I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally got to do so today. Very glad I did! They were able to get me in without an appointment on a Saturday. I did have to wait about 20 minutes, but without an appointment it was no surprise. The owner did an excellent job on my nails and was very nice to talk to. As my normal nail tech is out of the country for a month I was looking for someone to do a basic gel manicure and found the relatively positive reviews for American Nail here. I went in later in the day on a Saturday and thought Linda did a nice job. Later that night, the top layer of color began lifting from the first layer of color on one of my nails so I used some nail glue to press it back together. The next day on Sunday I had multiple nails that began peeling up but was going to the Bills game so I had to wait until Tuesday to go back in (Monday was a holiday so they were closed). I assumed the nail polish was just old or had gone bad (it was a white book of gel colors and the color number was 155) so I went in after work today (Tuesday) and explained what happened and asked if the color could simply be replaced. The man who owns the salon proceeded to say it was my fault for picking at the nails and peeling the color away (I did so on a couple nails only because my hair kept getting caught under the parts that had lifted off my nail - ladies you know what I'm talking about!) and I explained that was not what had caused my nails to be in the condition they were in. He became hostile and wouldn't back down and said he could change the polish for me but would have to charge me $25 to do so. I explained I had just paid over $30 three days ago and didn't understand why I would be charged again when it was their product that had been defective. He said the same color would be free but the problem WAS the color/product so why go through the process of taking it all off just to put it back on and have it peel off in another two days? He wasn't budging and told me he would remove the color but I could go somewhere else to have them fix it. By the time he was removing the color my hands were shaking I was so uncomfortable. Linda was in there as well and had another patron with her so for him to act that way in front of another customer I found pretty unacceptable, even after I made it a point to repeat out loud that this was not her fault. Anyways, long winded but I have never had this happen to my nails before and have never been treated this way before in a customer service capacity so wanted to share the information, especially since it was the owner. Sadly, if he had simply swapped the polish out quick I would've said thank you and been back the next time I couldn't see my regular lash tech and would've recommended the salon to others as well as a quick affordable option. I went to a different salon on my way home and they were extremely nice and put a very similar color on for me that looks awesome so far. Needless to say I am never going back to American Nail - the way you treat people really means everything! read more

Tiana was the nicest manicurist ever. She was personable, kind and funny. She explained what should be done to keep nails healthy. She took her time and made sure it was a quality manicure despite being very busy. This is one of the few places around here that does a nail dip... I will only return here from now on. I went to this salon exclusively for 2 years.....sadly, I moved from Depew into Williamsville and thought it best to find a salon closer to me. This was my third visit to American Nails. My first was just to get my nails painted for my son's wedding. They gentleman that did them was so nice I said when I decided to get acrylics again, I'd come back. Second visit I had him put a full set on. He was really engaging was very nice to talk to and it was fast. He never hurt me, and it was the best set I'd ever had since first getting them in the 80's! Now here's proof they're the best: Usually you need a fill at around the 2 week mark. Because of "life", I didn't get back for a whole month!!! In that time NOT ONE NAIL came loose!! I chipped one only because I tried to open a car door that was locked...ouch! But those nails, other than my nail growing out were still in perfect condition! I've never had that happen at any other salon. If I'd have let them go that far I'd usually had to take them off and start over!! This third visit, the young lady that did my fill was also awesome!! She was so fast and I had so much fun I was sad it was over so quick! I'd had a rough week and she just got me laughing and made me feel like I'd known her for years! The key to running a good business like this is having a connection with the customer. They both made me feel like I mattered, not just a dollar sign! I will never go anywhere else and will strongly recommend them to everyone I know! Next time I think I'll get a pedicure too! read more

Yesterday a friend and I came in to get our nails done before prom. The guy first of all, took less than 15 minutes doing her nails.. and did not cover the whole nail with polish and had to be told to fix it.. not to mention he made her pay IN THE MIDDLE of her getting her nails done which was straight out rude, i feel like you should at least finish the nails before asking to get paid... she was very displeased with the service!! THEN it was my turn, he cut them shorter than where he put the clippers where i wanted.. which i let go until he was filing the tips and the one started coming off because he barely glued them and had to go back and hold them multiple times and apply more nail glue!! I then asked him to redo them, he was very nasty, i even said i would pay the extra for him to redo them, only the tip was on no acrylic yet! He then refused to do them after he told me he would redo them free of charge!!!! He told me to go elsewhere and I said i am already here! He told me to wait for one of the ladies then! i walked over to the woman and asked her to do them!! She asked what happened and then i began to tell her until the man walked up and began yelling infront of everyone at me (Im 17) a minor! that is rude i simply wanted my nails fixed and asked why he was talking to a customer this way! he made me cry, on top of that a loyal customer of theirs was getting her toes done, she walked up and began yelling and being ignorant about the situation and told me that if i didnt like my nails i should leave and that it was his store!! I kindly asked her to stop.. she didnt and said i had a teen attitude and was being loud when in fact it was the worker yelling.. she said if she was my mom she would slap me, and other customers i didnt know even told her to stop because i didnt do anything wrong and it was none of her concern.. the lady worker THANKED THE WOMAN for saying something to me!!! i said nobody wants their nails done sloppy and you would have been the same way!! i didnt understand why the people in there were so nasty when i was simply displeased and asked for them to redo them nicely.. i then left after they then said now they would do them! WOULD NOT recommend!!! 0/10. i could see if i was being rude but i simply asked him nicely to redo them and that i would pay the charge for it!!! read more

This salon is clean, the nail technicians actually engage and speak to their clients, and the best part is they always do a complimentary hot towel after having your nails done. Went here to get my nails done for my upcoming engagement. The owners wife did my full set. She was in an extreme hurry the whole time due to a few people waiting. She was slamming my hand around like a rag doll and I have LUPUS !! My daughter had to say something to her to please be more gentle. She was the one who brought me there. Then when I asked her to take just a little more off the length before she applied polish. She started slamming stuff around complaining she would have to reshape my nails. The whole process took her an extra 3 MINS. Sheremoved more than half the length so fast I didn't even have time to say something. She continued her rude attitude all the way to the end and then tried to overcharge me. I left with super short nails that look like purple gum balls. I am beyond pissed that my nails look like crap for my big day. I didn't throw a fit because my daughter goes there. Well maybe not now. BEWARE AND AVOID THIS PLACE.....there are way too many other nail places to be treated like this. Now I know why just before Xmas they were pretty slow. They will go out of business like they did when they were near eastern hills. DISHONEST OVERCHARGING AND HURRIED RUDE BEHAVIOR EQUALS NO CUSTOMERS. I will be sure to spread the word around town. When I mentioned something to my soon to be step daughter she told me she had tried there, got treated almost same way by same woman. Has NEVER GONE BACK. Wish I would have known that sooner. DO NOT GET TREATED THIS WAY...40$ is a lot to get crappy looking nails and basically get abused at the same time!!! NEVER AGAIN.... P.S. DON'T GET FOOLED BY A COUPLE 5 star reviews.
