A little gem! Love coming to this place after a good hike or ride. However, watch out! The counter gal is snarky, rude and pretentious.

My husband knows I love visiting new cafes...so he surprised me by taking me here this morning. I must say I was quite impressed, it's a gorgeous little place (I'm not local only visiting for a few months so I'm not sure what it looked like before) however you can see it has been thoughtfully and carefully renovated. It has a lovely indoor space, mainly white with walnut seating and tables. It feels open and welcoming yet still has that cozy air about it. The front counter beautifully modern and showcasing pastries and artisan coffee. There is also outdoor seating perfect for warm summer days. The gentlemen who served is was very helpful, (explaining the coffee varieties to us and others) we ordered lattes and egg on toast with avocado. The latte had quite a cereal flavour which I didn't mind, but I didn't really love either. My preference is quite a rich strong taste, but I like to try new things too. The avocado on artisan sourdough was delicious with a perfectly cooked egg. I also tried a drip filter coffee which I quite enjoyed, it had that strong flavour I like in my coffee. As we left the barista made sure to ask if we enjoyed everything, it was a nice touch considering the snobby baristas I've encountered at MANY other cafes in town. Excellent all around. For being open barely a month, Alpine Modern Café has the trappings of your next favorite place. The European influence on the menu, including the tartines for breakfast, are thoughtful and savory and the coffee is very well done. The space is small, but the interior design takes advantage of every square inch along with lots of natural light. The staff is courteous and focused on providing a great experience. I've been a number of times and each visit has improved upon the last. read more

Spent a couple of hours whiling away a morning with my daughter here. I only had drip coffee - but it was good. My daughter reported the spicy chai was delicious. The overall vibe represents the name. Modern. It was pretty tight inside, but there was ample and perfect seating outside. If you're allergic to people sporting every type of Apple product, you might be aghast at the display -not a problem for me. Loved it, and would go again. This place knows exactly what it's doing. They have a sleek modern design that is still welcoming and a menu to match, Contemporary American that doesn't have much variety because it doesn't need to. However there is a great selection of teas, which I definitely enjoyed as that is something lacking at most usual coffee shops. Super cute place, but if you've ever worked in a half-way decent cafe you'll know this ain't shit. Paid $6 for a macchiato with oat milk, coffee tasted burnt as fuck (like a bad decaf) and they used whole milk instead of oat. The proportions were also very off, or they over-pull their shots. Either way, $6 is nuts for what I got hahah. They did a pretty good job with the latte art, but again, you shouldn't be able to do art with a macchiato, given that it's a shot of espresso with a dollop of steamed milk. Milk was also burnt and bubbly, microfoam. But also I'm a hyper-critical bitch so it's fine. I've just spent so much time and effort at my own cafe it's disappointing to see people not give a fuck about how the coffee they're making actually tastes, or if it's even correct . It's fine hah. This place is obviously beautiful inside and out, with a well-kept exterior and well-decorated interior. The prices are more than I would ever pay again. The one dollar sign is deceiving for sure because that's why we chose this cafe in the first place. I totally realize that at places like this you pay for the ambiance, but my issue was with the service. I asked for an iced caramel macchiato thinking they could just add caramel flavoring to the macchiato for me, but the barista looked at me like I was dumb and said that he could make an iced latte with vanilla and caramel because a macchiato is "an entirely different thing." Okay. Turns out the drink ended up being almost $6 when the macchiato I wanted with syrup added would've only been $4 even. My friend had a matcha latte and paid over $2 more than advertised (almost $7) which she thinks had to of been from an upcharge for different milk that she wasn't told about. At the end of the day, service makes or breaks a place for me and I can even overlook higher prices for it, but I wouldn't want to come back to a place that makes me feel like I'm not good enough to be there. That was the feeling my friend and I both received based on the attitude of the employees. read more

Alpine Modern Cafe is my perfect coffee shop. The atmosphere is so beautiful: marble everywhere, industrial lights and exposure, natural lighting, honeycomb tiles on the floor, and minimalist everything. The baristas were super friendly and the coffee was pretty good despite them only having a 12oz cup for iced drinks. It was absolutely packed on a Sunday afternoon, and is an awesome place to get some work done if you love a quiet background noise and plenty of people buzzing around you! read more

All form, no function. great location, really pretty, & have all the gadgets, but the coffee is consistently underwhelming at best. they even get beans from an amazing roaster (which is why i kept going back) and still make really mediocre coffee. come for the scenery, stay for the design, dont bother with the coffee. read more

This place is a really outstanding cafe. Excellent job guys. I am a bit of an espresso nerd, and I was a little concerned when I saw their ultra-hip espresso setup. (You can see it in the pictures here on Yelp.) But as it turns out, they serve Middle State Coffee, and the espresso blend I had there twice was quite good. I also had the avacado with olive spread on toast with egg, and it was extremely well done. They use a smokey Spanish paprika, which I love. Super clean, smelled great, and great light. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Boulder. read more

We live around the corner and think it is just such a luxury to have such a beautiful cafe right in the neighborhood. The staff is wonderful and the outdoor seating is lovely. All the pretzel sammies are delicious as well. My only wish is they would start using local milk such as Morning Fresh like every other nice cafe in town, or some other quality organic milk. It not only would be healthier for all of us but I imagine it would make the espresso drinks taste better too! read more

Currently drinking the WORST (and very expensive) Americano I have ever had. The exterior patio is beautiful as well as their interior design, but maybe they could have invested some of that into better beans? Presses? Who knows. We arrived at 3:15 and they treated us like we were a huge inconvenience (they close at 4pm, but you would've thought we came 5 minutes before close). We came with great expectations and left disheartened. The cold brew was lacking flavor, as if it was steeped the bare minimum amount of time. The chai latte was bland. The avocado tartine with egg was salty...like horribly over salted. The presentation of the food was nice, but then dig in and complete disappointment. Good food, but I've ordered delivery from them three times, and each time they've messed up my order! Last time I ordered their avocado toast, as well as one of their bowls and some tea, and all I got was the toast. They should pay more attention to their deliveries, because this is really turning me off. Not sure I'd ever order from them again. read more
