Sivar treats used to be a great place to eat, and the customer service was friendly. However, the last three times we've ordered the quality of the food and service has taken a turn for the worst. I let it go the first time when they got my order wrong and the tamales de pisque were super salty. Anyone can have an off day. The second time they got my order wrong again, but it was late and I didn't have the energy to make a fuss. However, tonight, they gave me the wrong pupusas and the platanos were burned. When I called back and politely let them know, the young lady on the phone seemed to be annoyed that I brought it up and dismissively told me to bring the food back. No basic courtesy, like we apologize for the inconvenience. When I got to the restaurant she rolled her eyes and took the food back in cold silence. The manager came out and again, no apology. I don't expect much, just basic recognition and common courtesy. I will not be eating here again and I caution you, that they do not value and respect customers enough to provide basic courtesy. **********+ Thank you, we appreciate your response and willingness to make things right. Located off Lambert Rd in Whittier, it's a small but cozy place that really delivers on authenticity. As usual, we like to check what other locals have to say before trying a new spot, and the reviews looked good so we decided to give it a try. They did not disappoint! I am always looking for authenticity in food and this place delivered. The pupusas were awesome and full of flavor, especially the pupusas de queso con loroco, which were absolutely delicious. This was my first time trying out this place and honestly my experience was awful due to poor customer service. I had two issues to be specific: 1) Took 45 minutes to get our order ready. Not sure if this is normal but the restaurant wasn't too busy (total of 3 parties including us). Also, there was a couple that arrived 15 minutes after us and for some reason they received their food first. 2) Another issue was being charged extra for sides (curtido & salsa) . I'm okay with paying extra for sides. However, I think that should apply to every customer (note: the couple dining in were not charged extra when they asked for extra curtido). I was charged $0.75 for each side with a total of $1.50 plus tax. The second issue mentioned above was with the male cashier (dyed hair). To be honest I don't believe they charge extra for sides because when I asked him 'how much extra for sides?' He didn't have an answer ready for me and had to go to the kitchen to ask. The staff there argued it was taxes and fees. Taxes are 10% and credit card fees are 3-6% at most. 75% more is heinous. They refused to stop gaslighting for over 15 minutes. The young woman on the phone responded with an unnecessary attitude, questioning why we needed to know and then telling us they had two. We decided to go anyway, but when we arrived, it was clear who we had spoken to. The dark haired girl didn't greet us but gave us plenty of unfriendly looks while taking her break in the middle of the already limited seating area. Basic courtesy would suggest offering space to paying customers, especially families with small children. She had plenty of small tables to move to. Unfortunately, the experience didn't improve at the counter. The young man who took our order seemed equally disengaged, rolling his eyes whenever we asked questions about the menu. The beans lacked flavor, and while the pupusas were okay, they were noticeably small for the price--especially compared to other places I've tried. After recently switching jobs and working in a new area I was on a constant search for new eateries. In my search for new restaurants, Sivar Treats was found and I was excited to try their large array of pupusas and they did not disappoint. The options and flavors of the pupusas on the menu are plentiful and all that I have tried have been excellent and filling. In my visits to this point I have tried the chicken and cheese, bean and cheese, jalapeno and cheese, garlic and cheese& zucchini and cheese options and each has been delicious in its own right. The chicken and cheese is definitely my go to option and has plenty of chicken and boasts tremendous flavor. The pricing here is also quite good at around $4 per flavor and the online ordering system works well and has been seamless for me. The only downside here is the lack of parking (a couple spots on the side or curb parking on Whittier Blvd) and the hit or miss service. The girl who works the front is friendly and always ensures I have what I need when I leave but the guy during my last two pickups has zero personality and when you ask for your order just stares at you before flinging a back in your direction on the counter without so much as even a thank you. This is definitely something that should be addressed as it can be a deterrent for me when visiting. Overall for the pricing, the menu and the quality provided this is a solid 4 star establishment. 1st time here when I walked in around 9:25pm was asked if I had placed a phone order, said no and was told they could take my order but dining room would close at 9:30 proceeded to place my order 3 pupusas that's it. The young girl and I'm only assuming new young guy were there she was training him and going over things speaking to him in English that's important for later. It seemed like they were taking a while, but I figured I would be patient and I thought that it was nice hearing the young girl tell customers leaving God bless and I understand they make them from scratch. In between waiting a gentleman had walked in maybe 10 minutes after I had placed my order he was waiting for his to go order. 20 minutes later they call him for his order and then I see her grab an order that had been sitting on the counter that I saw her put down about five or 10 minutes priorI assumed it was a phone order. So when she handed me that bag that had been sitting there and said oh that's your order I said it's been sitting there. How come you didn't say anything. She then proceeded to tell me she told the young guy, but he doesn't speak Spanish. So then I told her why wouldn't you speak to him in English then ‍ . On top of all that she handed me the bag with no curtido or salsa and tells me there's no more. when I clearly see huge tubes of curtido and Salsa at that point she was annoyed went and grabbed it for me and then said have a day I than had to ask for the curtido again. It was filled to the edges which usually isn't the case, people usually have a ring of maza. The cabbage and sauce made it a bit better of course. Plantains were good according to my family member. Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday as we were craving pupusas. Everyone tried the Revuelta along with the Lorroco and they were delicious. Each is $3.75 a la carte and there are 18 flavors to choose from. My friends also ordered the breakfast that comes with a side tortilla and the other order the gallina which comes with a big bowl of soup. Everyone enjoyed the food. Although the place is small, it's cozy and good for small groups. Their private lot to park is small but there is free street parking outside. Please note that they have a big sign out that says Pupusas rather than Sivar Treats.
