Listen this is the best bakery around the local area their flaky buttery croissants, Bollio fluffy and warm, the tamales: the beef are the best. This review though is for the tortas. When you read the description for their frijoles con queso (beans with cheese) you're expecting for the torta to have your regular lactic acid cheeses like Monterey Jack, Mozzarella or Cheddar cheeses. We have come here year after year more than 40 years. The Dinner Rolls are like no other place. We pick up at 5am and the Staff always very kind and attentive. Once you walk into the door your so excited and all the different scents of aromas and fresh bread and the sweet bread it awesome. The Prices are excellent. read more

I have been going here since I was born. Although I dont live in the area, anytime I can make it down here or pass by it, i try to stop and grab a bag of bread. It smells great the second you walk in and the people working are extremely nice and helpful. Generally they are spanish speakers, but the younger ones usually speak English so dont be afraid. I've been going here for as long as I can remember. They have almost any pan dulce you could possibly crave and they are all prepared wonderfully. Their bolillo is to die for, especially when freshly out the oven and still warm to the touch. They have tortas in the mornings- but be quick! By 3 pm they're all gone. I've gone here a few times. My boyfriend introduced me to their pan dulce. Honestly it's pretty good. I love the sprinkled cookie and elote. Oh and their tres leches cakes are soooo good. Definitely recommend their tres leches cakes. I had one made for my baby shower and they did such an amazing job. My guest were amazed by the design and flavor. Highly recommend this little place. Friendly people, they have good tortas and chicharrónes. Yummy.

We would always pass by this place and always wondered how the sweet bread was, so for the past year or so we have been coming here for the sweet bread and it hasn't changed a bit, the enpanadas de cajeta and the calabaza are great approved by my 3 year old son and the bolillos are also great. The pastel the trees leches is also good and the home made tortas de huevo con frijoles is a good filler when you're on the go, oh and the tamales are some of the best in town. read more

Sadly to say I have to give these people 1 star! I was going to this place for 10 years, I don't know if they changed their recipe or it's there bakers. But the bread gets hard a few hours after you buy it. The tamales our terrible! And I saw a fly where the bread is saved. Health department needs to show up and inspect their bakery. I'm disappointed in how they our handling their bakery ! They lost one faithful client. I will never go there agin. I recommend no one go to El Pollito Bakery! read more

The best time to come is early because its fresh and there is parking on the street. This was my first time walking into this bakery, I bought 3 breakfast tortas that had scrambled eggs with ham, beans and Pork rinds with red sauce and it was Delicious! I also bought 3 tamales and 3 freshly squeezed orange with carrot juice that I haven't tried yet. The older lady that helped me out was such a sweet heart. She kept on giving me samples of bread to try and they were all really good I would say even the best bread I have tried within all the near by cities around here. I used to come here to get bolillos de frijoles or with meat. The bread is good too. I haven't stopped by here in a bit. I know several times I was helped by the nice older women. I hope that she is doing well. I need to stop by one of these days. She let me leave flyers with her I remember. I used to go back and check on them. My fliers will still be there on the counter. My review is solely on a cake I ordered. I went in on Thursday I needed a Star Wars cake. I looked thru their book and nothing however the ladies told me that the person who organizes their stuff would be in the next day and they could call me. I waited no one called, Friday afternoon I called they told me they had it to come in to make the order. I went, they showed me 2 figurines, Luke Skywalker and some other one with a weird plastic design. I advised I would only want the 2 figurines plain cake that would be navy blue transitioning to black with the spray gun. I was told they don't do fondant or any other decorations. I was fine with that. When I came in to get it on Sunday I was greeted with "the cake didn't come out how you wanted it"... really??? but now I had no choice either that cake or no cake. The cake itself was delicious very moist chocolate cake. However when it comes to decoration they do the basics absolutely nothing special... also they made me write "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" on the cake apparently the decorator left without doing it. Looks like this place survives of their actual bread and other stuff they sell. Will I be coming back? absolutely! 1/2 SHEET FOR $50.. IM A BAKER I WILL JUST DECORATE IT MYSELF! read more
