I came here because Hawaiian food is always a win in my book. BBQ Mix Plate - A little bit of everything. You get spare ribs, beef, a scoop of macaroni, and a scoop of rice. Chicken/Katsu Combo - Some katsu and some BBQ chicken. I always have to get chicken katsu even though I know how it taste and it's always good wherever I have it, but I always want it. This is a nice restaurant I'm a shopping plaza in visalia. From the outside along with the other store fronts, it looks pretty small, but once you get inside, this place is really big and spacious!! They do multiple things, from shaved ice to boba to actual Hawaiian rice dishes. Majority of people were ordering drinks. But I was looking for dinner before work and maybe a second late dinner or early breakfast at work later. I ordered their Hawaiian bbq beef. And it came out in like 5 min or so. Meaning they have a whole bunch of it made in the back. But that's OK because it tasted amazing!!! And the portion size is generous. I would say 80-90 percent of the dish was the meat!! Granted they put it on a bed of greens but it was still enough to break up the 1 dish into 2 meals. I cannot overstate the tenderness of the meat. Yes they were thinly sliced, but all of it was tender and not stringy or chewy at all. And the taste was legendary!! Some sweetness, a nice glaze, but not too salty or sweet like I was eating dessert. They give u 2 scoops of warm fresh rice. Would be nice of there was more rice, but all that means is less beef then. Maybe next time I'll tell them to replace the 1 scoop of macaroni with a 3rd scoop of rice instead. If everything tasted as amazingly as their Hawaiian bbq beef I will be here quite regularly!!!! read more

Disclaimer: This is a grand opening post. This place is a nice addition to Visalia. I know there used to be a Hawaiian place prior but I hadn't ever tried it. This place is very cute with an open area of where they make the drinks to where we order as wall as the seating. We got the combo with the chicken, beef, white rice and the macaroni salad. The chicken was pretty good but nothing special. The beef was insanely fatty but had great flavor. The macaroni salad was tasty but was lacking something. When I've had Hawaiian macaroni salad it usually has this sweetness to it that this one didn't have. The boba was very good and we will go back. I just hope the beef has less fat. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I really hope this place sticks around. *Within 30 minutes of writing this review the establishment messaged me. After eyeing a co-worker's boba tea from Aloha Express all afternoon I convinced my husband to give this place a try for some takeout dinner. (It was easy, he loves chicken katsu.) You're immediately greeted by an "aloha!" from every single person working there when you walk in. This was a little confusing to me initially, "are they talking to me?" but it was pleasant. Decor was like stepping into a storefront in Lahaina or some other breezy Hawaiian town. Even the shave ice machine right up front to tempt you with its goodness. They were out of boba when I was there, which was quite disappointing because that's what I was looking forward to most of all! This is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars. There were a hundred other islandy drinks I could have tried, but I'll just wait til next time. While I was waiting a nice host offered me a sample of a deep fried sweet dessert to boost my spirits. I don't know what it was, but it was delicious. The chicken katsu was fresh, tasty and plentiful, comes with macaroni salad and white rice. I made sure to ask for extra sauce and probably could have used one more sauce cup to cover the leftovers the next day. I agree with another reviewer regarding the macaroni salad "missing something." If I have just gotten the food, I would have given this a higher review but my experience was less than subpar and I'm still angry about it now.... This place was on my list to check out while in the area l, mainly for the pineapple smoothie as it was in an actual pineapple. I was pretty excited for this. They also had good food options so we decided to grab food here as well. Food: rock shrimp and mixed aloha plate: these was pretty good, the meat was all tender and juicy and the portion was very generous. The Rick shrimp was also super good, it was crispy throughout our meal and was flavorful. Our meal was less than $20 and it definitely filled us up. Pineapple smoothie: now this is where I got . The menu says you have to order this dine in because it comes in an pineapple. It cost 2x as much compare to a regular smoothie which I take it because of the preparation. What I got: a smoothie in the cup. I was so confused. I asked the cashier that it should have been in the pineapple and they said that because of covid-19, they are not doing that right now. So I asked her if it was the size for the mango smoothie and they said yes. So I asked her again why would I pay $9 for a pineapple smoothie where I can just pay 4.5 for a mango smoothie that is in the same size and in a cup. She says she don't know. I also asked her why she didn't say anything or put a sign up or anything to say they no longer serve it in a pineapple because I would have gotten dessert otherwise and they say they will talk to the manager about it. That was it. I paid $9 for a smoothie that I can get at Jamba juice for cheaper and healthier and with extra booster.... So I am trying out this place in Visalia called Aloha Express. I wanted to try something with Spam...one of my favorite food items. So I chose the Spam Musabi. Basically seaweed wrap with rice, teriyaki sauce and yes spam. I also ordered the Chicken Katsu, basically breaded chicken and rice...with macaroni salad. So to start off the Spam Musabi was pretty darn good. The spam went well with the seaweed wrap and rice, oh it was good!!! If you are a sushi eater I am sure you won't trip out on the seaweed part, all I know is I'd order this again. The chicken katsu...large portions of krispy chicken thighs on top of rice and macaroni salad. So tasty. I don't have to get on a plane and fly to Hawaii to eat this glorious meal. The mac salad was pretty good , and I usually don't care for macaroni salads . The chicken katsu was fresh , hot , juicy , and not overly breaded . The dipping sauce was a bit on the watery side but still good nonetheless . My bbq mix was good and I enjoyed the cabbage under the meat to give it a bit of freshness . This was amazing! I've never really had Hawaiian cuisine before, which I'm unsure why. Today we ordered some INSANE chicken that I can't remember the name of, as wel as 4 pieces of spicy musubi. To start things off, the spicy musubi was near flawless. God what an amazing creation, and they executed it so well. I absolutely destroyed the first piece as if my mouth was a black hole, engulfing an entire planet. In other words, I made that musubi disappear. The chicken though, another story. How absolutely delicious something as simple as breaded chicken could be. Unsure how they executed this, but they delivered in every category with the breading. I'm unsure if I was just having a good day, was in a spectacular mood, or maybe the sun was shining perfectly l. I don't know, but this chicken made the entire day seem amazing. After my first bite, the breeze seemed to get a little cooler, the blinds blew in the wind, I thought magic was happening. Traveling for work so stopped in to grab some to-go food. 1st impression is the inside is very clean, the decor is modern and there is a large amount of space on the inside for dine-in. The staff was super helpful and the menu screen was pretty large. They didn't have any take out menus or handheld menus so you need to know what you want once you step up to the register. I got. Peach Jasmine boba tea which was absolutely delicious. I also got a combo plate with the Hawaiian BBQ and the grilled chicken which came with white rice and macaroni salad. Being born and raised in Hawaii I must say the flavors are on point! The ramen was delicious! The beef ribs made the broth flavorful and the kicker was the fried egg. The noodles were not the dehydrated type which makes a world of difference. It had a good flavor and texture. The bbq chicken was tender and savory. I didn't take pictures of the shrimp and we actually ate there two days in a row and ordered the chicken katsu. I must say whoever does the cooking has mastered the art of frying! The shrimp and chicken katsu were fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Spam musubi's have always been my favorite snack growing up in Hawaii. The ones served here brought me back to the islands! I actually prefer a little more sauce but that's my preference. The spam was cooked perfectly. When you walk in the staff greets you with a hardy "Aloha!" They were friendly and respectful and the food came out quickly both times. The ambiance matched the food. This local spot in Visalia did not disappoint. I ordered a classic one trying out the chicken combo. Half katsu chicken half BBQ chicken. Came out fresh from the kitchen. Crunchy with the katsu sauce on the side. They also have other sauces like teriyaki and sweet and sour. The crab Rangoon was my appetizer but it was missing the sweet and sour sauce. They only had packets. I wish they had the proper sweet chili sauce with it. It was nice and crispy. A great size of stuffing. My god daughters had the shave ice. It was huge. A great serving size to share. Toppings were fresh fruits and popping boba. Plus a surprise inside the ice!!! A scoop of ice cream.
