This is a true community gym needed in the heart of South Gate. This bakery location has decent store customer service since they often get frustrated with various orders. The bread options are filled with lots of variety. The ambiance of this place is hot sometimes that you're sweating in line and people don't know where the line starts or ends. The place receives a 3 star review because the parking lot requires a rebuild. You cannot go in and out without waiting for movement one side, to move to another. The place has front and rear parking but it requires a rebuild for vehicles to move around. First timer recommend by my neighbor. Came for the gelatin and left with much more . Walked into the store and there's two areas to make purchases. One with the gelatins,cake slices and the other by the pan dulces. There were some friendly customers letting me know what is good to get(basically everything lol) I ordered bolillo,plenty of pan dulces, gelatins,flan and jalapeno cream cheese bread. The bolillo is actually the best bolillo I've ever had. I pulled it apart to taste it in the car and it was the softest bread but still with a nice crispy outer crust. It has a bit of a sweeter flavor which is amazing! I'll be back for more in the near future. There's so much to choose from you'll be overwhelmed if you haven't been before.They even sell donuts,candy,tortas, fresh juices,a big variety of cake slices, mini jello cups, etc. I read reviews going in,so I honestly wasn't expecting much. Disrespectful people there, I sent my sister there to do a pick up for pan dulce And they gave me an exact time to do a pick up. My sister was literally calling me saying that she has to wait two hours just to pick up what I ordered. Even though they sent me a message at the exact time, it would be done and ready for pick up. This is by far my favorite bakery of all time. The sweet bread and bolillos are very good and soft. I especially like their mini conchitas and polvorones. All of their pastries and breads are very delicious and high quality. I would say that my favorite thing about this place is that the bread is incredibly soft and sometimes you even get your bolillos warm out of the oven. I've been to other bakeries before where the bread is hard and dry. Not here. It is always soft, fluffy, and very flavorful. So far, I have not encountered another bakery that beats Elizabeth Bakery. They're truly one of a kind. I remember coming here as a child and I always get childhood memories whenever I enter the door. Updated review after getting home. A woman who was helping me walked away with my partial order. To only walk on the other side to assist someone. I'm looking at her calling her to only be ignored and then laughing. I'm white so my Spanish is limited and for the first time ever after coming here for many years I can say today marks significantly a last day for me. I will not longer do business here only until I get a call back for the disrespect as a customer here and on the phone after trying to get my order solved.. Once realized my order was incomplete, I phoned Elizabeth's Bakery to let them know and I got hung up from an employee named Maria who refused to give her last name.After seeking help. The woman were laughing in the back ground and I was shocked at there behavior and I told her ultimately whats the point in giving my number when I know they would not pass it to a manager or owner. I'm shocked that this business allows there employees to discriminate against those who do not speak Spanish and the woman just laughed on phone at This morning everyone decided to avoid the enforced social distancing rules. I took photos also I was not a happy camper, But when we say anything these days it seems to start up a big disagreement among folks and escalates to physical confrontation. I'm dissatisfied due to the posted sign outside in big bold letters that read "take out" call ahead (in which I have never been able to do at all when I call to order they say just come stand in line ! So you either make line or you don't get it most times. The service in general leaves something to be desired, I've gotten a mix of bad service and whatever service. Never left there feeling like it was a happy transaction. I've never actually had the cakes here so I can't speak to that, but the bread is always fresh. We bought a mini glazed donut, jalapeno/cream cheese filled bread, peanut butter pan dulce cookie, ojo de guey, chocolate chip pan dulce cookie, a simple cheese cake, and a mini cannoli. Every single item was either tasteless or was stale. Incredibly disappointed with everything we got. I can't believe we waited in a separate line for such crappy pastries. I was surprised to buy mostly stale items! I l on a Saturday evening and tried a lot of different items. I got a cuerno, cheese danish, tres leches, a cookie and a vanilla filled pastry. Everything but the vanilla cream tasted old. These items were definitely not fresh and that surprised me because whenever I pass this place there's always a long line. Only 2 out of 5 were fresh and that's not good for a bakery. The tres leches was okay and so was the vanilla filled pastry (can't think of the name, see pictures).
