Super friendly staff! Limited street parking is available right in front of their store. They fry our churros fresh and it just hits every time! I wish they had longer hours so I can get some before dinner events. When the commerce location phones weren't answering, I called this location and they were able to help me place an order at the commerce location for a later pick up, same day! read more

Checked out this little shop near work on a stroll and was not disappointed. They take Apple Pay which already was a huge plus. They have a nice assortment of pastries, sandwiches, juices, and more. I tested out my favorite, orange and carrot, and it was delicious! They added beet to their mix and honestly, who doesn't need a little color and extra nutrients in their diet? I was able to put in my order and run to the store next door and pick up my drink. Their service was quick without being low quality. I'll definitely be heading back again! read more

Lucero's Bakery Express - Bakeries Near Me - South Gate, California

On June 12, 2026, I went to Lucero's Bakery Express to purchase a cake for my mother's birthday. I have been a customer of this bakery for quite some time, and unfortunately, this is the second time I have experienced the same issue. I purchased a Nuñez Tres Leches cake, but the cake was extremely dry and hard, as if it had been sitting there for several days. A tres leches cake is supposed to be moist and soft, but this cake was the complete opposite. No one at the party ate it because of how dry it was. The next morning, June 13, 2026, at approximately 11:40 AM, I called the bakery and spoke with an employee. He seemed rude and uninterested in helping resolve the issue. He told me to bring the cake back, which I had no problem doing. I arrived at the bakery around 12:00 PM, only to find the business completely closed with the blinds down and the doors locked. What makes this even more frustrating is that the employee knew I was on my way, yet failed to mention they were closing. In addition, the business hours listed online state that the bakery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00 AM to 7:00 PM, which was clearly not accurate. I will be returning on Monday to request a refund and return the cake, since the bakery is closed on Sundays. I am very disappointed with both the quality of the cake and the customer service I received. Customers who purchase a tres leches cake expect it to be fresh, moist, and soft--not dry, hard, and inedible. I hope this issue can be resolved appropriately. Thank you. read more

All I can say is it is hands down one of the best bakeries in the area, if not the city. My experience was great, cakes and pastries were delicious! Also they have great attention to service and detail, I was extremely happy! If you are looking for something that feels and tastes authentic and special, then this is the place for you! read more

BEST CHURROS EVER NO CAP I've tried churros from all over LA and nothing compares to these! Better than Don Abel and Papa Churro. Everything else is really good too they have the really good tortas, jericallas, gelatinas, cakes, and arroz con leche. I like to heat it up at home, it's sooo good! read more

I've been going to Lucero's various locations for a long time, and their churros are still some of the best around! They're thick, crispy, and not oily at all. I usually pre-order by phone, and they're always warm and fresh when I pick them up. I'm not sure what the price is for a single churro these days, but I recently ordered 50 regular churros and got them for $1.25 each since it was a bulk order. I've also tried the cajeta-filled churros before and they are fire! I haven't had anything else on the menu, so I can only vouch for the churros--but they never miss. read more

Yes spot for churros in the area. Recommend you order by phone so you don't have to wait for them to make them, since they're made fresh when you order. read more

Lucero's Bakery Express - Confetti cake - Bakeries Near Me - South Gate, California

Ordered 50 Churros for pick up needed them ready in like an hour and they came through. Delicious as well. Definitely going back!

Originally this is what I had asked for I did ask for the color to be blue instead and as you can see the eyes are made out of frosting as well. And this is what I got. A cake made out of whip cream.the inside of the cake was supposed to be filled with strawberry filling and there was hardly any strawberries. I did message the owner and explained to her how disappointing it is to have to pay $85 for garbage. Her response was, Hi Samatha , i apologize you didn't like the cake , the cake was not all whip cream we use a standard amount of whip cream for all our cakes depending on the size , you chose fresh berry filling , fresh fruit cakes comes with a barrier of whip to ensure the fruit doesn't slide out . We sincerely hope you find a new bakery that fits your taste, & needs Have an amazing rest of your day . I did notice This shop is under new management purchase at your own risk. read more

It's a tiny bakery which offers Mexican bread, some drinks and the famous churros. This is a branch of the Lucero's bakery in the city of Bell Gardens. The service was really nice. The workers were truly friendly, knowledgeable and helped me with all my questions. The time I visited, around the 15:30 on a Friday, it was not crowded at all. I had a pleasant time shopping here. I wish the branch of the Lucero will be made in the Orange County in near future since there's no other good bakery with good churro like this place. read more

Churros 10/10! Cheaper and way better than Disneyland. They are made fresh and are soft and fluffy on the inside with a crispy exterior. I think about them every day... read more

I think by now we all know that this place is the place for churros...just thought I'd remind many or made those who have not tried it to go and support them. The cakes here look amazing and delicious, which i've never tried, but definitely will as soon as a birthday approaches. I recently ordered the "cafe de olla" and thought it was tasty but a bummer they do not add piloncillo (brown sugar like) as most places do. The server explained "the original" does not have that added it is just coffee with cinnamon. Anyways, that coffee is still tasty and recommend trying it out. Service is good and looks like they've done upgrades to the place. read more

Cheese flans are by far my favorite. Curros are delicious. Service is quick despite it getting busy. Location is small but welcoming.

Bast damn churros you'll have for the rest of your life. The bread is good too but this spot is mostly known for the churros.

Their churros are seriously soo delicious! I bought a dozen and a half of assorted filled churros for an event I had and everyone asked where I got them. Great customer service too. read more

I personally like the regular sugar churros. But my hubby and kids like the stuffed churros. Love that the give a few topping options. The tortas are supper good. I usually place orders thru Eddie. But the both gentleman that work there are by far the friendliest workers. You will not leave unsatisfied I guarantee read more

I fell in love with the conchas first. New to the neighborhood, I wandered in. Absolutely delicious and I quickly discovered that they will often sell out later in the day. They pair wonderfully with hot chocolate. My coworker loves hers with coffee. And then we had a potluck at work and one of the ladies brought tamales... From the bakery? No lie, they are awesome and under $2 a piece, it's a bargain. I've been told they make tamales every day, but they sell out quick. They have cheese tamales, but I LOVE the red pork. Not a cheese person but the people at work enjoy them. The masa is light and not gummy at all. The pork is tender and not overly spicy. I'm sure they were all a little confused that I would pop in every few days for a couple of months asking if they had any tamales. I'm looking forward to life going back to normal so I can visit again! read more

Really nice little hidden gem we visited on my last trip to California. We were hoping to get some of their mermaid / rainbow conchas we had seen in another review, but sadly they are made to order. So if you're looking for those, make sure you order in advanced! What we did get was yummy though. Some regular conchas and a really HUGE cinnamon roll (see photos). We will definitely be visiting them again. Such a lovely family owned business. read more

Really good churros been coming here for years. I came today to see they've tripled in floor space and I instantly thought this was going to impact the prices, I walked in and looked at the prices at the churros and they have gone up by 25 percent and I made a comment about it and the lady for very defensive and said I wouldn't have a problem spending more if I was at Disneyland. LOL plz don't compare yourself with an amusement park. She went on to say that 1 out of 1000 customers mention the price difference. Ok lady I'm not here to argue with you just give me my churros. read more

You're better off walking and ordering a large quantity of churros instead of making an order. I ordered 50 churros yesterday to be picked up today at 4:30. I showed up and they tell me that they barely came out. I thought to myself okay a couple minutes. No problem. It's now 5:11 and I have yet to get my order while there's people walking in adn ordering and getting their churros ASAP. Ridiculous. Yet they have the nerve to tell me that it's because they orders before me when they're walk ins. read more

Conchas were sooooo yum and fresh! Got 3 different flavors of the tres leches cakes and each were perfect!

We ordered churros for a fundraiser our organization was putting together. The price was definitely right & we're super thankful this place exists. The inside is extremely unassuming and their offerings aren't necessarily laid out for anyone to peruse. You would kind of need to know what you already want and KNOW that they will provide. Again, it's all about the churros here. If you need churros in large quantities, look no further. Order ahead & even pre-pay ahead. The churros themselves are hot and fresh...crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I know because we received several compliments on them. So, yay! Additional info: street parking. read more
