This is a great dining experience if you just overlook the seriously sticky tables. I know they are clean but the wood finish is being attacked by whatever they are cleaning g tables with! A simple checkered tablecloth would remedy the situation quickly but I imagine cleaning and replacing would be a considerable burden. We loved the food and service was great though! I recently "Re-visited" hazards because my gf said their Calzones and pizzas are amazing. I ordered an everything pizza and it arrived much larger than I expected which was a welcome bonus, but that first bite was over the moon. I immediately asked my server about the crust because it had a deep flavor profile. Server said that their pizza dough is generational and I couldn't agree more. The ultra fresh toppings added to the sour dough crust, but this being an affordable pizza, I could not believe the handmade sauce and sausages were top notch. Every bite truly blew my mind. I turned and called over the restaurant manager, "You have something very special here! Technically, this is pizza off the year!" I've been to this spot three times over the past few months, and here's what I've come up with so far: Let's start with the good: Ragu Pasta This was really good. Everything from the seasoning to the Italian sausage was on point, and the pasta was cooked to a nice al dente. Definitely something I could order again and again. Mango Cheesecake Exactly what you'd expect--sweet, creamy, and full of mango flavor. A solid dessert option. Chocolate Cake (top shelf, middle) Not sure of the exact name, but it was rich and tasty. Another win on the dessert menu. Side Salad Taste fresh, and it was good! Now, the not-so-great: Benny's Pizza The toppings were decent, but there was just too much oil. While the outer crust had a good crunch, the rest of it was soggy. Not something I'd order again--overall, just okay. Short Rib Ragu This was a big miss. It lacked flavor, the pasta was undercooked, and I honestly don't understand why it's even called a "ragu." It felt disconnected from the dish I expected. Wouldn't recommend. Olive Oil Cake Not a fan. It was really dry--almost like dried-out cornmeal--with whipped cream and some other topping that didn't help much. Couldn't taste any olive oil either. Other Notes: Service Always friendly and welcoming. Definitely a bright spot of the experience. Takeout Just a heads up: if you're ordering to-go, expect a wait. Every time I've ordered, it's taken around 40-45 minutes. All in all: A nice little spot to check out if you're in town. We really tried to give this place a chance, but after three visits it is safe to say we won't be back. Each trip the service was terrible. Everyone was very friendly, however, it's like nobody trained the servers. There is a total lack of prioritizing (ex. wiping down empty tables while a party sits amongst their dirty dishes for 20 minutes). Everything is slowwwwwww, The food took forever to come out all three times we were there. Each time the food was only mediocre. The pizza was fine, the calzone was really good, and the Alfredo was just gross. It was noodles covered in oil with globs of cheese curds and had no flavor. Generally this place has delicious pizza. There have been occasions where the pizza just didn't add up and other times that it has been the best I've had. My problem is with rotating servers and my last visit. Although the food was amazing, I was overcharged for my meal. I received the bill and pointed out that I was undercharged for a glass of wine and the bill was revised. I typically only tip in cash to ensure our waitress gets the most out of her hard work. I handed our waitress $15 cash and signed off on the bill for $70.01 with a debit card and wrote "Cash" on the tip section. I recently checked my bank account and it stated I was charged $84.01, which leads me to believe they input the tip manually. This is theft. read more

I dropped in this cozy Italian restaurant serving up pasta and pizza. My wife and I are passing through on a travel trip. Staying in Morro Bay. So we were craving margarita pizza to go. At the bar my server was so friendly chatting with me while she was working and queuing my order in the kitchen. I really love the vibe in this place, and would love to come back with my wife. Hey now just saw a plate of red sauce pasta walk by just under my nose at the bar. Boy did it look plated scrumptiously. They have a perfect health score 100 which means that the cooks I was eyeballing flying around in the kitchen are paying attention to detail and following proper sanitation procedures. And a delish pie! Good crunch on the crust. Good chew on dough cooked through. Plenty tomato sauce and mozzarella. Some sweetness in the dough and or the sauce. Will certainly be back! read more

In a time when prices are going up and quality is going down this was an amazing discovery. Hazards did not disappoint, cozy vibe , small town hospitality and incredible food. This restaurant has a small parking lot and parking on the street. I went on a Friday night around 6pm and was lucky enough to find an open table. It's a small restaurant with local art on the walls and a warm atmosphere. I was greeted right away and was served at a reasonable time. I love Italian food and Hazards really impressed me. I ordered a small green salad that included garbanzo beans, sliced tomatoes, and slivers of red onion and was beautifully presented. I also had a cup of their daily soup special, butternut squash with Italian sausage. OMG so delicious. The meatballs appetizer was also delicious with a tomato based sauce with cheese and basil. Finally, the creme brulee was DIVINE. So rich, creamy, and thick; it's served in a deep bowl and topped with gooseberries, of all things! Stunned by how unkindly I was treated by staff here. Placed a to-go order and tipped what I thought was generously... cheerfully checked in... to be ignored for a couple who were obviously staff bc the young man ended up going behind the counter to charge his date and play grab butt. A bustling convivial and welcoming local Italian restaurant tucked away in an esoteric Los Osos neighborhood. Tonight they were jammed packed! Overall what stood out for hubby and me was their crunchy and quite tasty complimentary bread, 2nd basket was offered and of course, welcomed! Sadly, the rest of our meal goes south from here. Between our shared caprese salad to both of our pastas (hubby's artichoke piccata and my Italian sausage with mushrooms), and final slice of tiramisu, we were disappointedly underwhelmed. Caprese salad had a few sprinkles of balsamic vinegar, but strangely missing any olive oil or seasonings. Hubby's artichokes on his pasta tasted having come from a jar, and lacked any real depth of flavors; my ragu pasta was incredibly saucy, flavor was one note, and barely tasted any of the minuscule pieces of Italian sausage. Only cheese for our pastas was in a pizza shaker. I'm bumping this to 4 stars because of the most friendly and kind-hearted staff, I'd come back just for their sweetest dispositions, and the quaint adorable environment. Wow, was visiting Los Osos with my family and we had a great meal at Hazards. The pizza there is quite special. I also got a butternut squash and sausage soup special that was hearty and excellent. Cute little restaurant- parking is minimal- had a difficult time finding an available spot and had to park down the street. Had ordered for pick up and was told it'd be ready in 30 minutes but when I arrived I waited about 15-20 minutes longer. Friendly welcoming staff. Small bar area. Prices are average. I had the butternut squash ravioli which I thought was tasty although the portion was small but it was tasty. We also ordered chicken parmigiana which my son said was ok but didn't think he'd get it again. Was disappointed in the garlic bread we ordered. It was too hard. I had carrot cake and the portion was generous and it was really yummy. Son had lava cake which he said was too dense for him. They arent always staffed enough to handle a rush and you can be left waiting longer than anticipated. Its not the best Italian by far, but it is one of the best restaraunts in Los Osos! read more

We were regulars at Jimmy Bumps and were so sorry to see it leave. We finally tried Hazards a couple of nights ago and we're almost sorry we didn't try it sooner. The manicotti was terrific, my son's chicken parm-some of the best ever and I must admit the butternut squash ravioli even better than Jimmy's. They would have received 5 stars except it was the loudest restaurant experience we ever had. Yes it was crowded but as much as we loved the food it was so unpleasantly loud we just looked forward to leaving.
