Review update ! The pizza is good for that extra thin crust and sweet sauce but - for outstanding baked clams I had to add 2 extra stars. Who would've guessed that's also what they are known for as my friendly lady helper at the counter told me ? A pizza place with better than sit down restaurant baked clams ? No way ! Mom and I ordered some slices while the clams were cooking. No need bc they brought over oven heated Italian bread and butter. You'd want to hold onto that The clams were delivered to our table. 12 of them ,for 24 as of 2024, on a plate of a scampi like sauce of oil, white wine, parsley and garlic with some lemon slices. The clams were perfection. Nicely sized little necks with whole , not chopped , clam still attached to its shell with a beautiful slightly charred crust of breadcrumbs and whatever use they use for spices. No fishy smell and they knew to not to overcook them makes them. Absolutely delicious. I will say these are the best baked clams I've had. Period. Remember this is cash only and the ambience is typical 80s to 90s pizzeria but I'd have to say it can work for a low key date spot ! At least, for a place to take your kids for pizza and you get fancy for baked clams. read more

Guess what? I moved 40 minutes away from Flushing but came back to reconnect with friends and go to Amore's! They open at noon -- not 10 minutes earlier or later and expect a small line waiting outside. I got here at 11:20 AM and waited 40 minutes for them to open. Great customer service which is unexpected from an old school, well-known pizza spot so that hasn't changed. I insist!! Your first slice needs to be plain. idk what it is but when you start adding toppings, it's not as delicious We got a large pie and ask for it as well done for a crispy thin hot and delicious slice. Make sure to also eat it fast because when it's cold out these puppies will cool down fast. Definitely a must-go pizza spot in Flushing with free parking. read more

This is a top 10 slice in the city, but man I gotta deduct a point for the recent skimping on the sauce and cheese. This slice has always lacked consistency like when sometimes they don't spread the sauce and cheese enough and you get a really wide crust, which I'm willing to overlook, but if it's now shrinkflation that has changed the slice, that's a little annoying. A lot annoying actually, since the slice was paper thin (which is a positive) to begin with. Or is it new staff making the pizza? Whatever it is, it needs to be fixed pronto, before one of the iconic slices in the city goes downhill. Will give credit where credit is due though- always able to get a fresh and hot slice, without reheating. At least they focus on the plain slices to be able to do this pretty much always. read more

My husband has been coming here for his whole life and it is still his favorite pizza and now it is my favorite as well. In my opinion, this is the perfect slice of pizza. It is thin, and has the perfect proportion of sauce and cheese. The crust has such a good quality, and is so fresh. The slice itself has such a nice tang that I have not found in other slices. It also has this quality that is rare when the sauce and cheese are cohesive, like one entity; almost soup like swimming on top of the crispy crust. The sauce is very rich, and has a sweetness, but not an artificial, sugary sweetness, as some other places have where it overpowers the slice. When you sit inside and have a waitress, the service is great and fast. In general, the place always has a line, but they move very quickly, and you always have a fresh slice due to the high volume of people. The ambiance is no frills but cozy. We have ordered hot food as well and their catering services are fantastic! As a native New Yorker, I am always on the hunt for good pizza and this is still the gold standard. read more

Very unassuming place in a bustling shopping center. Parking is plentiful but hectic as you have to avoid being run down by busy drivers. The pizzeria is cash only so be aware of this. We ordered a pie to stay and the waitress was delightful but I found very un delightful was the dollar extra charge to eat the pie to stay. By saving on a box they penalized us. I couldn't remember the last time that I walked into a pizza joint, sat down and just ordered a pie for the table. What an indescribable experience, especially with pizza as good as Amore's. We were not planning on coming here and we stumbled upon it right before going bowling at Whitestone Lanes which is a 2 minute walk away from Amore. Wow, I am so happy that I paid them a visit! The cheese, sauce, and crust ratio is something that was just so special. You don't think that cheese pizza can be anything special until a pie like this comes along and reminds you that it can. Served fresh out of the oven, the pizza was absolutely extraordinary served alongside a cold diet coke and some friends. We also ordered the broccoli for vegetable purposes. It was nothing to call home about but it got the job done which was our intent of ordering it in the first place. I really can't express how amazing this experience was. I used to love coming here just for the pizza and even disregarded the racism there just for it. I live 5 minutes from there. Ordered a whole pie over the phone well done for a pickup. They told me 20 minutes, I get there in 15. How is the pie stone cold? They gave me an old pie that was burnt. I've gotten slices from there here and there in the past month, somehow the crust is super thin, yet still undercooked.
