Service is horrible. We came from Fontana to get 2dz churros. Mind you the churros tasted OLD. We went to the other location and the difference in service and quality was undeniable. The person said we can refund you but you have to leave the churros. Ok, then he said there's nothing he can do. We can only purchase more of the gross churros he was making. We bought plenty of churros for them to make it right. We left the establishment dissatisfied and disappointed. Check your churros before you walk out. Taste them if you can because they will refuse to make it right if they have an old taste to them. read more

This is the place if you want some cooked when order hot churros. Not much else in the display cases when I walked in and almost every one was ordering hot churros. They have the plain or the filled churros. Flavors available are.. Strawberry Nutella Chocolate Guayaba and Vanilla $1.50 for regular and $3.50 for the flavor filled. I tried one of each and all were very tasty. There's only 2 chairs available for seating inside with only one table. Mostly everyone was buying to go. We went to the McD down the street and ate them with a coffee. Delicious!!!! read more

I been buying cakes here for over 17 years. I believe they have the best 3 leches cake around. Even better than their other locations. Don't ever go to the East LA location that's the worst! The 3 leches cake and churros are their specialty here. They usually have a few different flavors besides the classic 3 leches. They vary from coffee, hazel nut and chocolate. They are all good. Amazing! I got some churros filled with cajeta And some regular ones. They were fresh and still hot when we got them. I took them home to my family and they all asked me where I got them from. So happy to find this place and that it's close by. Filled churros are about $2.50 each. I got some bolios as well they are very tasty. Delicious churros! It's unbelievable how amazing their churros are. I bought 50 churros for only $33. Every time I have an event I order churros from this bakery. They even take large orders on the same day! My only complaint is that I often have to wait 10-15 minutes when picking up my order. But it's definitely worth the wait. read more

Just picked up a tres leches cake from Lucero's for my birthday. Tres leches is my absolute favorite - it's the pinnacle of deserts, in my opinion. I showed up around 12:30 pm, no one else was there except for the three gentlemen working there. I was promptly greeted and told the gentleman behind the counter what I was looking for. He showed me their selection, and answered my questions about the cakes they had on deck. We had a brief discussion about my "Kobe" t-shirt as he boxed up my cake. Soon after I got home, I cut myself a slice, and, man, talk about excellence. The cake is incredibly flavorful and moist. The icing is light , kind of like a hybrid of whipped cream and a typical frosting, in my assessment. Can't have a party because of COVID, so I guess I'm going to have to eat the whole thing by myself ‍ read more

Churros from Lucero Bakery are the BEST I've ever had! I prefer these to Disneyland's! Crunchy on the outside, soft and gummy on the inside. And the price?! 75¢ each churro (I think the prices has gone up since I first tried their churros, but definitely not crazy. Originally 60¢ each) is definitely a steal and incentive to buy a bunch. Disneyland churros are good but for almost $5 each, Lucero's churros definitely win. Parking in the plaza is a little sparse and the location is a little in the boonies. There's a 50¢ charge for using cards. But if I'm ever in the area and craving churros, definitely worth the visit! read more

Soft, tasty, and sweet. It was a sweet treat on our way out of town.

Like George, I really don't like extremely sweet foods, specially cakes and pastries. I just feel like too much sweetness just covers up what the food should really taste like. Anyway, back to Lucero's Bakery. In here you'll get cakes that is sweet(like what my wifey likes) but not too sweet(like how I prefer it to be). Yeah, just the proper balance of both. I purchased a Nuñez Tres Leches cake, but the cake was extremely dry and hard, as if it had been sitting there for several days. A tres leches cake is supposed to be moist and soft, but this cake was the complete opposite. No one at the party ate it because of how dry it was. The next morning, June 13, 2026, at approximately 11:40 AM, I called the bakery and spoke with an employee. He seemed rude and uninterested in helping resolve the issue. He told me to bring the cake back, which I had no problem doing. I arrived at the bakery around 12:00 PM, only to find the business completely closed with the blinds down and the doors locked. What makes this even more frustrating is that the employee knew I was on my way, yet failed to mention they were closing. In addition, the business hours listed online state that the bakery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00 AM to 7:00 PM, which was clearly not accurate. I will be returning on Monday to request a refund and return the cake, since the bakery is closed on Sundays. I am very disappointed with both the quality of the cake and the customer service I received. Customers who purchase a tres leches cake expect it to be fresh, moist, and soft--not dry, hard, and inedible. I hope this issue can be resolved appropriately. Thank you.

This bakery had great reviews, and the location was perfect as we exited the 105 freeway onto Paramount Blvd. The shop is small & quaint. As I walked in, I was the only patron. I had ordered a cake for 20 by phone and they didn't charge me ahead of time. The cake was ready at my desired time of 3 PM, and so were the dozen churros we requested. This bakery has existed here for 26 years, and the service was excellent. Paying for my goods and getting back in the car was relatively painless. But let's talk about the taste of the cake and the churros. I have had this type of cake maybe 5-6 times in my life. I have to say this was the best one I can remember. There was some moisture in the cake, but it was not excessive. The slices were not thick, and the slices came out with ease and structure. The cake was not "over the top" sweet either. To be honest, I wanted another HUGE piece, but I refrained. The churros were FRESH & warm, and we enjoyed some before the other guests arrived. All in all, everyone gave raving reviews of the cake and the churros. I would definitely return to support this family operation.

If you're looking for great Mexican bread and pastries, this is definitely the place. However, on Mother's Day (May 10th), I decided to try their menudo for the first time and purchased 3 orders. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The menudo was extremely bland and seemed to be missing basic seasoning like salt and oregano. Normally, bland food can be fixed at home with a few spices, but the bigger issue was the large amount of grasa (grease/fat) in the caldo. The grease was very dense and excessive. I tried removing as much as possible, but there was still too much. In fact, I had to serve my mother the menudo without the broth because of how greasy it was. My recommendation: stick to the bread -- it's great. As for the menudo, maybe this was just a one-off experience, so others may want to give it a try for themselves. I personally hope they improve the recipe because it's difficult finding a good Sunday morning menudo spot in the Downey area.
