This is a great dining option if you are craving Indian food in the Picadilly circus/soho. We didn't have reservation and walked in on a Friday night and were seated right away. Their basement has this option of large table with many chairs that you share with other guests but surprisingly it still maintained a pretty decent privacy. Their dishes are outstanding, our favorite was the Kerala fried chicken and mangalorean chicken.

We were Indian food novices but had the best meal and best time thanks to Jennifer, who is a gem who adeptly runs the front end with skill, knowledge, passion and a friendly nature. We were pre theatre and they made sure the timing was perfect. We loved everything Jennifer suggested ! Food was outstanding, same with service, and the vibe is busy and fun. Make reservations - though they seem to accommodate walk-ins as best they can. Just not guaranteed. We sat in a booth in the bar area and that was great. 500 ft walk to theatre door. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Exceptional flavours, keeping the tradition of India with some British influences. Great value. Good for 1 person, couples or if you head downstairs larger groups can be accommodated.

Unfortunately there isn't a Yelp page for their Shoreditch location (the one I went to), but I would be remiss not to leave a review. I went in March and I still dream of the Keralan fried chicken and that sauce under the chili broccoli. They also had mango lime ice kulfi with crispy coconut, which was magnificent. We also couldn't get enough of their lime sodas too. Our waitress was beyond accommodating and so friendly. And the interior was gorgeous! One of the best meals I ate in London.

this place is a BANGER and everything is really really good, one of THE places to go to in london. they do upscale / contemporary south asian food (which, against the backdrop of dishoom was quite lovely). I went with a friend and we split quite a few things (wasn't able to try the cocktails but honestly they all looked banging). I will say, be prepared for the fried foods as the appetizers (we misordered), which resulted in us feeling quite full, but everything here is SUPER flavorful, delicious, all around banger

Came here for a quick bite, and it was incredible. The cocktails are creative and very easy to drink. The small plates are packed full of flavor and perfect for sharing. We got the pistachio and date kulcha (creative textures, amazing harmony of flavors, chewy bread), bhel puri (refreshing and crunchy), and a prawn curry (the prawns had a lovely smoky flavor, and the curry was vinegary in a good way). The service is friendly and helpful as well.

Absolutely amazing! Our waitress made wonderful recommendations and everyone was so nice! The food was incredible!! We will be sending our friends who are traveling to London here! The Behl Puri, Kerelan Fried Chicken, Duck Leg Seekh Kebab, and Brown Butter Laccha Partha were all delicious! We sat at the chefs counter and loved watching the food getting made! So much fun!

Very tasty experience in a cosy setting. Every dish was a treat for your taste buds (the fried chicken definitely being a highlight - try dunking it in the vegetarian take on 'butter chicken'). Only caveat is you'll be kicked out at 11pm (like at many places in London), even with a late reservation (ours was at 9:30pm). Experience would've even been better if we weren't seated at a long 'picknick' table right alongside (and in the social bubbles of) other guests.

So many people told me to go here and I wondered how could it could actually be so I went on my trip to London. Everyone was correct. The food here was phenomenal. I actually recommend sitting at the top floor high chairs because you can see them making your food and it is very entertaining. Everyone here was extremely kind and they were very attentive to us. The menu has option for vegetarians and everything is rich in flavor. Their chai is very good and they have good beer options as well. Our absolute favorite thing we got was the fish curry. This was my favorite meal we had on our visit to London thanks Kricket!!

We had a great meal here! Awesome, friendly service, with very solid food. Would recommend overall!

This restaurant was recommended to me by someone who comes here whenever they're in London and it did not disappoint. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and the restaurant is very busy/popular. I decided to have lunch on my own and there was about a 15 minute wait. All of the staff I interacted with were very kind, and the inside of the restaurant is dimly lit so it sets a cool and intimate vibe. It's a very vibrant atmosphere. The menu had so many delicious options to choose from. I went with the vegetable samosas to start and a fresh nimbu soda which was very refreshing. For my main dish I had the chicken ruby and a said of garlic naan. Everything was so incredibly fresh. The food was served as soon as it was done being prepared and the flavors were immaculate!!!! 10 out of 10! No notes! And I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking. We managed to snag a reservation here before coming to London on a Saturday around 6:30 PM. We got there right on time and and our table was ready immediately. We had great booth in the back of the restaurant so it wasn't too loud. We all ordered some drinks when we sat down and opted for a Kingfisher to drink. For appetizers, we got some samosas and chili chicken which were delicious! They also gave us some of these rice crackers with different sauces which were delicious. For our entrees, we got some biryani, ruby chicken and rice, malai chicken, the gunpowder potatoes and 3 orders of naan! It was all delicious! The biryani with the yogurt sauce is my personal favorite but their garlic naan is great too. For dessert, we got the chocolate cake and I opted for the chai to end the meal which was delicious! This meal was stunning and you must stop by Dishoom while in London.

For me, Gymkhana absolutely lived up to the hype. Although they offer a set lunch menu, I went à la carte to try exactly what I wanted: Chicken Butter Masala, an Indian Onion & Green Chilli Salad, and Garlic Naan (which I appreciated they offer in single pieces). For drinks, I started with their signature Masala Margarita, paired the meal with a Salty Masala Lassi, and finished with a Masala Chai. It was more food than I usually eat, but it was too good not to finish. Every dish was outstanding--bold, layered flavors with distinct character. It really highlighted how exceptional Indian cuisine can be. The drinks had creative twists and complemented the food beautifully. Service was warm, attentive, and efficient without ever feeling formal or rushed. I could tell the staff would gladly accommodate special requests if needed. It was all very deserving of its two Michelin stars. Total bill: GBP 94 including drinks, service, etc. One tip for first-time visitors: go easy on the rice and bread. The other dishes are far too good to fill up on carbs.

It's just I think this establishment gets so much hype for what it is. This location is particularly historic as it was built on a trade spot between Indians and the British; the place maintains most of the architecture from more than 100 years ago. Service here is pretty good too. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and were able to get high table seatings.

My dining companion ordered a margarita that came straight up with a smoky paprika, sort of rim. I ordered the Mojito. They make their own Mojito mix and it was exceptional. Our wait staff said we were ordering a very small amount of food. I thought it should be enough, as we had a large lunch. She was kind of insistent, but maybe she was just trying to be helpful. The fried okra was amazing. It was like french fries but with okra. There's just a hint of spice very very crunchy and delicious. The rest of our meal came. I really should have asked about the spice level, but I did not. The menu didn't say my dish was spicy, but it was far too spicy for me. Since our wait staff did not come back to check on us there was not much I could do. However, I did flagged down another waiter and asked for some raita. This helped but I don't like the burn so I was pretty much done eating at that point. My sister's lamb chops were very tasty but overcooked for my preference. But we weren't asked how she wanted her lamb chops so there you go. I bet this is a phenomenal restaurant if you like a high level of heat. And maybe on a night when they weren't so busy and the wait staff stretched so thin. I will say I thought the cocktails were exceptional. And our bartender was great. I would really give it a 2.5 but there are no half star so I'm rounding up
