I'm giving her 3 stars only cause the cake was delicious! The cake was not decorated the way I wanted it just looks like she wrapped the leaves around the cake. We had to remove all of the leave and fix flowers before guests arrived. I literally was like my cake is ugly! I ordered my cake in February and two weeks after ordering I tried to cancel cause our wedding plans had changed and we were cutting back due to our IVF journey not going the way we had hoped. I called Michelle and explained this but she refused to give me any of the money back and told me LIFE HAPPENS & she had already used my money that was for my cake not anyone else's. Wow! Searching through Yelp, I came across this local bakery and requested a meeting through their instagram page. After talking with owner Michelle, she invited my family and I to meet with her in her shop to plan our order. We were looking for sweets for a halloween themed baby shower and Michelle definitely delivered. She made the planning process easy and we were even able to sample flavors with her. Michelle understood our theme and delivered a cake that was incredibly beautiful and delicious. I ordered a cake with a very simple design. The colors were completely wrong, and the food coloring was not fully mixed. I could see drops of food coloring in the frosting and after a couple hours of sitting the colors actually changed even more. The top layer of color was pink-ish when I picked it up and had turned orange by the time we cut it. I've never seen something like this happen. And it's not a fondant vs buttercream issue because I always order buttercream cakes and expert bakers are able to replicate the right colors perfectly. It seems it was handpainted and that was done very poorly. The top layer was unstable and you could see where it was beginning to crack. The cake was also not perfectly round and was instead flat in several places. It also was not ready at the agreed time and when I came in she said I told her a different time. This baker is not good with detail. This is the work of an amateur baker who should be testing out cakes for free with family members. It was certainly not worth $125. I would not recommend ordering from here. read more

Meechy cakes was a complete waste of money and let me tell you why. The first three things I noticed upon entering was that she was unmasked and talking to another unmasked person. Sure hope she wore a mask while baking my cake. Second was that when she brought out my cake and I pointed out that the top ring was missing and also the bottom ring was supossed to be multicolored but was instead just yellow. She then tried to shift blame on to me and when I told her let me check my texts she then changed excuses as to why the cake was different. She said oh, the top ring is missing because you said you wanted a simple design(I did but it was in reference to a second cake we ended up not needing) but also because "she didn't want to cover elmo's face". So which is the reason, was it because she misread the text or because she didn't want to cover elmo's face? She put the ring on top after I told her it didn't matter if the edges of his face were covered. It was a smash cake. She begrudgingly went to go fix it. She never apologized or offered to make it right. I had to ask her. Ridiculous. Third, the colors were wrong. So let me be fair and say I wanted a certain design but to do her best with buttercream frosting instead of fondant. I expected some differences BUT why was the coloring different? It was just a terrible experience with a mediocre baker that has a unprofessional attitude. I also want to note that the cake was not even smashable. My daughter couldn't even dig into it. The fillings were two different chocolates. One was a cream and the other was betty crocker's fudge frosting. If you want a baker that has the best and fluffiest cakes, fair prices, better attention to detail and a professional attitude, I suggest you check out Magic Wok on slausen and passens. Sometimes they have cakes ready to go and will put designs on them real quick. The flavor of their cakes are actually way better. Meechys cake didn't take like anything except gross frosting and betty crocker fudge frosting(the best part honestly). Also note that in the picture of our cake, the spacing around the top isn't even. She was being lazy. Some are big, some are small and the spacing between the different colors is random. read more
