Pasta puttanesca
Andy R.

On the recommendation of my friend, Jeopardy John, we are here last night. I had the pasta puttanesca. It was good and bad. Bad: my dish had the top of the tomato called the calyx which I don't believe is edible. Good: taste, well prepared and appetizing to the eye.

Caesar Salad

Amazing service and great food, we will definitely be back! Ordered Caesar Salads, Chicken Parm and Pesto Tortellini. The Pesto Tortellini was the star of the show!

Never disappointed! We try to make Sunday dinners at Jimmy's we love how welcoming this place is. The cute casual cafe diner vibe, the friendly servers to the owners in the kitchen singing away at the Italian music overheard on the speakers. I've never been disappointed or left hungry! And I'll let you in on a little secret the spumoni is incredible!!! Sure parking can be difficult at times but if you can't get a table surely you can order takeaway because Jimmy D's is a must! The baked penne is one of my favorites the creamy cheesy goodness is like a hug from Nonna! I wish Jimmy's would adopt me! Goo goo heart eyes!

Tiramisu + spumoni

Decided to come here to spend a 3.5 year relationship and it was fantastic. Jimmy D's is only a few minutes away from home and it has always caught our eye. We were so excited, we definitely ordered more than we could swallow. We got the toasted ravioli ($9), chicken parmigiana ($20), and manicotti ($17). It was all so so delicious. My favorite was definitely the manicotti as the ricotta cheese was just divine. For dessert, we got the spumoni as a complimnetary dessert and tiramisu!

Menu as of July 5th 2025

This place has been around for a few years now, I've even been told good things about this place. Well I finally gave it a try for an early Saturday dinner on July 5th 2025. The crowd was decent and still we did not have to wait, our server was quick with the menus, slightly slower on the drinks (coffee and two waters). They do not have a fountain soda system and I was not paying $3.50 for a single soda can/bottle. It was a good 15 minutes after the drinks that we were served the bread for the table. The bread was good and went well with the oil and vinegar, but the butter served was cold as if straight out of the fridge and could not spread it on at all. My water i had finished by now and had set it near the edge to be refilled where any staff could see it empty. It was about another 10-15mins after the bread did our food arrive. Our plates were served with the food still hot and fresh as if right out of the kitchen without it sitting around waiting to be served. The portions were decent, but... the flavor and contents of the Shrimp Primavera was nothing to write home about and I wouldn't agree on its price. The Eggplant Parmigiana, I don't think I'd order again. The flavor was ok. When I think of eggplant parmigiana, I see a nice thick hearty slice of eggplant. A decent 3-4 slices I'd say can be cut out of an eggplant, but these serving slices were a fraction of what one slice of it should've been. There was easily more breading than eggplant, I even had to cut open multiple spots just trying to find the eggplant. We requested a refill on the coffee and bread basket about a third of our way into our entree, not till just before we were done with our plates did the coffee and bread get refilled. As our entree plates were bussed I had to ask for the refill on my water. A good 10 minutes passed till we were tended to again, more plates picked up. At this point I asked for the check and for my first water refill again. The timeliness of the entire dinner service and simple water refill requests I feel we're not up to par for a small quaint restaurant that this place is. Overall I would "maybe" give this place another try but as an initial first visit I was very disappointed. Not to mention uncomfortable chairs and also overhearing two other table's conversations about the slow and poor service. For a dinner for two with this experience, I don't think it was worth $63

Another wonderful evening at Jimmy D's Spaghetti Joint ! My lovely wife Terri and I split the Cesar salad, Eggplant Parmesan and Spaghetti with meat sauce entree along with the Cheesy Garlic bread and finished with the Spumoni dessert. Splitting everything and still took some home. All for under $50 excluding tip. Linda and Jimmy's place never fail to deliver a scrumptious and appetizing array of Italian cuisine ! Service was excellent as always on this busy Sunday evening. Linda was even kind enough to take a pic with us after she personally checked on my wife and I. How sweet she is !

Is my beloved cannelloni ever offered as a special? I see it is no longer on the menu.

They don't have nightly specials but it is on the menu I've seen him make it several times over the last several weeks. It's one of my favorites it's super yummy. Thank you so much for coming in

April 22, 2026 - Pismo Beach, CA…read more Another year gone by, and another visit to Giuseppe's. Still the same great food, ambiance and service. Once again, we arrived early (5:00 pm), for dinner (they don't take reservations). We were a party of 6, and we were seated right away (as soon as our entire party was there). I was going to order something other than what I had last time (just to try a new menu item), but remembering last year's meal, I ordered the same: half order of both the Ravioli di Zucca and Brown Butter Ravioli. So very good. Restaurant vibe is happy and festive. Our waiter's name was Guido, and he was great. Once again, enjoyed our time.

I would even generalize the goodness and quantities here to many or even most Pasta & Cheese dishes. Adding their whole loaf of freshly baked bread takes most dishes over the top. I feel that most Italian places in my neighborhood all offer various elements that they are really good at. It is important to note the limitations of most of these places to avoid a let down....and also to account for seasonal, or ingredient variations as well. If one is in downtown Pismo Beach proper, there are only two good choices, that being either Rosa's or Giuseppes. Giuseppes has the advantage of being more of an authentic NYC style pizza place...at least the Express version is. For sit down causal, Rosa's food and service is great for the family. If one wants to go outside of Pismo, you can find Luccas in AG Village. If one heads for SLO-town itself, you can find tons of choices that are great as well, such as Piadina or Flour House for more great Pizza. Regardless of the other places, I will likely always regard Rosas as my go to for Manicotti and Freshly baked bread. What other place gives you a whole loaf of hot fresh baked bread these days?

I walked right in and sat at the bar, there are about six large high backed booths and a few tables scattered in between. The menu is very simple; sandwiches hot or cold, salads and pizzas, and slices. The bar looks pretty friendly, I wouldn't call it a neighborhood dive but certainly a great "date" spot. Looks like a well stocked deli case with stuff and a few shelves with other goodies for eating. I ordered the Hot Italian Chop Sando $16, basically a heaping of the Italian chop salad on toasted bread. It was good, could do with more of the italian meats dressing flavor was good. I had to check out the deli case to find my desert, looking real pretty was a genuine carrot cake. Three thinish layers with butter cream frosting which was not overpowering sweet. $10 okay that makes the cake worth about $100, meaning it was a thin slice. Both were really just enough, portion control is a new behavior for me... I'll be back for some pizza, maybe bring a date too. Always top quality in their products created and served in their locations, I've never been unhappy. Thanks, Foodguy-martin

Fresh warm bread and butter were also provided to start the meal. We got the steamed clams which were absolutely delicious. Done with a classic garlicky white sauce, the clams were fresh with no unpleasant fishy smells or tastes. The seafood pasta is the reason we return to Ada's year after year. There's a huge assortment of seafood included and all of the individual ingredients are well cooked unlike most seafood pastas. The mussels were small and very mild in flavor, almost tasting like clams. A flaky white fish as well as a more meaty fish were also included and weren't overcooked. As soon as I walked in, I was mesmerized by the refrigerator row of wine/champaign bottles. The bar area is well decorated with a dark background and small lights to emulate a dark starry night. Their service was not good in our L.A.-opinionated minds. Yes, we were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival. We waited maybe 20 minutes before someone eventually came to take our order. Mind you, the whole time we were ready to order, the waitress who seated us was walking back and forth, setting up tables around us. She clearly saw that we were ready to order but didn't even offer to take our orders or get another staff who could. This is a place to come to if you are NOT in a hurry and are here to simply chill and take life SLOCAL style. The food here seems like a fusion between American and Mediterranean style. 1. Octopus Appetizer (4.5/5) Large octopus tentacles served with a combination of vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, roasted peppers) toasted with garlic and olive oil. The vegetables and octopus were all cooked very well. The octopus was fresh and melts in your mouth. 2. Grilled Asparagus (2.5/5) Large asparagus that's seasoned lightly, but it was not cooked correctly. It had a very stringy-fibery texture. 3. Philly cheesesteak (2/5) The hoagie bread was grocery store quality at best. We were sad that it wasn't even toasted or warmed up, so ended up ditching the bread/bun and just ate the inside. The cheese was at least nicely melted. The onion and bell peppers were fresh, but the steak was "meh." Definitely not quality beef. The beef itself was also not seasoned enough, so was bland and dry. 4. Onion rings (5/5) Fried to perfection. Loved that the onions were fresh and it was easy to pull apart with each bite. The aioli sauce that its served with is plain and bland though. 5. Crab cake (4/5): Crabby patty anyone? All I tasted was fried Panko batter. Wish the patty itself had more flavor and spice. The garlic aioli sauce that came with it though was good. 6. Dr. Marquis Salad (4/5): Fresh spring mix lettuce topped with ground beef and crispy bacon, tomato, sliced avocado and tossed with their house-made olive oil, salt and pepper dressing. Overall, it was a hearty salad with plentiful flavor. It was just a bit weird to have ground beef in salad, but I guess that's what makes this salad dish unique
