It's more like a poke tray! So many toppings and serving sizes were so generous. Thank you for being in North County!

Generous amount of food at the medium option even enough for 2 people or some one extra hungry. Great taste and very thankful to have this in paso. Not that many options for poke but this is our family favorite

Cozy and clean little hidden gems. Lots of options, maybe too many, lol. Very fresh and delicious options. Affordable and friendly.

The restaurant is right in the heart of downtown Paso Robles, making it an easy stop if you're exploring the area. We had reservations through OpenTable and arrived a little early. They seated us within a few minutes, and although outdoor seating was available, it was around 97°, so we were happy to wait for an indoor table. The inside has a really cool Spanish hacienda vibe with rustic wood beams, warm lighting, and plenty of unique décor to take in. It's a fun space with lots of character and is connected in the back to the tiki bar next door, making it easy to continue the evening with a drink. The atmosphere was lively without being overly loud, and we really enjoyed the classic '80s music playing softly in the background. The oysters were fresh and very good. My wife ordered the ceviche and enjoyed it. I had the hanger steak salad--it was decent, but I'd probably skip the beets next time and order something different. Overall, the food was good, but it didn't quite rise to the level of "great." Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, Fish Gaucho is worth a visit for its downtown location, unique Spanish-inspired atmosphere, and solid food. While there are probably stronger culinary options in Paso Robles, we'd happily come back to enjoy the ambiance, check out the connected tiki bar, and sample a few different menu items.

We were a party of four, seated quickly and our server came up after 5 minutes or so, asked about drinks. We ordered he brought them and then disappeared...didn't ask if we wanted appetizers. We stopped him on his next lap passing by and asked for edamame, he brought one order and left. Had to stop him again and asked for another order as he didn't wait long enough for us to say two orders the first time...he dropped it off and gone againWe were ready to order so we had to flag him down again. Finally ordered and he brings one order...then 5 minutes later another order...and then 5 minutes for the next order and then closer to 10 minutes for the last order. No apparent thought given to bringing everything at the same time so we can all eat together? Very sad as we have always enjoyed eating here...maybe they were too busy but good service should always be a foremost goal of a restaurant...

The service is great, always welcoming and friendly. Very attentive as well. Not to mention there sizes and plates are worth the prices. It is located on an upstairs area right by the towns movie theater, so you have a nice view from outside and inside sitting area as well. Super enjoyable view and area. Very relaxing place as well if you want to go on a family dinner or dinner with your significant other. They are also pet friendly, they allow pets on their porch area. Which is pretty space full as well. Have some tables as well a bar sitting outside. If you're ever in town or looking for a new place to try definitely come check out Umi :))

She also only checked on us to take our orders and the check. What we ordered: Their jalapeños poppers - as my boyfriend said, "I didn't think you could mess up a dish with cream cheese and being deep fried, but this was tasteless." Pass. Tuna, fatty salmon, & uni nigiri - rice was mushy. The tuna and salmon were fine. However, the uni tasted rancid and I had to spit it out. Skip on the raw fish. Chicken katsu plate - the katsu was deep fried in old oil, the item came out black and tasted like old oil. Pink bear roll - it was slightly above average, I would have it again. The cowboy roll - it was good. If I ever went again, this is what I would order. Red hot chili roll - least favorite roll (very rice heavy, very little protein). Pass. Very spacious restaurant with a large menu with lots of potential, which is why we were excited, But we should've checked the reviews prior. We saw other patrons afterwards and they had the same experience. I would not recommend and will not going back.

We had the bone-in bbq wings and the cranberry chicken salad. There were 8 wings in the order. They were meaty and dressed with the right amount of sauce and worked perfect as a light meal. The cranberry chicken salad had a generous amount of chopped chicken and with the mixed greens, candied pecans and dried cranberries was a great balance of flavor and texture. The pacing of service was good. There were the right amount of people dining and drinking at the bar and tables to give the spot a good energy. The only downside was that they only serve wine by the glass. We would have brought our own bottle and paid the $15 corkage if we had known. Other than that, it was a great late night choice for dining and drinks.

She recommended sitting at the bar, so we did just that, and it was such a good choice. It was really fun to watch them cook and get to chat with the owner while he did so. We asked the owner what he recommended, and the calamari appetizer was his highlight. We started with that, and it was great. While everything else in the meal was also really good, this was the highlight and I'd absolutely get it again and again. For mains we got the scallop and scampi pasta over pasta and the trio fish plate special. Narrowing it down to these two wasn't easy since everything on the menu sounded good. I would get both items again, but will probably get something else next time just to try more of the menu. We came in right as they opened on a weekday evening, so we had the place to ourselves to start. It did start to fill in fairly quickly, so I would imagine it gets crowded on weekends.
