I just tried to order takeout, its Mother's Day so understandably the first few times I got a busy signal. I tried again a guy answered and said "one moment" as I wait I hear scuffling after 1minute there is a click noise and annoying beeping. My husband said maybe they put you on hold, so i wait with the beeping. Two minutes later i hear a dial tone so apparently I got disconnected or hung up on. I choose to think disconnected and think they are busy, so I call back again. The same guy answers and as im saying I think i was disconnected...the guy hangs up on me!! I understand you guys are busy but hanging up twice on customers is not only rude and disrespectful its horrible customer service. My family and I tend to eat out alot, and I gaurentee we will never be customers ever again! read more

I love this place! It's a hidden gem. The prices are very reasonable, it is clean, very good veggie omelettes (my usual), and the service is awesome. It doesn't ever feel too crowded, and it's very cute! The variety in pancakes can be overwhelming in a good way. read more

My family and I decided to go here for breakfast this morning. After looking at the Yelp reviews we stopped in and proceeded to order one of the best breakfast we've had in a long time. The garden omelette we ordered contained all fresh vegetables and mushrooms nothing canned. My pecan waffle was cooked to perfection. We also got 2 orders of specialty pancakes for the children. The carrot cake pancakes we're delicious along with the apple crumb pancakes. It was just like desert in pancake form. The service was impeccable and attentive, the food was a great value, we will definitely be back as this is probably our new breakfast spot. No need to look any further. read more

Really great food, basically home cooking in a restaurant setting. Freaking to die for customer service. Love this place!

I only come for the pancakes, carrot cake pancakes are bomb.com! I don't care for the other stuff on the menu, I ordered chilli eggs and it was very bland. read more

I have been eating at the AM Cafe for about 2 years now. I use to eat here once sometimes twice a week. Lately their food has been going down hill. I just ate here with my friend and it was very disappointing. I found my food to be cold and over cooked. I have noticed a steady decline in their business lately and am not surprised. I asked if they had changed chefs but was told no. I hope they start improving or they will lose all their business. I am willing to give them another chance but they need to start doing way better before they are forced to close do to no customers. read more

Plenty of food for the price and it's pretty good, first time here and will be back, and the service is great nice people!!

You can't miss here. Everything is great. Home fries are the best. They have unique sweet spins on breakfast classics and their Eggs Benedict are my favorite!! read more

I had breakfast for the first time today. This place was recommended by a coworker to me. I must say customer service is good . The food is tasty and the menu has a lot to offer. If your looking for a good breakfast spot check them out. read more

Just a so so experience all around. I had the chicken and waffle which was god awful! Waffle was cold and mushy and the chicken was warm at best and very chewy. My wife had the country fried steak which was a little better than my meal but still a little chewy as well. The biscuits and gravy were fantastic! The whole family shared a side of Johnny cakes which were only ok in all our opinions and way over priced. The coffee tasted like whatever Walmart had on sale that week due to expiration dates. The service was very polite and friendly but that wouldn't be enough to lure me back to eat here again. I'd recommend Crazy Ottos far more to anybody looking for a great family place for an amazing breakfast experience. read more

We love the breakfasts here. Huge portions and so delicious. Quite a variety of pancakes. My favorite is the German chocolate pancakes. Do, however, try the biscuits & gravy and grits. You will not be disappointed. Alana, our waitress, treated us like old friends even though we had never met her before. She was a lot of fun. read more

Everything is so good! I love crazy ottos and Jackie's café but AM cafe is waaaay better

They moved from their old location on Sierra Hwy. The new location is easier to park at. But it looks like the original owners are no longer operating it. We ordered the breakfast. Eggs were runny, potatoes looks old and hard. Portions were not like the old location. The coffee tasted like it was filtered through old panty hose. We used to go to the old location and had no complaints. Wish we could say that same thing at the new location. read more

Walked in with my mother, her first time there, no acknowledgment whatsoever. Sat ourselves, waited for a menu, a server, anything .... nothing .... so we left .... having a great lunch and service at BJ's! read more

My sons and I LOVE this place. The staff is awesome, they're friendly, remember you, and make conversation. The buttermilk pancakes are out of this world good. They're by far my favorite. I can't bring myself to order any of the other flavors, not because I don't think they'll be good but I seriously love the buttermilk. The menu has a ton to offer, crepes (savory and sweet), different flavored pancakes, scrambles, omelettes ans much more. Make this a stop, you won't regret it. read more

Came here Mothers day weekend with the wife and her side of the family. She has been talking bad about this place since the last time she went there and she wanted to know how I felt about the restaurant. Now, I'm a very picky person. Why she would ask me to taste this food is a mystery for me but I did it. First, I don't think they know what a Johnny cake is supposed to taste like but they have the pancake mix down. Bye the way, johnny cakes have more than just corn in them. I ordered the safest thing I could think of cause I didn't want to be disappointed (too late). So, I ordered the onion rings. They were good and crunchy, but the ranch was nasty!! Other than that, the home fries had no flavor and I wasn't going to try the bacon. I just smoked some pastrami and bacon at my home so I wasn't going to mess up baco with their rendition, if you know what I'm saying. In the end, I would only go back if my wife makes me. Service was good but I go out for both. The other problem I have is onion rings came out before the Johnny cakes but two other people at our table ordered pancakes. Me and my wife's food came out last not two minutes like maybe give 5 - 10 minutes. I wondered why, that was very funny to me? Anyway, did I mention I'm only going here again if she makes me. read more

Had breakfast Jan. 26th. Was welcomed warmly, that was the last of the warmth though, service was cold. Noticed the sign "Best for 2013" wonder how that happened, both of our breakfasts was lukewarm & very, very bland. The breakfast burrito was least enjoyable of any of the coffee shops we've been to, the Sagebrush skillet wasn't hot, totally bland, very little ground beef in it. We wire very disappointed & will return to our usual place from now on. read more

I love how this cafe is decorated like a house, It's so cute! The atmosphere is quiet, and peaceful. Giving me those Sunday morning breakfast vibes, Especially when they have cute and festive cup mugs for your coffee that makes me laugh. This is a great place to bring the family in for breakfast read more

Not a bad place . The waitress smile and look happy. The food was good more than enough to eat price was good too. An ecclesiastical amount of food choices read more

Went here today for late breakfast, about 2 pm, maybe a few minutes after. Waitress was nice, but unhurried, and unfocused. She forgot to bring cream for our coffee until after she totaled a bunch of receipts. She had the cream at her elbow, but forgot until I got her attention. She took our order, and we waited...and waited...and waited. There was one large party of 10, but they got served right away, so one would thing the cook could handle 2 breakfasts. Every other table was empty. 20 minutes, 25 minutes...We were told our order was almost up. I said I hoped so, it had been a really long time. Two cups of bitter coffee later, I thought I'd give them 10 minutes. The owner (I assume) was there, walking around, talking to the waitress, looking in our direction. They went to the kitchen. Still no food. After my 10 minute countdown, we left. It had been about 40 minutes. If it had been busy, I could somewhat understand. So we came home, and I made mushroom/spinach/tomato/swiss cheese eggs with avocado, hash browns, and sourdough toast. Total prep/cooking time: 22 minutes. There's just no excuse. read more

Much of my take out order was missing. However the pancakes were really good, thus the extra star. I wont return.

The atmosphere is always great and service was great on point with the coffee refills all the time. I go here alot in the past. Good pricing and portions. There are items on the menu that I never get anymore because the chefs in the kitchen don't know how to make it. But for the most part the others items I order are good not great but good. Im a Chef so I think I know a little bit about cooking. If they don't fix the problem in the kitchen it will go down hill. Because there's a couple of other restaurants out there in the valley that are great. SO THAT SAID FIX THE PROBLEM IN THE KITCHEN. read more

My husband loves going out for breakfast and I don't! (Could this be a man thing, some of my friends say the same thing, lol.) One of those friends told me about this AM Café so I told my husband I would take him out for breakfast. Oh me, oh my, now I am the one wanting to go to breakfast. They have so many kinds of pancakes, regular, nutty grain, crepes, all types of crepes and so many other choices to make. I ordered the nutty grain, and was delighted. The waitress said there were 20 different nuts, seed and grains in these delightful pancakes. My husband enjoyed his meal. We will be back! I recommend this place and want to go back, not only for breakfast but want to try out their lunch menu also. Hope they are around for a long time. Clean with good atmosphere and not expensive. Very pleased. read more

On Saturday, March 29, 2015 My family and I went out to breakfast just as we do every Saturaday as a tradition. We try out new places in the Antelope Valley all the time, just to get some variety and good eats. This time my sister suggested we try AM Cafe. My first impression as we walked in was noticing that "at home" feel and how warm and friendly the waitresses are. They shouted out, "sit whereever you'd like"......Wow..this was going to be good experience, I could just feel it. (Skip to me receiving my food, I ordered the AM omelet and asked for double sausage instead of bacon and sausage). Wow...looks good, I dug right in! Right away I noticed a freezer burn taste and a slighly racid taste. I ignored it at first thinking it was just that piece, so I keep going cause I'm greedy and hungry and then by the third bite, I can't help it, I had to stop eating, it was just that bad. After the waitress asked if I'd like a to-go container, I politely let her know how it taste and she said, "hummm we don't freeze anything" and I responded, "I don't know what it could be." Then I think she apologized, not sure but she did offer to take my order off the bill, I agreed with no further discussion. Now here goes the disappointment: After receiving the bill, I noticed the waitress didn't take the meal off as she said. When I pointed this out to her, she said she had to get the manager/owner cause she didn't know???? Know "what" I thought, but I didn't question it. When the owner MIKE came back, he just stood there and looked, in a "can I help you" manner. I explained why I was still standing there waiting and he started shaking his head and saying things like: We made this omelet special for you and .... well everybody else liked their food...i guess I'll just take the loss...he was very upset with me and went on and on...I said, "that's okay, don't take it off if you don't want to" ....then he went on and on again....even showing me on the bill where someome else ordered the same omelet with no complaint (she was later sick, by the way). I repeated and this time insisting...don't take it off. He responded, I already did! All the while shaking his head like I did something wrong, insinuating that I lied..even though the omelet was not eaten, never once apologizing. Never have I ever experienced such rude behavior and this person was the owner. The waitress was nice and thanked us as we left but the owner did not. I was sooo disappointed and expected better. Hopefull after this review the owner will contact me and apologize for his horrible behavior. If you eat here and you're ASKED how things are tasting ....if your food taste a little off, don't TELL! Just keep it to yourself. read more

So i was looking for a new spot to eat as I was in the mood for breakfast, and after reading reviews I decided to give this place a shot. My first initial thought was one of intrigue as I looked around at the Spanish flare, and the various chickens and antiques lining the wall... but the place felt homey in its own way. I was greeted by friendly staff, but unfortunately this is where my first problem started that caused me to dock a star. After receiving our drinks we needed a moment to browse the menu, we waited for a solid 15+ minutes left sitting there for staff to return, and even though there were only one or two other booths occupied, we had almost seemed to be forgotten. I was about 30 seconds from walking out but I must admit I am glad I stayed because the food was very delicious. I ordered the famers plate with home fries, and carrot cake pancakes (which were scrumptious I can see why its a specialty). Unfortunately the water tasted straight out of the lancaster tap so I had to order a tea but overall I had a decent time, and I will be coming back in the near future. In short : Food is great, staff is friendly but needs to work on time management, and the water is a no no. read more

Just what you want a diner to be! Always very friendly people, very good food and lots of variety. Cute inside - a mix of it's former life as a Mexican restaurant and it's current home for lots of roosters! Servings are generous - I always take home enough for two more meals. read more

We went there on a Sunday morning around 11:00 with a party of twenty-seven people. This place is awesome. They pulled a bunch of tables together, let us have separate checks and served up great food, all with a friendly smile. The prices are great for what you get but make sure you come with a big appetite. They will split a meal without charging extra and if it's a breakfast I think you end up with even more when they split a breakfast then if they served it on one plate. They have a farmhand special that comes with 2 eggs, 2 pieces of meat, hash browns or home fries, and a choice of homemade breads, toasts, biscuits and gravy, or pancakes of your choice (chocolate chip, peach, pumpkin, Johnny cakes, etc.) for 6.99. They will be moving soon so make sure you call to see if they are still on Sierra Highway or if they are now on 10th Street west in Lancaster. read more
