This place is great! For my gender reveal I ordered a large concha to split open with the color reveal inside. They were able to accommodate my order and my order of 100 pan dulces.. including 2 dozen blue and 2 dozen pink conchas. Will definitely be back to order for the next party! The pan was delicious! read more

The employees are rude. Tamales were bland but conchas were great. Definitely not enough to make us come back.

I stopped in to pick up some tamales and was pleasantly surprised. The bakery looked clean, well maintained, and the staff were friendly, polite, and attentive. The tamales were just ok but I'll definitely cone back and try their other baked goods including pan dulce. read more

I have been here many times but the quality has truly dropped. I order 3 items which was a concha (good), a giant flat swirl cinnamon looking like an oversized elephant ear (its okay but a bit dry), and a puff pastry with a glaze of some sort(burnt inside and out) which I threw away as it smelled and tasted burnt. This is my fault for not taking the receipt but I was told would be charged around $5.25 dollars plus a credit card fee of $0.50 for 3 items but I just saw my credit statement and its $8.25. read more

Bread was dry. They have a notice that they charge for 50 cents for debit and credit however this is against VISA and master cards rules which states they cannot charge for debit. read more

Terrible customer service!

The lady who does cashier in the morning for Mondays and Tuesdays has been before but as of recently even more rude and in attentive to customers. She ignores questions/answers rudely and doesn't even answer at all sometimes. She was discriminatory to the lady infront of us in line and then rude to me because I said something. She should not be handling customers at all. read more

Sorry but this place is just average. The Mexican bread just average, nothing special about it . The reason I decided to write this review, the lady behind the counter. I went there this morning to purchase some Mexican bread for an event I needed to attend. My normal bakery was closed. The lady behind the counter was so rude, simply Blew my mind A small business needing to generate sales from patrons like myself. Left such a this taste in my mouth that six hours after my visit I felt compelled to write this review. Not only was he attitude poor made it worse by charging three dollars for a cardboard box that probably cost $.20. A lack of flavor and the bread, absolutely horrid attitude and miscellaneous charges equals a recipe for disaster with this business concerned it's been years since I've been here I can guarantee you I will never return read more

The bolillos were ok. Place was clean and well organized. Customer's Attention was friendly and very helpful.

A true delight! This bakery has a sister location in Montebello on Whittier Blvd & Garfield which also provides a great selection of "pan dulce"/sweet bread. This location located in Uptown Whittier has convenient street parking and a great selection of pan dulce, tamales, champorado, bolilos, cakes, pastries, and sandwiches. The selections are always fresh and the service is excellent. I highly recommend the bolilos which are so soft and perfect for making sandwiches or stuffing with cheese and frijoles (beans). The sandwiches are also very tasty, a bit pricy, but worth the price. Don't forget to buy a reusable bag. Enjoy your visit! read more

The friendly staff was very helpful and attentive. The pan Dulce choices was awesome.

I have no idea who the lady was who helped my mother in law, but she shared with me how rude she was with her. I see now based off other reviews that many others have experienced the same. My mother in law grabbed her bolio bread that she needed, about four, she has been waiting for sometime and no one was in the front to charge her so she kindly yelled out hello excuse me and she then noticed a lady in the back room but she was being ignored. She was about to leave when the lady appears and asks her what she needed and if all that fuss for that amount of bread, and that next time she needs to ring the bell (my mother in law didn't see the tiny bell) read more

They make a pretty good tamale. I ordered Tamales last year for my holiday dinner and they were loaded with meat and the prepare a very good chili sauce. I tried the green pork, the red beef and the chili and cheese. I haven't tried their sweet bread yet, maybe on my next trip :) read more

My one star review is not for the bakery but for a worker name Lily. She's not friendly and very rude to customers. The other ladies that work there (Norma, Betty) are so noce and welcoming . Lily should not work in a place that requires customer service. I love the bread but sometimes I rather not stop if I see her there.. I hope the owner listens to the comments so they don't loose customers because of her.. read more

Super cheap! Super delicious. I get the rainbow cookie with rainbow sprinkles. The service is fast and they only charge 3$ for the items.

Horrible customer service from Ana . She tried making fun of my Spanish and I put her on check . Told her she needs a new attitude to serve people . There are so many other options in Whittier for delicia bread ! Forget this place . Management should have her fold boxes and not deal with people . Beware of this vieja amargada ! read more

Great little spot for some delicious pastries. The pan dulces are all fresh and tasty. Service is friendly and helpful.

Their pan dulce is good but nothing to rave about, just good pan dulce. Their service is what will keep me from returning. I've placed two large orders of their mini pan dulce and the service was not great in both instances. The first order I placed two days before I needed the bread and it was for 120 pieces of the mini pan. I was lectured on how they needed more notice and they were going to make an exception, etc. But they took my order and it didn't even bother me so much because I get it, as much advanced notice is always a good thing. Part of the issue is for larger orders is you can't just call in your order, you have to go in in-person to pay for the order in advance. The second time, I placed the order 5 days in advanced and when I went in to order, it was again for over 100+ mini breads. When I ordered the bread I asked for an assortment of the mini pan dulce (the same thing I ordered the first time) only thing is this time the girl that assisted me on this occasion told me I couldn't order an assortment, I had to give her the exact number of each type of breads. Again ordering an assortment the first time was not an issue because they're all the same price. I just went along with it and gave her totals. I did ask that the bread be boxed in 6 different boxes because they were bring dropped off in multiple locations, and again it's over 100+ pieces. She then goes on to tell me she doesn't know if that can be done, she'll let me know, they may need to charge me for boxes, etc. Well the day I picked up the bread, she charged me $19 aside from what I had already paid for the bread for the cost of boxes, plain simple cake boxes. They're just not customer friendly, at least not for larger orders so I won't be back. read more

The champurrado and the tamales used to be better. Today, I bought two chicken tamales and it had a few shoe strings of chicken and mostly masa. The champurrado tasted like a weak atole. Unless they change their suppliers, I am not going back. read more

This review is purely on the service not the quality of their bakery items. The bakery items are honestly excellent but because of the service, I'd not be confortable recommending. I've been coming here for YEARS. I love their champurrado. I'll risk being late to work for it. But this woman that has been working the counter for a while, older Hispanic woman. Maybe 40's. Short hair. Speaks Spanish only, she's SO RUDE TO ME. idk why! I'm honestly very polite. Say hello, thank you etc. I smile. I do not speak Spanish. But I can conduct a transaction despite that. I understand the basics like dollar amounts, etc. she won't acknowledge me at all. She won't even greet me when I am next at the counter. She won't make eye contact. She won't even hand my change back to me, she'll drop it on the counter. And when the next person walks up, she gladly greets them in Spanish. So because of her, I'll likely never be back. It's enough. The other people that work there have never treated me this way. There's a younger girl who works there with vibrant hair and she's so cool, but this woman is just nasty. So if you're Hispanic like me and DO NOT SPEAK SPANISH, Be ready to be treated disrespectfully. read more

This is a great place to go if you want fresh authentic Mexican bread. They always have a wide selection of all types of bread from sweet bread to bread that you can use to make sandwiches. They also have candies they also have ice cream and Mexican popsicles. I just recommend for you to go early in the morning because the certain breads will run out and it might take a minute for them to make a new ones. I highly recommend this place just make sure that you're prepared to find parking because parking is a little difficult. I normally go to this place maybe twice a week and I never have an issue they accept cash and they also accept credit. read more

A really nice bakery in uptown Whittier. I took a "me" day and came here on a weekday afternoon. I asked for recommendation from the friendly cashier and was offered a sample of some cookies to try. I decided to get a box of the butter cookies and a dulce de leche latte. The latte was delicious and the cookies were so yummy! Will definitely come back to try some of their other menu items. Lots of free street parking and many other businesses nearby to browse. read more

Horrible customer service and overpriced. Went in to place a two tier cake - a basic plain one. The lady who "helped me" was going to charge me 350. No decorations to it or anything. When I repeated 350 because I was just shocked, she nodded her head saying yes to me and told me " I have until Monday if you want to place the order and walked away." Which I thought was extremely rude. It was an older lady which I've seen already that there's reviews on her. These businesses need our money to survive, the least they can do is have better service. Definitely will not return. read more

This is solely on customer service. It was my first time here there was an older lady with short blond hair in the back that didn't acknowledge me until I was ready to pay. Bread was so sour and old, their champurado was great but other than that we will not be returning.

We are very disappointed in the quality of our baked goods. We ordered them in advance for pickup on Christmas Eve day. They were the dessert for our guests. While serving them, they were stale and dry. They were not fresh. I waited until Monday after the holiday. We were busy with family. I went into the bakery and instantly the lady was on the defense. She told me nobody else complained, was yelling at me and rudely told me I could not get my money back. I did not want my money back. She could of worked with me. I have no need to lie. I will not shop at this bakery again. She was rude and very disrespectful. Not good if you want returning customers. read more

Went for their oatmeal. Delicious! Oatmeal is very tasty. They won't have it ready if you go before 7am in the summer.

I always go early to get bolillos but they are always out. Their response is they will have some in two hours or so. They should always be on stock. They lost a customer for sure. read more

Spot is good my co-worker would pick up bread for me my favorite was the elote ‍. And the rest as well fresh bread.

I wanted to give more stars because the pan dulce is pretty good but ... the lack of customer service prevents me from doing so. We walked in, got ignored- another customer walks in, "Hi, Good Morning!" Waiting to purchase, as soon as she checks out the person in front of us, she walks away to the back without saying anything ... are we invisible?? She comes back 2 minutes later with the another person's order who is behind us, still ignoring us. The baker in the back stops what he's doing to help us. Very nice guy, I think he should be up in front! Bad customer service, guess I'll be looking for another bakery ~ read more
