This place kind of reminds me of Ono Hawaiian. We stopped by the area because my husband's brother lives here and on our way home we were looking for a place to eat. Not sure if this is a family owned business, but the food was okay. I would definitely come back if I came in with someone, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come eat here. Nothing wrong with the food, it's actually good, it's just too similar to what I cook at home, so I probably wouldn't come here. Staff was okay. The restaurant looked clean, restrooms were clean and there were tons of people coming in and out to dine in or take food home. I even saw Uber come in and out several times. When I see this, this automatically tells me that the food is fresh all the time. If you're a fan of Ono Hawaiian then you'll like this place. I think the price is a little high, but not unexpected given the quality and flavor. There is an option here for every preference, and I haven't had a meal I didn't like. Fridays are my favorite because they have loco moco as a special. That is one of my comfort foods. Regarding the price, their portions are pretty hearty, so that helps make up for some of it, and it's reasonable for the amount of food, just a lot in both regards if you're not feeling extremely hungry. -Service/Ambiance:: The service is fine. My son didn't complain about his teriyaki bowl... & the crab Rangoon weren't bad... but the Kalbi plate was not good... the rice was good (who messes up rice though?)... I placed an order for a chicken katsu entree and within ten minutes, my food was ready. Unless you have a massive appetite, one order is more than enough to split between two people. You get two large scoops of rice, a scoop of macaroni salad, and a mountain of chicken. The chicken is fried really well: it's not too oily and the breading on the chicken is very thin. Maybe just a nice worchestshire with ketchup and sugar to replace), 4 scoops rice and 4 scoops Mac salad. For three of us, we went home with another half meal worth. I want one of these next to my place!!! When I first heard Aloha Express, I thought it was a chain since it sounds like Panda Express. Surprise! It's not everywhere in CA. One of those places that should be. Many good qualities. Starting with location; it's in a mall. This means plenty of parking and other activities to do after eating. Good working hours. A lot of places in Visalia close pretty early, but they work until 9:30 so late night people can still get some grub. Food quality is good for it's price! First, I want to mention that they serve the katsu chicken fresh (I would assume it's the same for all their other meats). I want to emphasize this because it's rare for a "fast food"-like restaurant to serve freshly cooked meat. You can tell because the meat was juicy and steamy, and it was like this for a hot 10 minutes! Also, a very nice portion size for it's price. One thing I regret is not getting their chicken combo. I didn't want to get too much food, but considering how much they gave on their regular katsu plate, I was bound to get too much food. Boba was good. They have limited selections, but their quality was pretty similar to that of a good boba shop. Again, can't speak for their specialty drinks, but the more generic drinks were refreshing. Service was pretty great (at least for those I interacted with). They were personable and thoughtful. Please note, I gave this rating thinking it was supposed to be a fast food restaurant in a dining setting. Going in with this perspective, I give the place a really strong 5-star rating. read more

This is a nice restaurant I'm a shopping plaza in visalia. From the outside along with the other store fronts, it looks pretty small, but once you get inside, this place is really big and spacious!! They do multiple things, from shaved ice to boba to actual Hawaiian rice dishes. Majority of people were ordering drinks. But I was looking for dinner before work and maybe a second late dinner or early breakfast at work later. I ordered their Hawaiian bbq beef. And it came out in like 5 min or so. Meaning they have a whole bunch of it made in the back. But that's OK because it tasted amazing!!! And the portion size is generous. I would say 80-90 percent of the dish was the meat!! Granted they put it on a bed of greens but it was still enough to break up the 1 dish into 2 meals. I cannot overstate the tenderness of the meat. Yes they were thinly sliced, but all of it was tender and not stringy or chewy at all. And the taste was legendary!! Some sweetness, a nice glaze, but not too salty or sweet like I was eating dessert. They give u 2 scoops of warm fresh rice. Would be nice of there was more rice, but all that means is less beef then. Maybe next time I'll tell them to replace the 1 scoop of macaroni with a 3rd scoop of rice instead. If everything tasted as amazingly as their Hawaiian bbq beef I will be here quite regularly!!!! read more
