The process was so simple and easy, I just sent an email inquiry and as soon as I heard back from them (1-2 days after), I called to place and confirm my order. For custom cakes, they require a deposit, and then the rest of the payment can be made near or on the pick-up date. They also go over their policy with you over the phone. My sister was very particular of how she wanted her birthday cake. She specified that she wanted a carrot cake with cream-cheese frosting, heart-shaped, baby-blue in color with sparkles, and have black bows. The bakery doesn't make any non-edible add-ons so I had to provide the black bows, and it turned out absolutely beautiful that we didn't want to eat it! Carrot cake was delicious, we all enjoyed it. I reached out last minute hoping to order two dozen mini cupcakes for the ICU staff caring for a close friend's mother. Not only did Krista accommodate the order on such short notice, she personally handwrote my note and had everything ready for pickup right when the shop opened the next morning. The cupcakes looked absolutely delicious, and more importantly, the ICU staff genuinely appreciated the gesture. It meant so much to be able to support my friend and her family from afar, and Krista made that possible with such care and thoughtfulness. During a very difficult time, she provided a small but meaningful way to say thank you to the people providing essential care. That kind of service is rare. Also, I have my eye on the zucchini gluten-free cupcakes, which look incredible and have rave reviews--so I will definitely be back to try more. Thank you again, Krista. Truly above and beyond.

The zucchini must make them naturally moist and they stay moist for days--if they aren't eaten on the first day we buy them. My family has enjoyed cupcakes from Sugar from the Heart for 10+ years. They've stayed consistently delicious and the quality has never wavered. My oldest daughter is my peanut butter lover so her go to birthday treat used to be their chocolate peanut butter cupcakes and even though she still loves them the zucchini cupcakes have surpassed them. I think the zucchini cupcakes have a brown butter frosting that is this cupcake's perfect partner. It really seems to be a family run business. There are two young men who might be one of the owner's sons and they are both friendly and kind. Like their mother. Why offer so many flavors if you don't get a choice? I called again the next day and thankfully got a different worker who shared my confusion with me about the first worker. They wrote down my order (I got 4 different flavors) and I was set to pick up. The day I picked up my cupcakes, I noticed they looked different from the online pictures (but whatever, they still looked cute). I also noticed they gave me a wrong flavor (I ordered chocolate whiskey and they gave me caramel something instead). I made the mistake known to the cashier but she looked so confused and said "yeah.. thats the chocolate whiskey" which it clearly wasn't because there was caramel slathered on top and did not match the online description and the in person display. I showed the cashier the description and referenced the in person display and the cashier still seemed confused and said "yeah... thats the chocolate whiskey. What would you like me to do?" And I had to spell it out for her and say "take these caramel ones out and replace them with the ones I ordered" and had to point and all and the cashier just said "oh okay."
