As soon as I walked in and looked at the menu, one of the workers asked me what I wanted and when I said it was my first time here, I needed a moment, she was like "you want a bowl though right?" as if that was that was only option. What is up with younger girls having attitude? The nicest part of the experience was that I was allowed to sample the protein option before committing to it. The only thing i didn't like was the service. the guy working was super rushy for no reason. There was literally no one there and he just seemed super impatient. Not a big deal but they don't have fountain drinks. They do have an area for water, which the water cups are free of course but when I went they had NO WATER !! Anddd there was also NO NAPKINS where the water was at !! Mind you, there was literally nobody in there prior to going in. So idk maybe I'm just being an annoying customer, but if there is nobody in there check if everything is restocked for customers? At least Lolz but I'm not gonna rate this place bad at all cause the food made up for it !! Maybe it was a bad day on their end. I've had Poki in some really great areas so I'd consider my review pretty well rounded. However, this was my first time trying out a spot in Visalia! Location is nice & around a busy shopping center but easy to find. Open bar concept, water station, cold drinks, large menu above head. Staff consisted of mostly HighSchool students with a friendly face. Wait time was a bit longer than initially assumed given there were 3 customers, including myself. Food was pretty decent but our concerns flagged up so much, we were very nervous about getting sick from the food. My concerns: Not one person wore gloves while handling the bar, this would have been overlooked by me if the staff grabbing rice, bowls, sushi, and condiments was not the same person handling transactions, an iPad, used pens, and inked receipts. This isn't a COVID concern (although even more pressing) this was an overall hygienic concern. There was one female staff member serving and running the cash area without a hairnet. Again, would have been overlooked if her hair was not slouched over to the sides and "messy"...and I didn't see 2 long pieces of hair stuck to the side of the sushi bar inches away from the tuna... I politely notified one another employee, he grabbed it...and continued to serve without washing his hands. Lol. This all may WELL be a teaching moment for ownership and staff. read more

This was my first time at Poki Point! What initially brought me in was that they sold musubi which was AH-MAH-ZING!! The reason for the 4 stars was because the seared albacore was extremely dry little nuggets and tasted what I'd imagine (wet) cat food would taste like. Also, I would not recommend the scallops. They were really mushy. You could take your tongue and gently press the scallop along the top of your mouth and it would just like dissolve. I am SO lucky I didn't get food poisoning. What was the saving grace was the smoothies! My bf and I got the Sunrise and Strawberry Blue smoothies and they were INCREDIBLE! I worked at Jamba Juice for a little over 3 years and this Poki Point smoothies were WAAAYYYY better! They use all fresh fruits! It def makes the different. I like that they seal your smoothies instead of using a standard lid (look at my pic). Overall, great Poki bowls and FANTASTIC musubi! Just steer clear of the scallops and seared albacore. read more

That's really the only inconsistency I've encountered, overall the portions on the other ingredients (protein, toppings, sauce) is pretty much always the same. Most of the toppings are included in the price, such as the seaweed salad and crab meat. I think only the avocado was an additional cost. Service was quick, so no complaints here. Honestly the portion sizes here are quite bad. I would ask them to give me more than the half scoops they try to skimp out on and they say they need to charge extra. Like I wouldn't ask if you gave the full serving. I've been to so many poke places in so many different cities and I've never seen a place be so frugal with serving sizes as here. Okay first off I have to start with I rarely leave reviews but this place definitely needed to be recognized for all the best reasons! This was our first time ever trying Poki Point and this definitely won't be our last. The menu is easy to read with each step and if you're confused, the girl making the bowls for us was super sweet, patient and willing to give any recommendations if unsure about certain choices. When we got up to the cash register to pay (since it was so slow I'm assuming) we were handed a free small taster of smoothie for my 3 year old son to try when the employee noticed he liked it. He took it back and filled it up to the top for him! We were not expecting that at all and he definitely did not have to it was so very sweet! Once seated we dug in and oh my goodness the combination of ingredients no matter what you get is so good and fresh! We order spicy tuna, spicy crab and spicy Mayo with other items but lemme tell ya... the amount of spice was so good if you love hot spicy things! We were not expecting that and we were pleasantly surprised it was not bland or dialed down from heat. If wanting something less spicy they definitely have milder options to choose from, but this was perfect for our palettes. While we were eating we overheard the employees talking and come to find out the man who gave the free smoothies name was John. John went above and beyond making our experience memorable as he began to talk and play peekaboo with our son to keep him entertained! He was so very sweet to our family and my 3 year old got a kick out of being able to play with him in the restaurant. When another family came in after us to order he was just as sweet with their kiddos offering suggestions for their smoothies what they might like. He offered also a taste of popping jelly to their little one who just had a water cup! The amount of care this establishment showed to all of their customers was astounding and so refreshing to see! Thank you soooo so much for making our evening truly special with amazing food and overall experience one we'll truly remember!
