Preface: I am a server. So. We have come in frequently since opening day. Opening day; everything was wonderful. Every experience after that has been anything but. Our food is cold Every. Single. Time. I had the platanos and they were some how burnt but also cold. I dk if they know how fire works. I also had the fideo. It was frozen solid pasta. We order the queso as an appetizer and it came with our food. Which was also cold. During the wait time for our food every single employee was standing around discussing their paychecks that management had just handed out which to them seemed like a good idea at the time. (FYI it was NOT) We watched our food sit in the window and hoped for a better time reminiscent of our first experience. We stopped to eat here for lunch today and it was awesome. The Queso is different than most places but is great and is a MUST try. The drinks were very well made and they had great service. Ask for mark he was a very good waiter but the entire staff was very attentive and helpful also. They have a nice patio for out door eating and a great ambiance inside. We split fajitas and enjoyed them. The food was very fare priced and comparable to most other similar restaurants. If you go on sundays their is a farmers market type sale in the courtyard in front of the restaurant. We plan on making this place part of our Sunday routine for awhile. read more

First time here and was a little disappointed in the food dept. Decor was really nice, waiter was great, manager came around to give out bread which was nice. but the food just wasn't there, maybe cause they just opened? Margherita drink was good, My Carna asada tacos were lacking serious flavor in the meat, bland, nothing carna asada about these tacos...the tortilla was too chewy, the rice was tasteless and dry, I didn't finish my meal, my kids didn't like the food either and one of them loves tacos, but kids beef tacos, kids cheese quesadilla, really bland lacking any flavor they took few bites and thats it. They ate the fries and the table chips thats it. Matter of fact both my kids and I agreed that the best meal today was the chips and dip. So sad. Maybe management should try and eat the carna asada tacos and see what I mean. Maybe this place will get better I don't know. I may return in future but first impression didn't go well. read more

This place was so good! The enchiladas verdes were delicious with a little kick! The enchiladas rojas were good if you like the carne asada filing. This time in our fajita mix on two of them there was no ribs. And the server brought our food fajitas without the plates with rice and guacamole. Also no dinner plate. Wow. We may have just found the all-around best Mexican food in all of Houston. I go all around Houston to see who has the best mole and ceviche. Hello! My husband and I went here last Saturday for dinner. To my surprise I'm very disappointed to say that we didn't like the food that we ordered. My husband had the d tacos pescado $20 that was actually recommended by our waitress. He only ate 1 taco out of 3. He said the more he ate the more he felt like throwing up.The fish had raspberry sauce on top of it that made it taste . I had the risoito mexicano $22 for a small serving that I only ate half because it wasn't to my liking as well. They gave us complimentary street corns since it was our first time and we ordered 2 margaritas for $27 which to us were just ok. Paid $84 total plus the tip. Our server was really welcoming but that would be the first and last time for us there. I don't really give reviews but man, I'm so disappointed and annoyed that we spent so much money just to have this kind of experience. Tried this spot with my best friend this past Friday. Authentic Mexican food! Not that mess they have at Pappasito's .
