My wife kept bugging about this because of course she saw it on Tik Tok. So we stopped by today Sunday 5/31 At first it appears they have a good selection. so we picked several options. A few mini conchas in different colors. A few different pan dulces. I picked a me of my favorite pan dulce. It's called a Panadero. It's usually the same bread as an "Elote" but round with a concha topping. It looked so I was looking forward to it. But was totally disappointed. And last, one bolillo with cream cheese and jalapeño. So what can I say..... All in all, it was JUST OK. For the unwelcoming service and the price. Definitely NOT JUSTIFIED. Ordered a large Rosca after they ran out of medium and very clearly asked for the queso (cheese) flavor three times -- while boxing it, before paying, and before leaving. The owner charged $71 and assured me it was cheese. Got home and it turned out to be Nutella. The bread was good, but the chocolate was way too sweet for a Rosca and not what we ordered. For that price, getting the order right really matters! Good pan dulce. Bolillo is a staple from here. But customer service? Always has been poor. Thinking of a customized cake? A nightmare to order and overpriced for zero quality. Don't ever ask for writing or images. I personally know THREE families whose parties were delayed because of their cake and Kathy's poor organization. The owners/family are rude and on their high horse-- very much "it is what it is so deal with it" attitude. We have repeatedly heard of the many internal familial disputes, and it's clear customers are affected in the process. They continue to raise prices and value profit over their relationship with their clientele. I have been coming here for over 10 years, my father for longer, and every employee charges each bread differently every time. A female employee was once fired for being overheard on the phone saying the job was simple since she charges "whatever" she thinks. This single handedly made us stop coming here, for the exception of their bolillo. Kathy's went from being a welcoming panaderia to a money hungry business quickly. I hope the owners figure themselves out. If you bring your child inside and they pick around their front register selection of snacks, get ready to pay $3 for a mini lollipop. Total fail on our cake. We paid $165 for a cake that was not made how it was ordered. We paid extra $15 for nuts and none were added. It was suppose to be made half vanilla and half chocolate cake and they made it all chocolate. They said it would be 3 le he's and it was dry af. Will never order a cake from here. I think they changed owners, the bread sucks now too. We used to go for their conchas, but they are so different now. It's my go to place to fulfill my sweet craving and to stalk up with Bolillos to make tortas, I never leave the store with out 4 at least of each!! Too bad I do not live close to the bakery but definitely is a treat whenever I'm around the area. The bread has not disappointed me :) The "Mantequillas" are delicious!!! The topping is so creamy and good, they are not just spread with butter and sugar like everyone else. Review is only for pan dulce--- Best pan dulce in compton and lynwood. The white conchitas are my favorite. I live in lynwood, but the bakeries in that city don't measure up to Kathy's. The bread is fresh and authentic, I also like that they accept debit/credit cards (they charge $1 for processing). However, I dislike how the street parking can get, sometimes people double park and block you in. The busiest times of day are early morning and night time. If you pass by during those times you will definitely cars double parked. Even cops double park while they run in for their pan dulce. As for service, the person who's usually there is somewhat friendly. Oh, and they sell other items, cakes, chips, drinks and candy. read more

After we chose our breads we went to go pay, and that's where our mind completely changed about the place!
