep and mop. Salon chairs were comfortable. $35 for a basic pedicure with massage. One of the techs was smoking in the back with the door open but you can smell the cigarette smoke in the salon. She can copy pretty much any inspiration picture that you show her, but I love that, even if she can't, she will be honest and let you know. Her attention to detail and ability to do exactly what you're asking for is on point. With Hannah, I also feel comfortable enough to tell her if I don't like some thing which is important because sometimes I get shy about that and it's nice knowing she's not going to get it, irritated or frustrated with me telling her the truth. read more

The man doing my pedicure spoke zero English, and whenever i asked for something he just ignored me and completely disregarded what i said. It was the most painful and uncomfortable pedicure I've ever gotten. John did decent on my nails but he was very rude and when i made the complaint about my pedicure he said "I'll take $5 off" but for the amount of money i spent that was not satisfying at all. I got a pedicure as well, half way thru the pedicure a guy starts doing my fill and he goes to one side and wants me to reach my left arm over to the right side and hold it there while he does my nails. I had Breast Cancer on my left side and they took a lot of lymph nodes out of left arm and it is very weak. My manicure fill is the worst I've ever had. None are the same length and he filed them crooked. My pedicure was great, even though I asked for the $30. one and they gave me the $50. Tried this place for the first time with a friend. I heard that this place gets pretty busy so I made an appointment for two beforehand. Our appointment was set at 5:30. It's located next to Jelly Donuts. To be honest, the location isn't ideal because there's not a lot of parking. Luckily we found a spot. Upon arrival, it was noticeably busy. About three girls were waiting as walk-ins. I started my full set after about half an hour of waiting. I was a little disappointed because I wanted my friend to also be seen by a nail tech at the same time since we had the same appointment. The nail tech who helped me was John. He was really nice and polite to customers. He even gave me a short lesson about nails and acrylics. He's really good at what he does. Although, I do wish my set was a little shorter just to be more practical and makes doing daily activities easier. My set came out really nice though and he was pretty quick at doing so. Unfortunately, my friend didn't start until around 6:30. That's a pretty long wait time for having an appointment. Their prices are reasonable. Also, they offer a stamp card so you can get $5 off your set when you fill it up which I find really useful. Overall, their service was better than most nail shops. *********************DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON******************** I skimmed through reviews before coming to this salon and even after the bad ratings, I decided to give them a try. After all they're right down the street from my house. I called to see if they were taking walk ins as their yelp page states it's by appointment only. The guy answering the phone says, "you can come right now we're not busy." I walk down there (2-3 mins later) and I walk in only to find every single employee mid-service with other customers. I was willing to wait as I was in dire need of a mani/pedi. The salon it's self could use a portable AC unit as it was extremely hot in there. They left the door open to help with air flow...however that allowed a bunch of flies to roam freely through the salon. Wait time was maybe 10-15mins which isn't too bad. The guy who worked on my pedi didn't speak a word of English. Which became an issue when he started working carelessly on my toes and I kept having to say please be careful and he didn't seem to hear me or understand me or maybe even care. A lady came over to work on my mani and she at least greeted me and spoke a bit of English, she asked what color I wanted and I picked one. She asked if both services were gel and I said no, just mani in gel and pedi in regular. That seem to bother her. But she got started on it anyway. While the older man worked on my right foot, one of the aforementioned flies landed on my foot, and instead of swatting it away, he just left it there...I don't know if he is that blind or again, doesn't care. I swatted it away the moment I had a free hand to do so. He began cutting at my cuticles and various times I had flinched because he was tugging at my skin instead of just cutting the dead skin away. I pleaded with the lady working on my mani to please tell him to be careful. As I was saying that, he cut the bed of my toe. I said ok he just cut me and the lady said something to him and he didn't react until he sad blood coming out. It wasn't gushing but it was definitely bleeding and stinging. After this the guy showed me the brochure with services and the lady asked which pedicure I wanted. I said just the basic is fine, (I wasn't looking to give this guy more time to hurt me somehow) which the guy seem to laugh at and he made a comment to the lady. Eventually the guy moved onto painting my nails which made me feel sorry for him. He has the shakiest hands ever. He had a rough time trying to paint my nails without messing up or having to clean them up afterwards. On one hand I felt bad for him, but on the other, you can't be in this industry hurting ppl. Both him and the lady just walked away after they finished their tasks. Didn't come back to check on my nails being dry or anything. So I situated myself and went up to pay. John said $55 I said ok that's fine. I grab my debit card and he asks you don't have cash? I said no...he seemed bothered and said $57. In my mind I thought, WTF? You're charging me a 3.5% fee because you're getting charged? That's a pretty crappy business practice, specially when there is no sign posted if this policy. But at this point I just wanted to get the hell out of there and never return. If you've reached the end of this review, I hope you truly listen to this warning. Don't go there, unless you like terrible service, getting charged for using your debit card and possibly getting cut. If you decide to still give them a try...I bid you good luck. This is a low brow place. If you want cheap with no frills (not a relaxing environment, at all!) and you just want in and out, then this might be the place for you. My pedicure was 20.00 and I tipped her 8.00. The pedicure was fine and the technician was courteous and did a fine job however the place is so loud and it was hot - it was in the 90's today and they had the doors open. It was too hot today to not run the AC in a salon - for your paying customers! I will not be back - ever. I just moved to the area and I have found two good salons but this particular one is closest to my house - within walking distance, if I decided. So, I really wanted this to be a go to place - no chance at all. When I entered, there was a man sitting in the middle of the shop on his mobile phone speaking VERY loud to someone who was on speaker - the other person, to whom he was speaking, was also loud. The man is the owner/manager, I found out from my technician. While I was there, There were 2 little girls running around the shop (the owner/managers children, I realized as I watched in amazement) playing and they were being rather loud. Another patron brought her children; one in a stroller and the other was running around playing with the shop owners children - also being loud. Initially I asked for the deluxe pedicure but decided to just take the "regular" because I couldn't stand being there long enough for all the other steps. If you'd like a more relaxing experience, I recommend going to Gaia Nails in Benicia; locates in the Raley's shopping center next to Goodwill and Pet food Express. There is also another salon on the corner of Spring and Florida that is no frills but is quiet and much more relaxing. read more

Summary: Strong and long lasting acrylics, and a really good detailed pedicure! ACRYLICS: This review is late, but after seeing how long my nails have lasted, I'm really impressed! I got my nails done on 8/18/17, and today 8/30/17 they're still in really good shape (almost three weeks!). Usually, I'll have a nail chip or break within a week, and this is my first time getting acrylics where they've lasted for this long and still look great. My white french tip acrylics are so strong and sturdy, I even ate boiling crab with my hands without gloves (because they didn't have any), and after I washed and cleaned them they were still in good condition. John did my acrylics, he really takes his time, and even made good professional suggestions. It cost $35 for shellac acrylics + $5 for white tip. One setback I must mention is that he's a perfectionist, and he didn't tailor the area below the white tip to match where my nailbed stops, as he cared more about making it the perfect shape. You can see my nail under the white tip, but nonetheless my nails still look good. I suggest you mention if you want clear gel, mention it beforehand. It may have been a miscommunication on my part as well for not mentioning it before, but usually when they do clear they automatically match it to where my nailbed stops. PEDICURE: The pedicure was really good! I appreciated that John made sure the lady working on my feet was detailed and thorough about my pedicure. I have smaller feet/toes and usually when I get pedicures they're not as detailed to cleaning, but they did really well. read more

Price worth (2/5): Would only come here for eyebrows because it's only $6 compared to $8 or $10 places, but $20 for gel nails is a bit much when there really isn't much difference labor wise between that and $10 basic nails. I've overheard him arguing with females on multiple different occasions telling them he can't do certain things that ANY other shop would and could do with no issue. there's been a few times I've called and scheduled an appointment and when I showed up he still had me wait 20+ mins as if I was just a regular walk in. I'm a regular here and always give them a call prior to coming. However the last few times I've done this, I arrive and have to wait and it's getting a little upsetting. It's better to be honest and say your busy then to have your customers arrive and wait when technically we have an appointment. John's a nice guy but I think over time with the business getting busier, he's not good with scheduling appointments and dealing with walk ins which can be overwhelming and stressful. I gave this place 2 stars only because the gentlemen that did my pedi and my SNS nails were both extremely sweet. The older gentleman that did my pedi needed a bit of guidance because he moves as if he's scared he's going to hurt you which he did anyway at one point he cut my pinky toe on my left foot but I didn't make a big deal about it because I know it was an accident and he's an older man. I picked a color for my toes which from the display which was a royal blue color however the actual polish for that particular number was navy blue after the 2nd coat. I tried to explain to him that wasn't the correct color but he doesn't speak nor understand English. So John whom I guess is the owner comes over extremely nasty like "What...what do you want?" I replied EXACTLY like this "I don't believe this is his fault (I didn't want the older gentleman to get in trouble) but I selected this color on display and he retrieved the correct number however the color is completely off from the display it actually matches the color underneath it exactly." Again John is nasty like "Ok so what color did you want" I try to explain that I think the company messed up with the display and I would like to select a different blue as the one I originally wanted/selected was not correct. And John even after seeing that the bottle of the one I selected and the bottle for the navy blue under it looked exactly the same he proceeds to tell me it's not their fault and if I have a problem with it I need to take it up with the company. At which point I told him I don't need to take anything up with the company because I'm not the business that is providing the color and he should contact the company. I also stated that wasn't the color I selected so I would like that color removed and a different color be applied. John then stated in a nasty tone "Ok well you gonna have to pay $5 for removal because maybe your nail bed is too dark and you should've said something before the 2nd coat." Now I'm super offended because I am a black woman with normal colored pink nail beds on both my feet/toes as well my fingers. I have no fungus or discoloration whatsoever. So I believe that the dark nail bed comment was due to the fact that I am a brown skin woman. Also keep in mind when the first coat was applied it was still see through so I couldn't determine if the color was correct or not until the 2nd coat was applied which I stopped once he applied the 2nd coat on one foot. I let John know I wasn't paying the $5 however the color needed to be to removed from my toes. John then proceeded to speak about me to the gentleman that ended up doing my fingernails in their native tongue. The older gentleman removed the polish and painted my toes nicely in a blue color that I selected. John's customer service sucks for a lack of a better word. His business is in the heart of a black community however he treats the patrons whom are 95% black in a disrespectful manner. I refuse to spend anymore money in this establishment and it's unfortunate because the two gentlemen that provided my services were both super sweet and I left loving what I received however I did also leave feeling extremely disrespected and unappreciated as far as my money and my business was concerned. I go literally every 2 weeks and John's attitude makes me not want to return because there was A new technician and I absolutely did not like how my nails were getting done so I said hey im sorry no thank you I will go elsewhere oh sorry not to mention he only had done 1nail anyway so John sees me leaving and he says he will do mind you I requested for john in the first place so he proceeds to do my nails and he's throwing the acrylic on my nails so sloppy and mad and angry so at this point I'm like I don't even want this man doing my nails either I just rather go somewhere else wait to get my wax and never retire actually so I get it done and as I'm getting them done he has a habit of pushing a service on you that you never ask for and he loves to put diamonds on your nails that's so tacky and will continue to ask you but don't give me wrong overall they have had good technicians and usually John does really good nails and that's how I know he did my nails screwed up because he was upset that I complain about the guy that he told on me in the first place I don't want someone practicing on my nails especially if I'm paying my hard on money and I know that's a problems with a lot of people that I know for a fact that used to come to him they feel like he has a really nasty attitude and he complains when someone is complaining about the service that they are paying for if someone is paying 100+ dollars for a service I feel like they should have all right to ask for something to be fixed or request for something that they know they want and not for someone to basically tell them that that don't look good or whatever read more

This is the second time I've called to scheduled an appointment. Both times I come in and they can't honor my appointment and give me extended wait times. I Ubered to my appointment today for 1:45 and not only can they not see me for 30 minutes, but they want me to stand outside the shop because they are at capacity.
