We had a great experience with Always Green Turf. We recently had a pool put in and the rest of the yard was a bit of a mess. We had a lot of weeds and the grass was patchy and mostly non existent. We had a retaining wall that was just loose pavers stacked haphazardly. At the first appointment, we shared our vision with Travis from Always Green, he took measurements, and then he sat down with us on the designs. He also provided an estimate which was very reasonable (we had received other estimates from 3 companies that were all thousands of dollars more). He provided some professional recommendations. In the designs and we agreed for them to do the work and scheduled right then. After he left we iterated a couple times on the design until we got it right. On the scheduled day, the team Xavier, Manuel, Rene, and Juan came and started working building the wall and leveling the yard. The project manager, Tom, also came. I explained the job and walked them through everything we had finalized with Travis. There were a couple things that didn't get communicated from the design team to the builders, but they made sure they were clear with me before starting. The whole process took 3 days. Tom communicated well with us on the progress. Xavier made sure to ask questions if there was anything unclear. Also, they cleaned up pretty well after. There were a couple minor things that needed to be tweaked after, and they made sure to take care of those quickly. Tom provided us instructions on how to care for the yard to make it last a long time. We are very happy with our transformed back yard! read more

It has been a month or so since I got my new yard. (Front and backyard) We were so excited to not have to mow the yards every week! Oh was I wrong. The main reason for this review is to let you know to ask about a grass and weed blocker to be put down! We did not but do remember being told they would dig down far enough to take care of it. We got rocks in the front and now have our old grass growing through the rocks and in the back yard through the seams as well. Not only did we spend good money to get this done but now we have to spend more money to get rid of the grass again. Nice yard but dead grass in our rocks. We are so disappointed. Service received was exceptional, from Anthony the representative that came out and spoke to me and took all of the measurements and helped create our design and plan, to all the other staff members we spoke with in the office, the project manager and the installers themselves. Installers arrive daily ready to begin work at 6 AM sharp. I happen to be off most of the days of installation and was able to observe. They are so incredibly thorough. It was shocking. The amount of time they took, the amount of supplies used and just how thorough they were on every detail blew my mind. They took no shortcuts. The final outcome exceeded my expectations. The additional 24 inches of pavers they added to my driveway are seamless, I cant tell where my original driveway ended, and the extension begins. The walkway leading to my side gate and the paver pad they added, for my trash cans are cut and laid perfectly. This is the second home that I have trusted with always green turf. I am a repeat Customer, hopefully I am in my forever home, but if needed, I would use them again and I recommend them to anyone. read more

Harassing phone calls. I reached out years ago to this company for a turf quote, along with 3 other companies. This is the only company that still calls and texts me repeatedly. Back to back to back. It's always a call, I ignore it, it calls again immediately within a minute, 3rd call is within 10. Then I get texts in multiple. I try to block the numbers and they just call from other numbers and they block those too. My coworkers have said the same thing. Do not call them or sign up for any services. Do not get a quote. You will never be able to get rid of them. I try to answer the calls and it doesn't do any good. You cant get removed from their list. If there is a way their customer service won't do it. I'm going to have to start going onto multiple websites including the BBB if I cant get this resolved soon. It really sucks because I did like them but the harassment made me not pick their company. read more

Met with a sales rep (Joseph Florez) to disciuss a backyard project for a new build residential home. Joseph was very attentive to my description of the intended design and we hit it off as former San Diegans (Go Chargers!). Our meeting took place on a Tuesday and after measuring up the yard, he promised that his crew could start on Tuesday of the following week and have the job done by Wednesday. Although the timing was off by a half day, the crew provided for the work was solid, energetic, and worked with me to ensure my design needs were met. We used this company to replace all our backyard grass with artificial turf. I would recommend going with someone else. Initially we were pleased with the outcome. Despite starting a day later than scheduled and leaving the job unfinished over a weekend, the end result looked good. However, within three weeks grass started growing at the edges and through the turf. When the company was contacted they said this was not a warranty issue and was bound to happen. We received quotes from several turf companies. All but this one apparently stressed the need to pretreat the ground for weed and grass to prevent this problem. This company may have mentioned it but surely did not do it. Please avoid the mistake I made and choose someone who will do the job correctly and not cut corners. read more

First of all the salesman, Travis, showed up on time for the appointment, looked sharp, was diligent in measuring, showing samples, everything. So far so good - the front of the house is on it. After getting the work scheduled a team of three guys led by Carlos came out on time, fully equipped and got the job done in maybe 7.5 hours. He explained the cleaning and maintenance to me, advised I get a turf rake and was easy to deal with. Again, it was a small job but they were professionals. The guy who supervised the job, set up my warranty and collected the check, Tom, was very customer service oriented. You want service and his attitude is great about it. Let me start by saying my wife and I loved nearly everything about working with AGT. We had looked into a few different companies and AGT seemed to have the best product and process that made sense. They were very prompt and professional as soon as we requested a quote, Austin worked with our vision and Aaron made it happen. We requested a combination of pavers, rock inlay, and turf. They arranged the project a week or so later and got it done in a few days. They even gave advice to protect the turf from melting by getting sun screen shades installed on a couple windows facing the turf. We have a pretty big dog who was in need of his own space and he was happy with the finished project from day one. We loved how clean everything looked. It was also nice with the promos and deals they were able to save us a couple thousand dollars. Now not even a few weeks in, we've started to notice a problem. There are weeds starting to grow through the turf and rock inlay. I contacted Aaron and he recommended spraying a weed killer will take care of current and future growth. He even gave me contact to a trusted weed specialist. Unfortunately, weeds growing after the project is not part of the 2 year repair/manufacture warranty or 10 year product/craftsmanship warranty. Looking on their website under 'our process' it states 'with some applications we recommend a weed barrier to protect your new lawn from weeds and wild vegetation.' I understand you cannot always predict which projects need it but we were not even offered this service. It would've been nicer to be proactive rather than reactive. That being said, I still think their products are great, they are extremely friendly and accommodating, they worked very hard, and we definitely liked the initial finished project. It is unfortunate we now have to deal with the aftermath and fallout, but i guess if you have the extra time and elbow grease, it might get better. read more

Jaron came out and was very informative with the sales aspect. He was flexible with our schedule and understood our budget. He worked with us until we felt comfortable in this backyard investment. The crew was good and worked hard! It took 3 days of work because they ran into some irrigation issues. Once the crew was done we still struggled with some irrigation. I called Tom and he came right over the next day to help out. We are happy with the finished product! We replaced the grass in our yard with turf/rocks and overall would recommend this company. We had an issue with all the product being dropped off before the project started. It was dropped of in the middle of our neighborhood street and no cones or anything were put around it. The police were called because it was a safety hazard. We did a huge backyard remodel with always green turf! Was it 100% smooth, no... we had a few bumps in the road, but mostly ones that none of us really anticipated. We had a few concerns that we communicated with the team, and they were very receptive and took quick action of the concerns we had and did what they needed to, to make it right. The job ended up being bigger than I think we ALL anticipated it to be with the curve balls we had with some structural stuff out of our control. I was very grateful we chose a company with the man power to get it handled, and the talent to do what we needed to make it right ! All in all our yard looks BEAUTIFUL Ryan was extremely helpful and supportive from the very beginning. Kendalynn and Justin also helped a ton along the way and had great communication skills (especially Kendalynn) . I even had connection with the owner, Daniel... (like I said it was a big job)! I was glad I was able to be home majority of the time to keep a close eye on things and to ask the questions I needed along the way - and their communication was great. Only complaint I really have is that the construction guys could be cleaner and more respectful of that. Daniel the owner is aware, and said he will absolutely work on that with his teams. We had a massive area of turf laid, and you CAN see the seems which I'm a little disappointed about (wish there was a way to blend them more) . I'm hopeful it will blend more over time. The quality of the turf feels very nice, and the pavers and retaining wall look great. All in all, I think they're a great company to get turf installed from and have very good customer service. No one company is perfect, but at least they take ownership of their mistakes and act on it immediately to make it right. That's a company I want to work with! They then sent me a video message and six additional text messages over the course of the next six hours. That's 8 separate outreach attempts in 6 hours.
