I've stayed at Canopy by Hilton twice now and both times I booked through Amex and had a $100 food & beverage credit, so I got to try a lot of food at Alter Ego. For a hotel restaurant, it's pretty great. The menu has a lot of options and everything is pretty tasty. As a regular restaurant I'm not quite sure I would go if I lived in the area, but I also wouldn't rule it out. Both trips I had the Fork & Knife Breakfast Burrito and it was absolutely incredible. You can EASILY feed two people with this, and I'm sad to say I almost finished the whole thing this morning. Fast forward 10 hours and I wasn't even that hungry for dinner, but I had the miso salmon which the bartender recommended and was great. The menu was slightly different from a year and a half ago so it's nice to see they don't just let the menu sit for frequent visitors of the hotel. Service has always been excellent from both bars/restaurants in the hotel.

Crispy Pork Belly

Not the best hotel restaurant I've been too, although I appreciate the experimental nature of it. Came here on my checkout day for a quick lunch - the server looked a little done with it all, lol? Food was ok - the crispy pork belly was over fried and too much flavor, and "sticky rice" is just Asian rice.... Maybe it's just the area The latte was good though, but that was about it. Prices felt a little expensive for the taste but it is what it is at a hotel I guess.

Proscuitto Flatbread

Stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday night at 5:45pm. Restaurant was relatively empty with a few tables of people and a few individuals at the bar. Ordered the prosciutto flatbread, miso salmon, a side of brussel sprouts and a side of extra noodles. Server was knowledgable and helpful with recommendations. The prosciutto flatbread was good but was heavy on the balsamic, which was less sweet and more so tart. The salmon dish was also good, but the salmon could have used more sauce. They were willing to accommodate my request for the spice to be removed from the noodle dish, which was awesome, but overall the noodles were relatively bland, so I assume the spice would have helped mask the bland flavor. The brussel sprouts were good and came with bacon and cheese. Overall, the ambience was great, the restaurant was clean, our server was great, and the food was decent.

Love this venue. Very good food and best of all they have Butter Cake! Events happening all month long. Some amazing staff. Don't forget to check out the Paint Nite events they have monthly.

Cool restaurant near ASU. Service is friendly and chill. I only had a Diet Coke and the portion was generous for about $5.

Kung Pao Chicken Wings

The wings weren't spicy but had such good flavor. The orange chicken was nice and spicy, loved the flavor and big portion. Drinks were delicious, melon mule with mezcal was a must. The service lag a little but busy with one server who was attentive enough to grab things when we needed. Cute patio to savor the sunshine in Tempe.

Simple day needed a nice drink... didn't get any food yet, the service was fast. The ambiance in here is really nice the wing are good but actually the califlower was the best I am not sure what they dip them in but they were Amazing ....the food was amazing

Shaved Brussels Sprouts & Arugula Salad

Yesterday, I had the Togarashi Tofu and it was very well prepared. The tofu was Avery good flavor and very tender. The surrounding veggies and rice made it a really good lunch. The server - Armando was very helpful and professional. Today, I had the Shaved Brussels Sprouts salad with tofu . It was crunchy, sweet, tangy, and downright delicious! The server, Armando was polite, personal and attentive. Well done.

Decided to come for brunch myself on a Sunday. I was so happy I did because there was a live music and a small farmers market in the hotel. I ended up grabbing some gifts to go and even got a free tasting of tequila. I would definitely suggest putting some more veggies with the Benedict maybe tomato or avocado could complement it better. Overall, I had a really lovely brunch with great service.

My friend and I stopped in here on a Friday evening for drinks, and there was lots of seating available. We ordered our drinks at the bar, and then sat outside to enjoy the cool weather. The bar tender that helped us was very polite and made our drinks quickly. I don't remember the name of what I ordered, but it had mezcal and tequila in it, and it was absolutely amazing! The smokiness of the mezcal hit right at the end and lingered for just the right amount of time. Highly recommend this spot for drinks. I've heard they also do an awesome brunch, so I'll be back for that soon.

Alter Ego hosted a paint night but I had plans to check out the bar food as I had been missing special events they were having here over the past few months. Surprised it wasn't as busy on a Friday night, but it was near the holidays so people were sheltered with family. Bartender and host for the night was great. He spent time remembering my name and our drink orders which says a lot about the business... I kept it light on the eats, & went with the Ginger Meatballs, Street Fries and of course, a few drinks from the bar. Ginger Meatballs were impressive and had a lot of flavor... so good that I doubled down and got another round (kinda like my drinks). Drinks from the bar didn't disappoint and on par price wise when it comes to "craft cocktails". Looking forward to my next return trip for dinner!

Delicious Cold Press Juices - strawberry lemonade

Really enjoyed our time at Alter Ego for breakfast! Found it on Yelp and figured let's try it. Our server was lovely and attentive and so courteous, we enjoyed him serving us and offering us options when we needed help (I'm indecisive and always ask for help between 2-4 dishes!) and that was great. Went with the Egocado toast and the Eggsando which is a sandwich which was really tasty. It had a special sauce in it and the insides were so tasty. I enjoyed mine with eggs and chicken sausage, it's chopped up and mixed with the egg and went in the sandwich. The hash browns that came with the sando were BOMB though! Wowza, perfectly crispy and flavored very nicely. My girlfriend had an espresso martini and she said it was tasty. I had cold pressed juice which was premade and bottled, it was very tasty. The ambiance of the place was cool and casual, with a bit of flare as they had a live guitarist and singer playing some cool 90s and 2000s acoustic style. That was awesome. Not sure if they do that only on weekends but it gave it a special feel with it playing in the background. Overall we enjoyed it, food was good, spot was good, and service was great.

Looked at Tic Toc for a recommendation and this restaurant didn't disappoint. Ordered belly pork bowl and orange mandarin chicken both with noodles. Both were delicious. The restaurant is part of a hotel. Decor was very tasteful and just simply a pleasant place for lunch.

The bartender Jake was a doll, very personable and professional. The Happy Hour menu had a good variety of different types of food and good prices. I got the whipped feta.... it was decadent!!!! I asked Jake what was his favorite pasta dish was, so I ordered that just ate a couple bites, but I wanted it for lunch today so I got the pistachio sausage rigatoni.!!!! WOW!!!! The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. Overall, this is a great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and photos, but the food is fairly mediocre compared to the setting.

Narrow, arched hallways, colorfully-illuminated bricks, and loud music automatically set the mood and leave you ready to party. There's also a modest kitchen, and at the right time, a speakeasy. What I love: This was my first time trying a Spaghett. It sounds dumb, but enough aperol makes just about anything palatable. There's a pretty deep roster of beer/seltzer cans, too. The summer crowd was nice, and despite it being the off-season you still had brands doing promos and showing off new products. What I like: A small window in the back to order bar food. You won't regret the sliders! What needs work: It was early and not a particularly crowded day, but somehow the kitchen was out of quite a few items. When you step up to the bar, prepare to WAIT. It's located inside a hotel so you have to come up the elevator and when you turn the corner and walk into the vestibule you are immediately thrown into the Halloween experience. There's a seating area and some shelves and now there's a phantom there, as well as mood lighting and some spooky little touches like skulls and scary doll heads. When you walk through to the actual bar, there is a giant skeleton in the red Moody lighting. There are spider webs everywhere but my favorite thing in the entire bar was on a credenza that held spooky dolls - - and a very creepy clown doll with a broken leg. I really want that clown doll! There is a circle of ghost children dancing and a coffin in the corner. They do have a haunted Halloween cocktail menu, and while you can still order from the regular menu, they've actually temporarily removed some of the regular cocktails to make room for the Halloween cocktails. We ordered the Clown Pear-anoia, okay mezcal cocktail served in a spooky clown mug, and the Widows Whisper, a Halloween tiki drink. As always at Little Rituals, the cocktails were delish. Little rituals has received many awards, including a James Beard semifinalist for outstanding bar, and the 2025 Best U.S. Hotel Bar. If you like cocktail bars, you have to go to little rituals. One thing I liked about this bar was that there actually wasn't a DJ during the weekend I was there. It was really nice to just have a drink and socialize without a bumping bass system in the back and music so loud you can't hear the person next to you. Super chill yet still a good vibe. But, if you're looking for a really cool bar, KWSC is for you. I stopped by on a week day evening around 8:30 p.m. Located in Roosevelt Row, while there isn't parking, I found free parking on the street a few minutes away on foot. Ambiance (4.5/5): My type of spot. Dimly lit with a speakeasy vibe. There are eight or so seats at the bar, and the rest of your seating options consist of comfortable chairs and sofas. You'll see a lot of photos of people's bums on the walls lol. This is indeed part of the appeal. For free, if you would like, they will take a polaroid of your butt and memorialize you eternally on the walls. While I didn't do that, if that's up your alley, go for it. Service (2/5): This is the main area of improvement. After being seated, I was greeted promptly and got my first cocktail promptly. From there, things fell apart. I had to grab the bartender's attention to order my second drink and to close out. It was a week day and they weren't busy. And there were two bartenders. A lack of attentiveness. When I closed out, I noticed that the cocktails were both $2 more expensive than what was listed on the menu. When I inquired, I was told that the menus were outdated... umm what? If you're not going to re-print your menus, give people a heads-up when they arrive. I understand that most people won't notice, but this is deception. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet. If you're trying to eat here, all they have is snacks. The menu doesn't specify but I'm thinking it's probably chips or somethign like that. Drinks (4/5): A lengthy, and interesting, cocktail list. Similar to a speakeasy, you're going to see creativity and an interesting blend of flavors here. The most popular drink is Fuck Nazis. We're seeing a theme here. KWSC is an interesting spot. For various dollar amounts, you can get funny things outside of the polaroids of your bum. My first cocktail was great. My second one, a tiki drink, not so much. The menu said that there would be some flame action happening. It didn't. Just another example of the service falling short. If the service were better, Killer Whale Sex Club would easily be a five-star experience.
