The flavors were just ok, but it seems they use too much gum ingredients because they had a sticky texture to them. Their waffle cone was ok. They were nice to let me try samples. Unfortunately the horchata and the pistachio did not pass the test. They tasted artificial. It was a bit difficult to eat with the plastic holder towards the end because the cone was harder to push up and hold up. It's interesting that it's only and outside order window and pick up. I had the matcha latte and it wasn't worth the price. Almost felt like taking an L knowing there's better tasting matcha lattes in the area, at better prices. My boyfriend had the Ca Phe Sua Da drink and that was a much better option. It was really good but I can't justify the price. I'm not a cheap money pincher but come on, to pay about $10 for a dink... $7 beverage + $1.50 cream stop (which is optional but it incredibly enhances the flavor of the drink) + tax + tip = $10+ , it's a no for me. Initially, the shop doesn't scream out anything other than grab-and-go, but the taste and quality go MUCH deeper. The matcha flavor is exactly where it should be: genuine, but not so intense that it overwhelms you. It's the kind of balance that's more difficult than it sounds, and they've just got it. Smooth, creamy, and clean-tasting from start to finish. Whether it's in a cup or on a cone, it is also extremely customizable, as you can add any topics you would like. Whether you're wrapping up dinner nearby, having grabbed a bit to eat next door, or making a dessert run, Cafe Maiko is worth the visit. The shop is also located within a plaza, so you'll find parking. There are also chairs/tables outside, so you can bask in the fresh air while enjoying your soft serve. Highly recommended! A++!
