I, and my guests made reservations at Amuse as I had a long drive and was staying at the hotel for the night. I met my guests in the lobby and made my way to the restaurant to discover the door locked. The bartender told me they close the dining room of the restaurant down in the evenings and I have you eat in the lobby by the bar. Embarassing. The bartender initially starter the order process and then a waitress, who was herself new- was assigned, and kept coming out to check on us.... as people walked past our table with luggage. The food was salty and the menu itself was decidedly not european, as billed. A disappointment to say the least. While I may stay at the hotel in the future- I will find a better place to take my meals. While I was not amused, one could say I was Amused. read more

Hotel oddly serves dinner at a bar and lounge rather than at the proper restaurant seating next to the bar. Only one staff member serves as bartender/waiter/busboy. Food was ok, but getting the attention pf the single staff member made the wait for service to order and to be served was absurd. In addition, they don't take reservations. I would go to any one of the many neighborhood eateries before ever going to dinner at "Amuse" which by the way the name of the place is apt for what was a comical attempt to provide dinner! read more

No complaints from me. I say at the bar and ordered from the restaurant. The New England Clam Chowder was delicious. I loved it. I also ordered the cheeseburger. It was cooked to my liking and the fries were spot on. I really enjoyed this too. They had some drink specials and I got the Halloween martini. It was well done. Really good. Really really good food. Restaurant is inside the Le Meridian hotel. Hours posted are wrong. It is not open for lunch. You have to get served on a limited menu at the bar. Which does not correspond to the menu posted on this site. Order the chicken tacos. Got three stale soft tacos. Nothing else. Not even chips. This plus a can of Diet Pepsi was $22. Don't bother. We waited over an hour for our breakfast and the food came out rubbery and small (especially for the price). I'm pretty sure they forgot our order! The fruit was sour and our eggs were not done correctly. No one in their right mind would charge $9 for a sour, tiny fruit bowl. Amuse is in the lobby of Le Meridian Hotel; there's a separate restaurant that was closed on Sunday night, but the lobby/bar area will accommodate patrons for beverages and food. We shared 3 appetizer sized plates and had a couple of adult beverages. I had a maple bourbon old fashioned and my companion had a white russian. Strong, solid drinks. The food was OK; the best of the three dishes was definitely the burrata with pumpkin puree. Sweet and creamy. Wings were really disappointing - these were just battered and fried with a drizzle of honey mustard dressing. They were served hot, but as far as flavor goes, fell flat. The crab cake smelled rather fishy upon delivery, but was not greasy and tasted ok. The accompanying salad was the best part of the crab cake dish. Each of the items (drinks and food) were $14 or $15...so it was quite expensive for a mediocre meal. The drinks were the best part and worth the higher dollar amount. read more

Amuse is the restaurant located inside the le meridian hotel near MIT The bar on this particular evening had a number of local people meeting there after work which is always a good sign The bartender seem to know half the crowd and by the end of the evening knew the other half as well I have a chance to eat there two different nights and enjoy the salmon one time in the sea valley another which was a combination of scallops and pork The service was great on both occasions in the kitchen timing was as you would expect I will definitely be back read more

I ate two meals here today as I was staying in the hotel. The first was lunch. I was the only patron and had excellent service :). I had the lobster roll with a side salad. Both were delicious but the lobster roll was definitely more roll than lobster. The side salad was quite lovely. For dinner I had two glasses of wine at the same price and very different pours. Hats off to bartender number two - Martin. I ordered the roasted chicken which took a bit of time. When it came out it was probably a bit over on the outside but super juicy, if not pretty small, on the inside. Unfortunately the chicken was covered in marinated mint. I do NOT like mint and that was not on the menu. Martin took it off the menu and I was very appreciative of that customer service. Pleasant atmosphere and nice patrons. read more

Breakfast on a Sunday at 9.30am. I think many people wait and go to brunch around this place (they have fantastic brunch places in this area). The place is inside Le méridien hotel. Nice set up ( pics added to the review) I got the "amuse breakfast" for 18$: it includes 2 eggs any style with toasts, lyonnaise potatoes and tea or coffee. I shared some pictures if interested. Since they were out of chicken sausage they gave me fruits instead which i appreciated because it was small plate of fruits and not just 2 hanging fruits on the side of the omelet. I also ordered a yogurt with granola on it, which ended up flat and expensive for what it had. It had very fee berries and it costs 9$. Pricey for what you get. When the check came, they made a mistake and charged me initially 12$ for the yogurt with granola, but correctes it after i asked. Overall, i had a good experience but i think it's a bit pricey. read more

I am so amazed by chef Graeham and his creativity. The new menu now in place speaks so beautifully to the summer season in Boston! The gorgeous grilled peach salad & strawberry burrata are as visually stunning as they are delicious. Every entree is playful and bright, and Chef is genuinely engaging if you'd like to speak with him while dining. Good food but weird service. As guests in Le Meridien, we opted for dinner in the lobby restaurant our first night, too tired to make decisions. We were surprised to find the restaurant door locked, and wandered toward the lobby bar to ask. A nearby waiter (?) told us it was closed for an event (we had seen the lobby full of wedding guests when we checked in), but we could order the menu items from the lobby lounge. Sounded good to us, and we took a seat at a comfy little table in the modern, spacious lobby bar, mostly deserted at 7pm. That first waiter pretty much drifted away after bringing us water, and we saw him standing elsewhere in the lobby watching a big TV for most of our visit. Good news, though, the bartender, Mike, came out and took good care of us thereafter. I got a well-earned Sam Adams draft, we got some tasty warm rolls, and we ordered a kale salad and duck and salmon entrees. The salad came out already split, and with plenty for each of us. It was well constructed and satisfying. We also enjoyed the duck (plenty of fat but good) and the salmon (with risotto), though I can't access an online menu to recall the details. In all, we enjoyed the food, and the setting was fine (a number of other diners soon arrived), but we were disappointed that it felt so unwelcoming at the beginning. read more

This spot is seriously a Hidden Gem. I got dropped off by Uber and was like, hmmmm..where is this place?! Thankfully, the hotel staff at Le Meridien were super helpful and walked me over to the restaurant located right by the lobby bar. This restaurant is in a beautiful open space. Now to what we care most about... the FOOD! Absolutely delicious! The new chef is a creative master who uses fresh and seasonal ingredients to build ascetically and delectable plates. He's also super friendly and will stop by your table to say hi and check in. You must check this place out. You will not be disappointed. I'll be back soon! Extremely disappointing. Considering this restaurant is part of the hotel it should have warranted more visits BUT due to a overall bad experience we only visited once. Food was overall just ok with only the kale salad getting lovin. The fish tacos was mediocre. The crab cakes were bland as well. The clam chowder was tooooo thick and probably was the culprit as to why there were tummy issues right after. The food while the restaurant being 90% empty was being offered at mega slow pace. Had breakfast there on a Friday morning. Staff is not welcoming at all. Me asking if it's possible to get a table by the window seemed to be a burden to them. Place was more than half empty, so it didn't look like they were extremely busy. I ordered a tomato-cheese omelette and kindly asked to have some chicken sausage in the side. The omelette came without the sausage and after that, none of the staff ever came by to ask if the food is good or even made eye contact while walking by. Omelette as such tasted ok, coffee was ok, but all in all this was a pretty disappointing experience. I would never go back and can't recommend this place at all. read more

The new menu at Amuse is incredible. Chef Graeham has created a delicious fresh menu inspired by local ingredients. Good american food with a twist! As a started we tried the strawberry burrata and the garden pea guacamole. The strawberry burrata was perfectly balanced with a great crunch from pistachio! The garden pea guacamole was light and fresh with mint and basil. For entrees we had the Sea & Belly and the Sidney Street Bowl. The scallops we seared to perfection and the pork belly was crispy and melt in your mouth, on a bed of succotash. The broth in the Sidney Street Bowl was incredible! The desserts were amazing. We had the cinnamon roll ice cream sandwich and the peach creme brulee. The cinnamon roll was on a bed of Mexican chocolate, perfectly spiced! The peach creme brulee was the perfect summer dessert! We can't wait to go back and highly suggest this gem in Central Square! read more

A hidden gem set inside the Le Meridien- very cute space. Recently ate at Amuse for the first time and was very impressed!! The menu has been recently changed by a new chef who definitely knows how to throw a twist on the dishes. Lots of options to choose from I was overwhelmed, and ended up choosing the scallop dinner- was not disappointed. To top it off the chef personally came over after our meal to check in. Didn't end up having room for dessert, however, I will be back for the cinnamon bun ice cream sandwich!! read more

I hope people will start giving this place a chance again for dinner. My girlfriend and I got to meet Chef Graham after our meal, he really cares about the food and it shows. I recently took advantage of the city's restaurant week to try Amuse out. I was blown away by the quality of the food. I especially loved the salmon crudo dish. The flavor was amazing! I had a chance to speak with the chef who is new to the restaurant. He was extremely friendly and a told me they are launching a new menu as of August 17. I came here for lunch. The place looks very upscale, and the service was impeccable, but it seems like everything is about appearances and not so much the substance. I ordered steak frites for $23. When ordering, the waiter asked how I would like the steak cooked and said it usually comes medium-rare, which he recommended. The steak was served on a hot cast iron pan and was cooked well done. I could believe that it was medium when the chef was done, but sitting on this pan cooked it more. There is a reason high end steak joints serve things on a plate (or sometimes a cutting board) - steak needs to rest, and overcooking it makes even great cut of meat awful. Also, the cut was sirloin tip. Nothing wrong with that, but that's what i get for $4-5/lb on sale at the grocery store, not what I expect for the price and at a place like this. Another person I was eating with ordered the same and it was also overcooked. That said, the fries, pesto and aoli were pretty good. I could see other things on the menu tasting better, but they totally ruined the steak and that's what I'm basing my review on. read more

I think they changed cooks recently. Went there today and the food was very, very good! The clam chowder had lots of clams and was tasty. The Caesar salad was solid with really good croutons! I ordered the chicken entree, which was tender and not dry, and it came with the best mac and cheese I've had in a long time! Definitely a place I'd recommend checking out, especially if you're staying in the hotel. The service was a bit slow at times, so I'm giving four stars instead of five. read more

We showed up for a Mother's Day brunch and the doors were locked, though there were a few diners in the restaurant (I am reasonably sure that is a fire code violation). The manager tried to convince our party that actual seating for the restaurant was in the hotel lobby bar, but they acquiesced and begrudgingly let us in to the actual restaurant once he noticed the incredulous look on my face. Service was slow even though there were just a few folks dining. The food wasn't much better and partly my fault for not having read the reviews on Yelp - especially the ones about the steak frites. I must say the clam chowder was excellent, but the overall experience was quite poor. read more
