Curry Puff + Honey Rib + Chicken Satay
Iyanla M.

Came in and immediately felt taken care of -- warm greeting, attentive check-ins, and impressively fast service. Every dish hit the table hot and quickly without feeling rushed, which I always appreciate. Great casual lunch or dinner spot! Catch up with friends or enjoy a lowkey dinner without feeling rushed or overly formal Also love that this spot is BYOB. I paired my meal with a Thai iced tea -- flavorful and refreshing, just not overly sweet (which some people might actually prefer). Appetizers: The curry puffs were delicious -- flaky, flavorful, but I definitely wished there were more than three. Chicken satay was well executed, but the honey ribs completely stole the spotlight. Super tender, flavorful, and easily the must-order on the starter list. Entrees: We ordered the deep fried filet snapper (with white rice) and the chicken Khao Soi. The Khao Soi was the standout of the night -- perfectly cooked noodles and a rich, coconut curry broth that was easily 10/10. The snapper was fried beautifully, and the mixed vegetables tasted incredibly fresh and bright -- almost ceviche-like in flavor. Portions were satisfying enough that I had zero room for dessert, but this is absolutely a spot I'd come back to explore more of the menu.

Amazing food and cozy restaurant! The favorite is the crispy betel leaves. It was unique and the first time i've ever tried it. Would definitely have it again when I come back. Service is quite fast even though the restaurant seems to always be packed. Lots of parking and easy to get to

Definitely went back to try other dishes. I mean I just had to! Service is always on point, very friendly staff and water quickly refilled. Nice and cozy restaurant you never feel rushed. The Yum Woon Sen salad was interesting. The dressing/sauce was very strong in fish sauce and lime. If that's not your thing? Def stay away. I love fish sauce but it was overwhelming and a tad hard to eat but I did enjoy it just very strong in taste. This time I had the steak, I had asked for medium well. Sadly it was well done and cut very thick so it was kinda hard to chew and swallow even after I cut a piece into 3. I could have sliced them thinner myself but I mean that's really ideal? BUT the tamarind sauce was delicious! The side of sticky rice tho was unnecessary I couldn't understand why it was served with it so I only tried it but left it on the side. Massaman curry was very flavorful and very peanut flavored def keep that in mind. Lots of veggies and side of rice. Very filling. Overall I enjoyed everything and been here a few times and will def come back and try more dishes.

Khao Soi (L) - Chicken

This is the most variety of Thai food I found in a Thai restaurant in northern NJ thus far. Interior 5/5 - nicely decorated and inviting. Tables were spaced apart with enough space that you're not on top of each other. Exterior 5/5 - plenty of parking. Make sure you park on the lot to the right and not the left of the restaurant. Food 4.5/5- I got the Khao Soi and Yen Ta Four. Both were noodle dishes and both were something I wanted to eat but not a lot of places serve it. The flavor was there and I really enjoyed both. There were crispy wontons on top of both dishes and it was better placed on the Khao Soi because the soup absorbed it and made it more easier to eat but still offered that crunch! Normally Yen ta four is soup based but I'm glad they made it a dry version (pan fried noodles style). There wasn't that wok flavor but nonetheless a good meal. Friendly staff. I'll bring my hard pleasing Thai parents here and get their verdict as well! But I have no doubt they'll enjoy the food. I'm glad I finally made the trek over here.

Chai Ya Talay

We stopped by last minute on Friday night around 6pm and luckily there was one table available. Soon after there was a wait to get a table our entire visit. We sat down and right swayed loved the ambience with the lights and art on walls. We got the pork belly fried rice as an appetizer which was incredible with huge chucks of pork belly. We followed that up with the Massaman chicken curry and Chai Ya Talay (seafood stir fry). Both entres were flavorful and and surpassed expectations . I would only suggest if you like spicy to go up an extra level of spice. Best of all BYOB! we will be back to try more of the vast entrees.

Fried Calamari

An AMAZING Thai food option in north jersey! I loved the seasonal crispy betel leaves, they were tasty bites filled with various flavors and textures. The boat noodles broth was delicious and the meat and noodles had the perfect texture. The crab and shrimp curry had a nice flavor with slight heat and loved the seafood in it. Service was attentive and friendly and the ambiance was really nice! Would highly recommend!!

Spicy Pork Belly (L) w/ side salad

First time ordering from here - they delivered within 40 min which wasn't bad. I had the Spicy Pork Belly lunch special and the portion was good and pork belly quite tasty. It was nice that they also gave decent amount of veggies and I liked that they gave choice between side salad, spring roll, or tom yum soup. That said, the salad wasn't the best - cucumbers were borderline mushy and they didn't give enough dressing - maybe they could put it in a small container within the salad container? Colleague's pineapple fried rice also tasted good but was tad bit spicy for her. All in all, a decent thai in the area.

Pad Thai Pad Se Ew

Chicken Satay 7/10 Pork Belly Pad Thai 8/10 Beef Pad Se Ew 6/10 The chicken satay was very tender and juicy however it could have used more seasoning on the chicken and more peanut sauce and picked cucumbers on the side. The Pad Thai was pretty good however the Pad Se Ew was too salty for my taste. Overall, the food is pretty good but the portion sizes of the dishes were quite small.

Food (4/5) - I think the food here is pretty solid! Had some friend calamari as an appetizer and the pad see ew w/ chicken for main. The calamari was quite light and crispy and their dipping sauce was a good compliment. The pad see ew was solid too, the texture and quality of the ingredients and sauces was what I would expect in terms of good quality Thai food. I dropped a star because of the pricing in relation to portion - imma be honest and say that I've seen places in NYC be cheaper than here and also provide better portions. But quality overall in relation to pricing wasn't outrageous either. Service (4/5) - service here was def above average in terms of their attentiveness! I usually down water pretty quickly and they were very prompt about refilling and also checking in to make sure things were fine. Def noticed their mannerism was nicer and warmer than other places. Experience (4/5) - The ambiance and environment was really warm and nice. They utilize a lot of soft lighting and nature/wood tones to make the space inviting. I went during the evening and the interior/vibe really elevated the entire experience overall. I can def picture people choosing here as a date spot or a nicer/formal eating spot. TLDR: You're here more for the experience. The food is what you'd expect out of a good Thai restaurant but portions are meh. Would come again!

I was confused as I was ordering just one dish, but now that I have the reciept, GrubHub definitely inflates the original prices. I have the OG reciept, and it's $27. Next time, I'm definitely calling them to place an order. For that reason, deduct a star. On to the food: I ordered the Cheesy Crispy Pork Belly Pad Thai, and boy oh boy, those reviews on Instagram and NorthJersey were not lying! I waited about 20-25 minutes for my order, and while waiting, spoke with the Cashier and briefly with the owner. The food was hot n' fresh, and upon tasting: delicious! I could tell they used a torch to melt the cheese on top of the pad thai. The portions are quite geneous for the original $24-27 price-range. The pork belly? Crispy and juicy. No weird smell or anything like that. Pad Thai was served with a lime that cut through the oiliness from the dish. All in all, loved the experience --- can't wait to try more dishes!

Every time I dine here, I purchase their homemade salads, pickles, and kimchi to bring home. I tell…read moremyself I will leave a review next time, only to end up forgetting due to the tremendous satisfaction and joy I have felt since I started eating at this local hidden gem. I have slowly been trying each dish that intrigues my palate. I am aware I will soon be heading back, since my salads are starting to dwindle as I consume them daily. So, with this realization, I figured it is time for the review I have long owed this restaurant. I have been here a total of three times; that is not much to you, however, if you know me, this is big, especially since I cook all of my own food. The first time I came here, I ordered a Thai iced tea, which I consumed before even taking a photo. The Thai iced tea was spectacular and not at all too sweet. I split the kimchi pierogi topped with white fried onions, ground meat pierogi topped with fried onions, chicken fried rice, and drunken noodles with my father. The pierogi were so phenomenal, especially since they are homemade. They made my dad and me want only fresh, homemade pierogi, since store-bought no longer tastes the same! The chicken fried rice and drunken noodles were a delight and not over-seasoned. We even tried the homemade in-house cookie, which was a delightful sweet snack. The second time I went was again with my dad; this time we both ordered Polish-style hot dogs, chicken spring rolls, and garlic coco rice. Despite the Polish-style hot dogs being much thicker than an average hot dog, we shockingly enjoyed the flavor and juiciness, along with the toppings and sauces on them. The chicken spring rolls were perfectly crispy, tasty, and shockingly not greasy or dry! The garlic coco rice was fluffy, flavorful, and had the perfect amount of garlic. The drink of choice was a Thai iced green tea, which was not bitter and had just the perfect amount of sweetness. The third time I went here, I brought the whole family. I ordered the pierogi with potatoes, mushrooms, and onions, topped with white fried onions, which I enjoyed. The mushroom and onion flavor was subtle and discreet. My grandma ordered the spinach cheese pierogi, which I got to try; I felt it had an equal spinach-to-cheese ratio. My grandma also ordered two jumbo knishes, which I had a piece of to try as well. I felt they were crispy, fluffy, and yummy. My grandpa and dad both ordered the ground meat, onion, and mushroom pierogi, which both of them enjoyed. My grandpa even told the owner they were the best pierogi he had ever eaten. My great-aunt Margie had a Polish-style hot dog, and my uncle had two Polish-style hot dogs with some toppings. Then I ordered mild pad thai noodles to share and try with the family. Everyone really enjoyed the pad thai and kept asking me for more. I had the kompot to drink, which tasted like a fresh homemade fruit punch. I can see why it sells out fast. Food-wise, everything was wonderful according to my family and me. The three drinks I tried were amazing. I have tried almost every salad, yet this couple always surprises me with a new one I have not yet tried. The only two I have not enjoyed were the pickled egg salad and the spicy cucumber salad. Otherwise, I have enjoyed every other salad I have tried tremendously, especially the sweet and sour cucumber salad and the Thai cucumber salad, which are my two favorites, as well as the homemade kimchi. The food is outstanding, and the service was friendly and remarkable. The conversation with the owner is a true delight, and the atmosphere is serene and conducive to conversation.
