I've had Mountain Mike's before (at home, about 300 miles south of this location) and it was mediocre. Average at best by our house. This location though, good pizza, good salad bar, tons of space, solid arcade/games, great staff. Pizza was a little greasier than I like but it was still very good (we ate two larges with a little help from another teenage boy who snapped the pic). Pepperoni was perfectly crispy, crust was cooked well also. Little too much sauce for my liking and I ordered it with light sauce. Definitely go light if you're not a big sauce person. Salad bar had plenty of good options as well and my wife and I split a salad. Kids played a bit and we hung out and watched a couple of games on TV. They even changed the channel to another show for a customer who wanted to watch something else, pretty cool for them to do that and not interrupt what anyone else was watching. The food was good, don't get me wrong.. I usually enjoy myself here. Unfortunately, I was dissatisfied in the behavior and state of this location. Upon ordering and picking up my food, the staff member was non-chalant, and made me feel uncomfortable. I ordered a large pizza and the new wings with the Kogi sauce. I waited for about 30 minutes for my meal and while I was sitting, I see this! A worker sitting on his phone in clear sight of consumers. I don't mind seeing people relaxing, but it's unprofessional to see a Staff member and a lack of organization/cleanliness for a well known franchise like this. Decided to give this place another try. Came here cause we were in the pizza mood and thought it deserved another shot. You order at the counter. The kids at the counter still didn't totally know what's going on. Hence the lower stars. But having said that the place is clean. Unfortunately the atmosphere is lacking. I have heard good things about this pizza place so I decided to place an order for delivery it was for just a medium pizza with a side of ranch. I asked if cash was ok and they said yes. 2 hours later no pizza and I get a call that I did not pay cash for my pizza they said. So.. My son does door dash and this evening, Saturday night right around 10 pm, he went in to grab a pizza for a customer.. They don't wear name tags so I can't use his name, he was so rude, to my son, and to another person who walked in at the same time. This is not a one time thing, my son goes in there a lot.. This young man never says a word to my son. Not in greeting and never a Thank you.. We have gone there every Thursday night, for TNF, for two years.. If this is the kind of treatment we can expect, we'll be going elsewhere from now on.. I was hesitant at first. But I have tried more than one establishment and been pleasantly surprised! We are always traveling from Socal to Central California and back so are always looking for a place to stop. We have a dog so outdoor patio is always a must. It seems that most of the Mountain Mike's have a patio... The pizza is pretty good and a salad bar is average, to above average. Great job creating an atmosphere that is comfortable and friendly. We have been here a few times for the lunch buffet. There are always good topping options m, and if you ask nicely they will make one with toppings of your choice. The staff have always been very polite and the dining area is always clean. This is a great place to come if you have hungry teenagers. read more

Mountain Mike's Pizza is located off the 101 freeway at the Santa Rosa exit. Besides the usual pizzeria fare, they offer a lunch special of all-you-can-eat pizza, salad & breadsticks. Today, we were welcomed as soon as we entered the restaurant, and our order was promptly taken. The restaurant has a bright, modern interior filled with several big-screens monitors to watch sporting events, etc. There is a separate party room, a small video game arcade, with indoor & covered outdoor patio dining. The salad bar has a wide variety of items where diners can assemble a salad to their own taste. It is shielded with a low plexiglass sneeze guard, however it makes reaching for back row items quite difficult even with my long arms. During the lunch buffet, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, the pizza station is continually refilled with fresh slices to choose from. The pizzas have a generous amount of toppings on them. My only gripe is the crust has a very thick & quite doughy texture. There are no choices for other types of crust(s). Overall, the pizza slices were very good, and the salad bar items were extremely fresh. Beer and wine selections are available. We very much enjoyed Mountain Mike's Pizza lunch buffet. read more

Okay, the jury is still out on this place. Ordered over the phone at 4:25pm for a 6:15pm pickup. 2 pizzas. The person on the phone was honest when she said she didn't know if the pizza would be ready on time! I'm guessing this place may get a lot of fake orders? They didn't put the pizzas into the oven until I arrived, which in turn caused me to be 20 min late arriving with dinner. This is my go-to pizza place in Atascadero. They seem to have worked out the kinks that made me feel the need to dock a star in my previous review. The pizza is consistently cooked to perfection and LOADED with toppings. I like that if I use the app to pay my loyalty rewards link up- and they add up after awhile. I still wish they had more arcade games- like perhaps consider turning the entire corner over there into a mini arcade. I guarantee it would pay off. The patio is able to be reserved for private parties at no charge which is nice if you have a large group. The salad bar is SO good. I come here often just for it. I wish they offered the all you can eat lunch buffet on the weekend (even if served at an upcharge), because I guarantee they would get more business. Would you rather Round Table or Mountain Mike's edition... That's really what it comes down to. My answer honestly? Mountain Mike's. If you're going for any other pizza though, then yeah maybe go to Fattes where you get a free pizza when you spend as much as it costs to go here. I tried this place because I've seen it as a chain in other cities and thought I would give this new one in my town the first try of eating there ever. The pepperoni that's burnt/curled is a wow factor for sure, and that's why if it was between round table or there I would choose it. The wings were also okay, if you can't get to wing stop or bdubs (east coast name for Buffalo Wild Wings). This is why it's getting an average score for me. The price is definitely not worth it, I was expecting the sizes to be bigger than the ones around here since the price for a small is like the price for a large (the small has a nice cut of 8 pieces though which I did appreciate). Tl;dr - the pizza is currently way too expensive for its quality. I got take out to check out the place and it was a bit confusing on where the line was supposed to go as well but looks like it has nice indoor and outdoor seating. Although we sorely miss Marsten's 101 and it's full bar (the prior business in this location), my husband and I decided to try Mountain Mike's pizza. I grew up in Northern California, where we had this chain, so I was excited to see one come to Atascadero. I passed by the site a few nights ago, and it looked insanely busy. So we decided to come for lunch on the weekend, when it was not so busy. We split a medium Pike's Peak (all meat) pizza and a side salad. Patrons also have the option of a limitless salad bar. There was a decent array of choices, and the bar seemed well maintained (& replenished). The pizza was absolutely loaded with meat and had a pretty good sauce; I'm a big fan of Round Table pizza's sauce, but this was definitely comparable. Our pizza came pretty timely. Staff were friendly and actively engaged in cleaning during slow periods. Unfortunately the paper towel dispenser in the ladies' restroom was not functioning well, but I opted to not hold it against them in my overall rating. There was an area (presumably for the kids) near the old bar area that had a few video games. There were several beers on tap, local wine options, hard seltzers, and several non-alcoholic options. On this occasion, we ended up taking pizza home, because the pizza was SO loaded with meat that the medium was really more than we needed (we could have split a small instead). For a mediums pizza, a salad, a beer and a soda we spent about $40. This was not so bad, considering that we took enough pizza home to cover another meal for the two of us.
