This place is great I've been 2x already. The ube coconut waffle is so bomb. You will have purple lips and teeth (you've been warned) but it's worth it. The loco moco was delicious and so was the Katau chicken. The gravy on the loco moco makes the dish and my bf said he will order it again. The katsu chicken was super crispy and delicious it did come with a teriyaki sauce (on the sauce) but I didn't try it I need to watch my sugar intake and teriyaki sauce tends to be sweet so I didn't try it. Service: is great they bring water to your table after you place your order at the counter. Today was cool because the manager (at least I think he is the manager) brought us a free strawberry muffin while we were waiting for a food. First time trying this place. Definitely unique in its own way compared to other fast casual restaurants. The ambiance is very welcoming and the staff is incredibly friendly. The manager I assume was very welcoming to everyone who came in and even offered us a free slice of cheesecake! Prior to that we already decided this was a great place to eat. You order at the counter and the pick a table. They have reserved markers on them but it's to ensure people don't save tables prior to ordering which is nice and not stressful. Food is great and they bring it to your table. They also bring water to your table which is great! We got the island chilaquiles and the meat lovers omelet with two buttermilk pancakes. We have been driving for years to Cerritos. Soooo excited to have aloha stacks here in Whittier. This is my favorite breakfast in california when I can't be with my family in Hawaii (my mom lived there). This loco moco is way better than the Hawaiian favorite ZIPPYs. This place is really an upgrade from Cerritos- lots of tables- amazing customer service- nice touch of bringing everyone carafes of water to the table. Not sure about uncovered silverware on table in baskets - I see a lot of people liking that. But kids will touch it- and it seems a bit unsanitary. My only negative is that I have never gotten to try their lunch items because they close so early. Wish this place could be open after 3pm. read more

Been wanting to try out this place. This facility has an order first, seat after type of format. It is a lively brunch establishment that incorporates a relaxed ambience with an American diner/Hawaiian style. My friends opted for their Crab Omelette, Spicy Chicken + Bacon Waffle, Strawberry Cheesecake, Iced Hawaiian Latte, and Iced Ube Latte. Their Crab Omelette was a pretty hefty dish that incorporated roasted potatoes, mushrooms, diced onions, spinach, and soft shell crab paired along with a Garlic Cream & Hollandaise Sauce. The Spicy Chicken + Bacons Waffle consisted of a spicy chicken katsu filet, bacon, cheese, powdered sugar, a waffle, and maple syrup. A true combination of American diner and Hawaiian style cuisines. The waffles were a bit too soggy, while the chicken was way too overpowering in its flavoring. However, I can certainly see why it was a highly recommended item from regulars and other Yelpers. The Strawberry Cheesecake was pretty good. However, it nothing particularly different or special. The crust was a bit too soft to our liking, but to each their own. Lastly, the Iced Ube Latte and Iced Hawaiian Latte were beautifully crafted in their presentation paired along with a fragrant coffee aroma. The Ube Latte only consisted of the ube color, but consisted of no ube flavor. The Hawaiian Latte, on the other hand, was the true star between the two, where the combination of the coffee aroma and Macadamia certainly made it quite unique.
