I've been passing this establishment for awhile now,put it on my list of must trys & finally stopped in! Street parking available, be mindful & read the signs. They offer outdoor area of seating as well. Greeted soon as we walked in. Our waitress who was the only one at the time we dined in was amazing,friendly & attentive. Love the decor,& the view of the city. The lemonades were good. The food is definitely made fresh to order, the dishes the food is served on are too cute! Those wings...OMG...the presentation, the flavor all throughout the wings & the crispness...10/10! The lobster hushpuppies are pretty good as well. Now usually a chicken sandwich can be a bit dry but this chicken sandwich was juicy,tender & flavorful! The oxtails were delicious & tender...kinda wish they came with cabbage. This was my 2nd time dining with An Artistic Taste, first time at the Newburgh location. Similar to my last experience, they did not disappoint. Caribbean menu with flair. Everything was seasoned and plated beautifully; sizable proportions too. Situated on a corner lot, with ample street parking.The space is sleek and inviting and has a nice bar too. Service was great but the waitress did forget a few things. Possibly writing the order down might help that... food was scrumptious!! Ox tails were so tender!!! The salmon was served piping hot and tasted fabulous!! The lobster hush puppies were so good!! Once again, wifey and I decided to celebrate Father's Day here with brunch. A beautiful day we opted to sit outside, they have a lovely outdoor pavilion with a Caribbean bungalow building with the bright Caribbean colors which the Caribbean is known for. The brunch menu has a variety of options including vegetarian and gluten free foods. Today I opted for the oxtails and peas and rice, wifey had shrimp and Grits the gravy was fantastic. The oxtails fell off the bone and I found myself using my fingers to get every morsel. Service needs a lot of work. We were seated for 20 minutes where we were told someone would be over to take our order. I saw 3 servers coming and going to other tables but never looking in my direction after 20 minutes a server was lurking from the main dining area looking out when she finally made eye contact with me I believe the expression on my face made her aware that no one came over. She approached and asked had anyone came over. She proceeded to finally take our orders. After we received our orders I asked for a spoon for the oxtails. She came out 4 times to help others at their table, then she noticed me trying to get gravy on my rice with a fork and I guess it clicked she returned hands full with said spoon wrapped in a napkin I had to take it from her because she was unable to hand it to me. Oh, we had a wonderful time last night at the artistic taste in Newburgh. They had chicken sandwich. We had salmon and risotto and Parmesan fries and brussels sprout salad, which was absolutely incredible. Loved it that had little grapes in it and a yogurt dressing and then for dessert, we had the apple pie and I also had a lavender drink from the bar, lavender and vodka and something else. We had a wonderful lunch here with friends. I tried the spicy margarita, which was delicious. My dining companions ordered various flavors of lemonade. I tried the raspberry rose, which was very tasty. We started with the lobster hush puppies - we couldn't get enough of the sauce it's served with. We also shared the Brussels sprouts - maybe the most unique preparation of them yet! I had the surf and turf fried rice. Very good with enough to take home. Other dishes ordered were jerk chicken, salmon, and steak frites. Everyone loved their meals. Our waitress Dee was really great! Today is the second day in a row. Had jerk chicken and pasta. Today was Bronzino and ox tail. So you know how I feel about their food. I am Korean and been to a lot of countries. Liked jerk chicken and ox tail. Their food is a level up and service. My husband just told them we are coming back tmw. No need to write anymore???? The seasoning is so authentic and right on. my 1st experience at An Artistic Taste was an amazing one. My family & I came off the recommendation from a friend. The ambiance is very welcoming. The staff was very accommodating & friendly w/my 1 y/o twins. Let's get to it. Drinks: The water automatically came w/lemon (I usually have to request it) I ordered a lavender ginger lemonade which was more ginger than lavender but still good. My wife ordered the sorrel spice spritz & enjoyed it. My mother in law ordered the lychee martini & said it was the best she ever had. My brother in law had a strawberry basil lemonade & said it was delicious. I opted for a rum punch later & it was good (would be great w/an extra shot of rum). Food: The AAT Wings Plate was the perfect level of spice. A must have for every future visit I make. The Octopus...OMG...perfection. My mother in law devoured her grilled snapper. The oxtail was so tender & flavorful The lobster Mac & Cheese was the best I've ever had & I've had a lot. They didn't skimp on the lobster. It was seasoned so well. I was going to get the coconut curry chick peas until our waiter told us about the curry goat. I've been craving curry goat for quite some time & this satisfied my craving. Had plans to see a show at the Ritz Stagehouse but didn't know where we were going to eat. Thank God the light on the corner was red. I noticed this place and remembered all the good reviews so my husband and I went in for dinner. Everything we had was AMAZING!! The steak was cooked just the way you asked, the potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft inside, the asparagus was crispy, just like I like them. You can taste the lobster in every bite in the lobster mac. This place is a MUST try. So much flavor in the food. The drinks were on point!! Our waitress, Mia was outstanding. Everyone who worked last night was great. We got there pretty late and no one was rushing us out. The restaurant is very cozy. I really want to go back today and try something else. What a wonderful experience in Newburgh. It was getting late and we were attracted the menu offerings. This Jamaican inspired restaurant easily warrants 5 stars. Great atmosphere. Our server was very nice, allowing us to change tables with the hopes it would be quieter( more on that later). The food was delicious, the portions generous! This was 1pm Sunday . There was music. Very loud club like music . We had to basically shout to hear the waiter and each other. The music should have been lower . I'm surprised the staff didn't say anything.
