Went in for breakfast and ordered the cheese avocado bacon omelet with home fries and gravy and biscuit. The potatoes were dried out. Not only was the omelet small, but the avocado placed only on top was not ripe and very hard. The gravy was ok, but the biscuit was tough and unable to eat with just a fork. I had this and water and it cost me 11$ and change. For breakfast I was very disappointed in the food and the waitress never refilling my water and offering to bring salsa but never did bring it. Me and my wife visited this place because she really wanted me to try the waffle (because I am a big waffle person) so we tried having breakfast at AM Cafe. The location has a nice clean decor with a South West Theme. The waitress and another server (possibly the owner/manager) were extremely attentive and made sure we didn't need anything through out our meal. We only had one issue, they had the waffle machine on the fritz, apparently they have 3 and all of them were broken (I was told that someone was heading to LA to get a replacement in the next few days). On top of that we had to order a few different times because they were out of several items, that being said the staff was very apologetic and made some great recommendations. THIS WAS OUR FIRST AND LAST TIME: Went here for breakfast this morning. The decor: Decor is so busy, the walls are ugly yellow, brown and various other colors. The place looks as though it was a Mexican restaurant in the past. The texture on the walls needs changing and the place looks very outdated. The ceiling doesn't mach the scheme and there is wrought iron work for every potted plant. There are roosters everywhere and they are very dusty so is the bathroom. The food: I ordered the ABC Omelet (avocado, bacon, cheese) with hash browns and biscuit and gravy. The egg was dry and rubbery, the avocado was not ripe and hard, there was suppose to be bacon in it but the first two bites had bacon and the remaining 75% of the omelet only had cheese. The hash browns were not any good and the biscuit and gravy was lumpy without good flavor. My friend ordered the AM cafe omelet, home fries and biscuit and gravy. His omelet and potato portions were larger than mine. His omelet and potatoes were slightly better tasting All the ingredients bacon, sausage etc were a lower and cheeper grade of ingredients. This made the meals not enjoyable. The plates were small and especially for what they charge nearly $10.00 per plate. Breakfast shouldn't be that costly. Left us desiring Crazy Otto's. The service was friendly but when I asked if they put jalapeno's into the the omelet the waitress said you can get some. I said ok. When I got the bill she had charged me for a quarter size amount of jalapeno's .50 cents but never said she was charging for them. I didn't eat them anyway. I wasn't asking for extra bacon or sausage, jalapeno's are a condiment. When I asked her about the charge she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Never offered to remove it off of my bill. There are a few reviews on here similar to mine that ordered the same or like items. There are people that like this place it could be due to other items on the menu but not sure. They do have a section for seniors. All the customers this morning were seniors. We will not be going back here again. It was not enjoyable. read more

No mushy French toast and heaped with cinnamon and apples, burried in a sweet buttery icing and whipped cream. My boyfriend decided to try this place when we saw crazy Otto's was really busy. It took forever to get our coffee and the music that they were playing was a little to rock and roll for breakfast time. I ordered the banana walnut French toast and my boyfriend ordered the mushroom omelette with a biscuit and gravy. When our food came out I took one bite and thought it was disgusting, the bread tasted dense and old and my boyfriend said the same about his biscuit. I told the waitress I didn't like it so I had her bring me regular French toast and when I got that it was the same thing ... Gross! .. I will never go back there again. We are frequent breakfast customers here at AM Cafe. The farmhands favorite is the best thing to order because you get a little bit of everything. Eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, and their pancakes are to die for. I am not big on pancakes but I love love their banana walnut pancakes with the banana special syrup. The coffee is amazing and the service is excellent. They have so many different types of pancakes. Any flavor pancake you can think of they have!! Their house salsa is really good too. Definitely a hidden gem of Lancaster. I like the decor; bunch of roosters and made to look like the outside of a barn of some sort. Unlimited refills on coffee and creamers! Not just regular cream, flavored! They had everything your heart would desire for breakfast. I ordered carrot cake waffle- didn't taste much of a carrot cake, but sill good. I love Lancaster but unfortunately it's hard to find good restaurants. AM Cafe is just another example of Lancaster's mediocre food. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service, quick and friendly. I ordered Sausage, eggs, hash browns and pancakes. The eggs were slightly over cooked, hash browns slightly under cooked, sausage was ok and the pancakes were dry and over cooked. The service was nice but food will keep me from coming back. I have been here a few times & as it started off good the food has progressively gone downhill. I won't be going back after today's experience. The biscuits were hard as rocks, the hashbrowns (which we ordered extra crispy) were soggy & very greasy, the portions (hashbrowns) weren't enough for a 6 year old & one of the omelets was quite dry & the cheese hadn't even melted. Ate at the 10th St West Location with a friend for breakfast. We both order the morning special of a Sausage Omelet with mushroom and provolone cheese and a glass of orange juice. I asked that the sausage be omitted from my omelet and that fruit be substituted with fruit. I ordered toast while my friend ordered biscuits and gravy. Her omelet came with a high pile of cubed fried potatoes and mine had an ample amount of cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple and grapes, which was very ripe, sweet and fresh. The waitress asked if we would like to try homemade salsa with our omelets. Food was tasty and more than enough to eat. The salsa was a little too spice for me. Overall I like the new place a lot better than the Sierra Hwy cafe. Place was very clean with newly painted with a bright yellow paint. Waitress was friendly and service was fast. My friend took half of the potatoes and all of her biscuits and gravy home to enjoy later.. Price was very reasonable.... Under $20 including the tip. I will certainly be dining there again soon. The service is OK except for the red neck waitress who was talking about how she kills rabbits in her yard. It upset me because I love rabbits and I feed the wild rabbits in my yard. The pancakes are over priced and not special at all, with the canned fruit poured over the top. Big nothing in my book considering that I hop has the same thing for less. We stumbled across this cafe by chance and was so glad we did. They had so many yummy options to choose from. I ended up getting the banana strawberry nutella crepes and they were so good. All though I hoped the strawberries to be fresh, it was just a strawberry compote on top which was a little much. But the crepe was just right. And there was so much I couldn't finish. My hubby ended up getting the original French toast and it was perfect. We had our two toddlers with us and while we waited the waitress surprised my son with a bucket of toys to play with and keep him busy during the wait. Overall was a great experience and look forward to going back. read more

Found this cafe on Yelp and it was close to the AV hospital. I arrived around 9 am on a week day. I guess I missed the breakfast crowd because it was pretty empty. Small and cozy. Old decor but a bar with a TV. Greeted as soon as I entered. Very open floor plan so you can hear the next table's conversation easily. Good portions for a reasonable price for real bacon and eggs. My pancakes were well done, but I didn't have time to send them back. It was a good basic breakfast. I would visit again if I'm in the area because but not a place that requires a second visit. For me it was nothing to brag about. The service was normal and so was the food, but I'm ok with normal versus bad. read more

I like the place, it's a small family owned business. The food is good, not over sized portions, but filling. The only problem I had today was that service was SOOO slow today. Great place for a morning brunch! Been a few times with my family and I've loved my food each time. My only complaints would be that the tables are always sticky no matter how much they wipe them down (and they really wipe them down, I've seen 'em!) + still not understanding why a glass of orange juice is $3.39 if it's not fresh squeezed.
