Sandwich and strawberry milkshake
Cassy S.

Cute little store ran by what looks to be a local family. Two ladies greets us as we entered. The store has drinks, food, local items, clothes, and homemade food items ( some sandwiches prepared that morning and some made to order). As we looked at the menu the women behind the counter gave us a run down of the menu. She also let us know what were the top sellers and let us know what to do if we wanted a specialty item made. She also let us know that everything is homemade and local. We ordered some sandwiches and shakes. I ordered an already made sandwich and strawberry shake. The shakes were delicious and so were the sandwiches. I can definitely see these as great grab and go items for lunch.

Toasted Turkey Caprese Baguette, S'more Cookie, PB Malt, and Kettle Chips Non-Gmo

Wanted to give Creston House a shot. On the 229, next to the post office. The front looks like a little old home. Bench seating outside and when you enter, they have a sun room with 2 tables. Then you enter the store with some local, wine cheese, meats, snacks. They also have some general store type stuff. When we made our way to the counter with the menu, we were greeted by two women. They were very nice and helpful. Since it was our first time, they walked us through it all. They had sandwiches, premade in glass, from that day, for grab and go. They also do coffees, milkshakes, and molts and pizza. I picked TURKEY CAPRESE BAGUETTE. Turkey, Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella, Pesto, Aged Balsamic and toasted it. The ingredients were very good. The pesto had a deep earthy freshness and the aged balsamic soaked halfway into the bread and delivered that bitter, yet sweet cut through the moist turkey breast. The s'more cookie was told to me that a woman in Atascadero makes them every morning. They were very good and moist, sold. The Peanut Butter Malt was made with hand scooped ice cream, real peanut butter and 2 scoops of dry malt. Silky, thick, creamy Peanut Butter Heaven. Awesome little stop. I'm intrigued by the pizza. *My problem with this place is it's pretty steep for the size of the sandwiches. Almost gave it a 3/5, but the ingredients are good and the two women delivered great customer service.*

Every time we have to gather up our own dirty plates and stack them. Just get them out of the way because otherwise they likely would not ever be picked up. The dinner servers are always very busy and they heather to be short 1 or 2 for normal service. We didn't recognize any of the servers or the hostess from our other recent visits here. Sadly, the prime rib my daughter always was so tough she couldn't cut into it. This has never happened before answer were shocked and she asked for it up he just taken away. Strangely the full rack of baby back ribs were also like eating dry jerky tonight and it was awful. They were really difficult to chew like eating dried out thick pork chops. Again we've never before experienced this. Very disappointing. We had already ordered a second rack of ribs meal to go for tomorrow so we are hoping that one is better. The meat in both was like from a different cheap supplier. If we experience this again next time we will stop coming out and it's my favorite place so I hope food improves. Additionally I ordered a cup of clam chowder. It was really thick this time like thick wallpaper paste. Nothing like the normal chowder. I should have sent it back too. The salads were great as usual but mine was misting the red onion rings but the others in our group had them. We had our usual grasshopper pie to share as the little grandsons wanted it. The crust is always too thick (1/2") and very hard so I don't even eat it. It takes one of the steak knives to get thru that crust. But the ice cream on it is always good and refreshing Service needs improvement. Food needs improvement. Hire more staff they are working like crazy and it's still mediocre service. We want this to be our go--to BBQ restaurant. Our bill was $208. We come about once a month and really enjoy coming but we've had a lot of frustrations

Ordered the Lindsay and the Italian to split between the two of us. Lindsay was good. Reminded me a little bit of some other sandwiches from slo although not quite the same however that one was tasty. Flavor was good and the balance was pretty good. Next comes the Italian. Well. I was sadly disappointed with this one. The amount of bread that was on it was a lot. Usually most places that make Italians with hoagies, will go ahead and remove some of the bread so that it has enough space for the meat and everything else. This one was probably 2/3 bread, the rest was the actual accoutrements. I was not a fan of the muffaletta. But that's on me because I'm not a muffaletta fan. Meats were good but the whole sandwich didn't mesh for me. Staff was really nice, the selections of cheese were awesome but that place was hot! Not sure what was going on with the AC that place was hot! It's worth a stop based off the quality meats, location and staff.

So of course, I ordered my favorite too, a salt bagel, extra toasted. My main goal was the soup, and when they said it was only available frozen, I was totally fine with that. It could thaw throughout the day and she could enjoy it whenever she felt up to it. Turns out, it was a great call. The soup had tiny bits of veggies and multiple matzo balls that were nice and sizable. She loved it, and honestly, it looked so good I'll be getting it for myself next time I'm feeling run down. Now the surprise star... that bagel. The chew was spot on. That perfect bakery-style texture with just the right crust. Not even close to a grocery store bagel. If you know, you know. The shop itself is small and super casual, with a very relaxed, neighborhood feel. Service was quick, about three minutes from ordering to walking out the door. They also have outdoor seating, which is a nice bonus. And one more thing worth mentioning... if you take a minute to look up at the menu board, they have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches. Definitely coming back to work my way through those. Great food, fast service, chill vibe... and that bagel chew alone is worth the stop.

I ordered a simple turkey sandwich on a sourdough roll with chipotle mayo, mustard, onion, etc. Do not let the simplicity of this order fool you. This was genuinely the best sandwich I have ever tasted in my entire life. Every ingredient stayed perfectly in place when going for a bite, they didn't skimp out on the amount of turkey, and the roll was toasted to absolute perfection. The crew at this shop is NOT messing around. With every bite, we thought of what diction we could use for this review to describe it. I could go on and on about how magical this sandwich was, but I urge you to go try it for yourself. Thank you High Street Deli staff for making our day!

After 4 PM, they offer the "420 Special," which makes their sandwiches only $9. They also have online ordering, which I attempted to use, but they had already reached their limit for online orders because they were so busy. And after visiting, I can see why! Despite the crowd, they've perfected their sandwich ordering system, it's super efficient. When you walk in, you fill out a small paper checklist with your order and hand it to one of the employees at the register. They submit your order, you pay, and then wait for your sandwich. Expect at least a 25-minute wait, especially during busy hours. I tried the Tropical Vacation sandwich: smoked turkey, jalapeño havarti, "the works," romaine, sprouts, avocado, honey mustard, cranberry sauce, and sliced sourdough. I swapped the sourdough for Dutch Crunch bread, and it was PERFECT. It was the thickest, juiciest, and most flavorful sandwich I've ever had. I'll be dreaming about it until I can have it again. The pictures truly don't do these sandwiches justice, they were massive. I also tried the Spring Club sandwich. It was just as thick and delicious, though not quite as juicy as the Tropical Vacation. Honestly, I want to try ALL of their sandwiches because I have no doubt they're all amazing. The shop itself is super cute with a vintage feel, and they also offer a wide variety of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Food: 10/10 Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 9/10 Overall: 9/10

They are good to the Templeton community. We like the wings, pesto chicken pizza, and pepperoni pizza especially. We tend to make our own salads at home when ordering pizzas, so I can't speak to those. The chicken bake thing is cheesy and excellent and $8. My husband and I can split just that and a thing of wings, happily. We've never been disappointed by an order, many experiences in, and it's our go-to "emergency dinner lever" or "pizza craving option" to pull these days given that it close in proximity for us to pick up (we've never done delivery). Their family meals are a great deal, if you're feeding a crowd or want leftovers. And they are reliable in speed and service. We enjoy them and patronize them far more often than we ever did their location's previous tenants!
