One of the best, if not actually the best Indian experience. The place and service were great. The food was absolutely amazing, we took the tasting menu and everything was great.

So happy to have stumbled upon this gem of a place. We got the platter where we could try all their highlights on the lunch menu and it was amazing. My favorite bite was the fish and we also ordered the biriyani additional which was also a standout. Everything on that platter was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place and the drinks and service were all fantastic. The ambience is nice but isn't necessarily standout and it was quite empty during lunch when we went but didn't take away from the experience. And maybe this place deserves more hype! Oh and the drinks were also fab!

Truly an incredible dining experience! Amaya's Michelin star is well deserved! You absolutely must try the Black Pepper Chicken Tikka, the King Scallops, the Goat's Cheese & Yogurt Kebab, and the Chicken Curry. This might be my top restaurant ever! If you love Indian food, you simply must try!

This was excellent. We came and ordered a lot, with my favorites being the sweet potato chaat, lamb chops, and minced chicken. Overall I'd say this is a great place for very well made accessible Indian food. Of our group of four, I have Gymkhana in a totally different league, while the other three (who don't handle spice as well and aren't looking for something particularly new) all were at least slightly more neutral or even preferred Amaya, so I think it's largely dependent on what you're looking for in an Indian meal. Hard to go wrong with either though.

Lovely experience in late July 2021 coming out of COVID times. It was, blissfully, a non issue during the meal so could focus on what matters; food and service. We shared quite a few dishes, and they seem to change with time so the website doesn't have the full selection, but what I will say is that for a one Michelin star place it very much lived up to expectations, each dish was filled with so much nuance and talent plus service was excellent. Attentive let casual and unpretentious. We did have the chilli lamb and the prawns, both of which seem to be menu standards so can't fault there. Also had a salted ice cream, sweet pastry dessert (I forget the name...) which was a lovely sweet end to the meal. Cocktails also fantastic; wife had their version of a Pimm's cup and myself their negroni. At £13 each not a bad price for the neighborhood or level of restaurant.

I wish I had more people with me so that we could've ordered more dishes. My party of 3 ordered: 1 chicken ruby, 1 house daal, 1 garlic naan, 2 bowls of rice, samosas, fried okra, and some tea. Everything was DELICIOUS! The daal was fantastic. But man oh man was the Chicken Ruby addicting! The Chicken Ruby is their take on butter chicken and it was the perfect balance of acidity and spice and sweetness. We wanted to order another Chicken Ruby but we couldn't eat anymore. Would recommend this place to anyone! So good

My family tried seafood tasting menu (£125 pp approx $160) but they also offer vegetarian tasting menu for a slightly lower fare £115 pp Their Cod was probably one of the best we ever had. Oyster 2 ways was served very creative, cold with smoked red pepper and hot, pan fried with pepper masala. Vegetarian tasting menu was a bit of disappointment. They started with banana stem soup which was served warm almost tepid, to me soup should be hot. I had to return it. Rest of vegetarian menu seemed like regular South Indian dishes and taste was just ok. Service was quite sub par considering the expectation of a Michelin star restaurant. Our drinks were not filled on time.. we ordered a bottle of champagne and had to hunt down our server to refill it as he kept it in a bucket far away from us. The staff lacked experience in describing the dish. After the dessert course, one of the servers got something sweet in a plate, just kept it and left. I asked her what it was and she had no idea. Overall it was not the experience we expected compared to other Michelin star Indian restaurants in London. But we would definitely go back to have that black cod from ala carte menu.

I am absolutely appalled by our experience at this so‑called world‑class Michelin‑starred Northern…read moreIndian restaurant in London. We clearly notified the staff in advance that my sister has serious allergies to both mango and pineapple and reiterated this when ordering dessert to take away. We were explicitly reassured--more than once--that neither of the two desserts contained mango or pineapple. When my sister returned to the hotel and began eating the first dessert, she immediately recognized the taste and texture of pineapple and began having an allergic reaction. We called the restaurant right away and were told, "Oh no, there is no pineapple in it." Only after insisting and explaining that she was actively reacting did they "check with the chef" and admit that yes, there was pineapple in that dessert, but claimed there was no pineapple in the second one. Trusting that assurance, she tried the second dessert as well--only to find pineapple in that one too, triggering another reaction. Thankfully, she had the correct medication with her and was able to manage the reaction before it escalated into a full medical emergency. The thought of what could have happened if she hadn't had her medication on hand is terrifying. What makes this even worse is that when we called back to inform them of what had happened, they were dismissive and defensive. They essentially implied that we were lying about the second dessert containing pineapple, despite the fact that we have photos and the very clear evidence of an allergic reaction. There was no genuine apology, no sense of urgency, and no serious acknowledgment of the gravity of serving allergens after being explicitly warned. For a restaurant that prides itself on being the only Michelin‑starred Northern Indian restaurant in the world, this level of negligence around food allergies is unacceptable and dangerous. If my sister's reaction had been even more severe, they could kiss that precious Michelin star goodbye. At this level, basic allergy safety is non‑negotiable. If you or anyone in your party has food allergies, I would strongly advise you to think twice before dining here. At a minimum, they must learn to take allergy information seriously, communicate honestly with guests, and verify ingredients before making promises that can literally put someone's life at risk. This all happened with the "manager" or so he claimed when I asked to speak with the manager.

A friend of the chef organized this dinner for us, and like many other fancy Indian restaurants, they do have a rather silly children policy, but thanks to our host, an exception was made for us. Kutir's experience begins with it's thoughtful setup. You are indeed welcomed in a home with pretty compact seating. Their rooftop seating is really inviting, but we could not seat there because the restaurant wasn't as busy on a Sunday evening. Aarav, our server made food recommendations which included a brilliantly tasty serving of Crab ~ Pepper Fry (£14), Lamb ~ Black Cumin (£24), Jheenga ~ Moilee (£26), and a Bread ~ Basket (£12). Our little one enjoyed the Double Tadka ~ Dal (£8) with some Steamed ~ Rice (£5). The Crab and Jheenga were absolutely spectacular.
